So Charlie Hass has been given Stevie Richard's old gimmick of impersonating other superstars? Last week he was Charlito. This week, he's John Chara. This would be entertaining if they had Charlie impersonate people associated with his opponent. Last week's Charlito character made sense since Carlito is Primo's brother. But Kofi has no history against Cena, that I can recall. It would have been more fitting if Kofi dressed as Santino. |

I was thinking Big Show's version of that gimmick but, ok...Stevie's is fine too. |

I forgot about Big Show doing it as well! Which is odd, since I found his impersonation of Hulk Hogan during his match against Kurt Angle to be absolutely hilarious. |

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!

I remember Eugene for some reason... but he only does the legend's moves or his opponent's moves (I just saw his match against Trips at Summerslam 2004 when Eugene did the Pedigree and nearly won). |

Sounds like a solid episode of Raw, I guess. I'll probably tune in, just because I don't have anything better to do.

John McEnroe was pissed they were taking Tennis off the air to show Raw.
Still cut off the beginning for a bowflex commercial. That was a good opening segment. Orton and Punk and a good confrontation going. Kane needs to stay off the mic. That was funny. It took the crowd until Haas spoke for most of them to realize that it wasn't Cena. You know, that 2nd/3rd generation stable would look a lot better with Randy Orton as the leader. That ECW battle Royal makes me think Henry is definitely losing the belt. He was too dominant. |

Cryme Tyme took those belt shots phenomenally. They made Rhodes and DiBiase's attacks look really damn vicious. |

This has been a really good Raw. Not much to complain about with this one. Orton did a good job with his promos. Looks like they are going to build him up to face Punk at some point. Well I see where HBK hurt his arm/shoulder. That dive towards Jericho towards the end looked bad. |

One word to Michaels landing on his head diving out of the ring: ow. Although what was with the silence afterwards? It must've been an audience member or something. That was a really great promo. It didn't feel like a wrestling promo for the most part. It felt like two bitter enemies making threats. Nice stuff. This will definately be my choice for feud of the year. |

I liked the promo between Jericho and HBK. But that HBK fall was awkward and painful too. |

I liked Randy Orton's promo a lot this week and think it was one of his better ones. Orton has really been growing on me since after WrestleMania and I think I am a full fledged fan of his now. Orton's cool cold stare/slow walk to the ring adds a lot to his character as does his mannerisms in the ring. Then, this week, he cut a promo where he cut down all the reigning champions and boasted about himself. But he didn't do it in a cocky or arrogant way. He did it in a...dare I say...badass way. I think they are getting very close to turning Orton into a badass. Which is fine, but it's something they'll have to let progress on its own and not force. If they try too hard to force it, then it won't work out as well. But right now, Orton's character just keeps getting better and better. The only problem with this is that badasses almost always get turned into face characters because fans eventually start to love them. If they are looking to book Orton vs Punk down the line (and it looks like they are), then they better be careful or else the fans may very turn on Punk in favor of Orton. I notice how they keep referencing that Punk won the title in a fluke/shame/non-honorable way. It would be very easy for Punk to turn it around and have his win fit in well with his character. He is straight edge, right? He doesn't drink. He doesn't smoke. His only addiction is competition. Basically, he has high morals. The person he won the title from (Edge) was the complete opposite of that. Edge prided himself on being the ultimate opportunist. He won the WWE Title and World Title by cashing in his MITB contracts after the then champion was injured. Punk doing the same to Edge could be seen less as a "fluke victory" and more of Punk giving Edge a taste of his own medicine. And since that match, Punk has been in lots of athletic actions and has even beaten JBL and JBL and JBL and don't forget about that time he beat JBL. Another person that has been impressing me a lot lately is Kelly Kelly. Man, she's really improving in the ring. She's not great yet, but she's miles ahead of where she was when she first came into ECW. I'm interested in seeing how much more she'll improve. I hope they move away from the ditsy blonde image they used to have for her and make her more like Trish. They have a lot of similarities already: Both were hired because they were attractive models. Both came in as eye candy. Both sucked when they first started wrestling. Both showed a willingness to learn and improve. I doubt Kelly Kelly will get to Trish level (I doubt any other Diva can get to that level), but I like that she is improving. Candice's return didn't seem as important to me as it probably was suppose to. I've never really been a Candice fan. I do like her new haircut. It's very pretty. Her new face, not so much. I haven't seen the Raw battle royal or the Jericho/HBK promo yet. |
