Fuck, I'm going to avoid TV today. I'm sure everyone is going to be sucking major patriotic penis today. It's not going to be as bad as it was in 2006, though. September 11th, 2011. That's going to be the worst though. I'll avoid TV for that entire month. |

So you guys get that too? I thought that stuff just aired in the New York area/market. At least they have an excuse - it happened there, and is considered the "worst day in New York history" which isn't really too far off, I don't think. |

The Best a Man can Get

The tributes to 9/11 are tasteful enough here, but from any American broadcaster it's overkill.. |

I think you actually have to be somewhat near the area to know it's not overkill... or a lot of it isn't, at least. Or in my opinion it's not. It was a horrible day, the people who were affected (meaning the victims, the ones who lost husbands, wives, kids, parents, firefighter buddies, police buddies, etc) just want to remember and pay tribute to those people. Like New York TV is pretty much paying tribute to everything WTC. I'm sure TV in Washington is paying tribute to the Pentagon for most of the time. It just depends where you are, TV-wise, and in relation to your connection to the area, which helps you to understand the tributes better. |

I live in the pacific northwest. Not only is TV littered with tributes and specials, but several firetrucks are set up downtown in a corner of one of the busiest roads in town with a flag and all that jive. Not to mention everyone gets really...patriotic around here, especially since we have some town events this time of year. |

I work first (although it's actually the only shift). I worked this morning. I haven't really slept in twenty four hours. I have seen everything 9/11 related (shows, commercials, tributes, shit in town). Fuck you!![]() Edit: Oh, and Hulk isn't dead, but Hulkamania is.

From the channel surfing I did a bit earlier, I didn't see anything on 9/11. Only when I visit Digg and Reddit are there any stories. |

Hulkamania isn't dead. Let Hogan show up for another special appearance and you'll see just how strong Hulkamania lives. Hulkamania is currently in hibernation. Nothing more.

Yes. Fine. For those people it's ok. National TV coverage, sometimes international, it's overkill, and that's what Kraul was saying. kthxbai. |

Did I deny that? I don't think I did... Anyway, I was coming home this morning around 5/5:30 on the Turnpike, and I actually saw the lights tribute they do every year near the spot of ground zero. You couldn't see both lights distinguished, but you could clearly see the shine where the light breaks into the clouds. It was kind of cool and eery at the same time. |

So I saw a picture of the firetrucks from yesterday in my town. I said they were set up on the most busy road of the town (at least one of them)? Yeah, well so they could have their little touching moment photograph, they blocked off half of the road leaving incoming traffic needing to find another way into town which are all narrow neighborhood streets) for the half hour or so it took them. This during one of the busiest times of the day (when people are going to work and school). Why they didn't do it saturday during the big town festival thingy, I don't know. They had that road blocked off then due to the parade and everything so the traffic wouldn't have been effected any more or less. But I guess then it wouldn't have been on 9/11 and would've made the bleeding hearts shed a tear. |
