The following is from WWE.com:

The night belongs to Jericho

At Unforgiven, Chris Jericho experienced both one of the lowest and one of the highest points of his impressive career. Despite receiving a righteous beating at the hands of Shawn Michaels earlier in the night, the first-ever Undisputed Champion went on to win the first-ever World Heavyweight Championship Scramble. Having beat out four other Superstars to win the gold, who will World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho defend the title against first? And now that he has proven himself as Raw’s “top-dog,” can the rivalry between Jericho and HBK be put to bed? Now that he’s defeated his rival and new World Heavyweight Champion, what does this mean for Shawn Michaels’ future and career?

Jericho was not originally scheduled to be part of the Scramble, and only received his slot after then-World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk was stripped of the title after he was rendered unable to defend it. The Straightedge Superstar was attacked in the locker room area by Randy Orton along with World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase and Manu, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Afa. With the championship gold around the waist of Jericho, and a team of impressive second and third-generation Superstars to blame, who will feel Punk’s wrath first? Also, what is the nature of the alliance between Orton, Rhodes, DiBiase & Manu? Have they forged a new coalition of ruthless Superstars?

World Tag Team Champions Rhodes & DiBiase’s performance wasn’t solely limited to the beating they administered to the former World Heavyweight Champion, however. The two also successfully defended their titles against Cryme Tyme, proving that there’s more to these competitors than impressive last names. With the more experienced Randy Orton seemingly in their corner, who will fall at the World Tag Team Champions’ feet next?

Yeah that kind of makes sense to me. HBK just beat the crap out of a man who made his life a living hell for the pass few month, but at the end of the night Y2J is not only just put in a Championship match out of the blue, but ends up winning. That won't be justice in HBK eye(s).

Eye(s).

Yeah, I really see no reason why it would end. Michaels beat him, but Jericho ultimately got the upper hand by going and getting bigger and better things, in the same night. I don't know if Michaels (kayfabe) would actually want the title, though. I think he would want to go after Jericho, but the title would probably be the last thing on his mind. Of course being a Michaels fan, though, I would love to see him at least contend for it once more.

I wonder what happened to Punk though...

So that's how Punk lost it and Jericho was put into the match.

Fucking lame way to lose the belt. :( ...although this opens the possibilites for a vicious Punk vs Orton feud that could elevate Punk higher up the card should it not be Orton winning over and over again.

While I don't think Jericho is quite world title level most of the time, I can see why he's champ now. He is basically the biggest heel on the brand - especially with Orton just now coming back.

I just can't wait to see how Punk and Jericho's respective directions go from here.

Edit: Wait. Is Punk feuding with Orton, or is he probably going to be feuding with the tag champs? :-/

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
They need someone to be fed to Orton when he returns. What better person than the former World Champion to put Orton back on the map?

I would prefer if WWE fed Rey to Orton.

I do like the new stable that Orton's leading.

I believe they called Afa's son, Afa, Jr, last night. Why is he suddenly being called "Manu"?

They never called him Afa on the ppv. I called him Afa in this thread when he hit the ring. The announcers said they didn't know who he was. Team Priceless introduced him as Manu.

I'm watching Raw and Regal is a pimp.

I'm also pissed because Raw is in Memphis next week and I didn't have the extra dough for tickets, so what gets announced for next week? Punk vs Jericho for the World title in a steel cage. :grumble:

CHL. He's getting crowd chants.

Damn, Rey has got a shitload of ink now.

So who's this guy Boune? I see he's actually allowed to do the shooting star press?

Wow, I haven't seen anyone do a flying hurricanarana in years. He's been doing that in ECW? WWE must really like this guy.

I REALLY like him. He's the most exciting guy I've seen in awhile. I should watch ECW more. :P

IT'S THE OLD MASK AGAIN!!! It only took three weeks for Kane to show it again after we all thought he would show it.

He came up through the indys as Matt Sydal. He's been all over. I'm shocked that the WWE is so behind him. They usually do nothing with cruiser weights. I guess someone backstage likes him.

Oh, should have realized that. I've heard his name a million times but I haven't really followed him. But I'm surprised myself. I thought both the Shooting Star Press and that flying Hurricanarana were banned (Mysterio used to use that as his finisher when he came to WWE, but suspiciously stopped using it a few years later) but he used both of them. I'm sure even if they weren't, he would have been told not to use them if someone didn't like him.

Kidman and Paul London both used the Shootingstar as a finisher and they were told to stop. But, I think one of them injured a bigger named talent and that's why. I guess enough time has passed...

I know Kidman hurt Chavo a few years ago while doing the move, then did this angle where he was "hesitant" to do it. But then I think he continued doing it for awhile after that, then later stopped.

Cade is amazing. He blends in so well with the background that you can't even tell that he's there.

He should wear his Mean Street Posse sweater from the ppv.

I'm suprised they allowed Manu to dress so much like Umaga. I wouldn't doubt it if there are a handful of kids and such that think Manu is Umaga.

I hope that Kane showing Rey his old mask as a hint isn't the first clue that they'll be taking the mask off Rey. :uhoh:

Unless they plan on letting Rey go, I doubt they will. Maybe they'll tease it or come close, but I doubt there will be a true unmasking of Rey Mysterio.

His mask is highly marketable in WWE. Take it away, and there's nothing. He's just another high flyer, albeit a very well known and successful one.

I was joking with my friend last night that maybe they are going to remove his mask and ditch him, using Evan Bourne as the next big high flyer in WWE.
