It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
Thank God for DiBiase ending the match. Cole sounded too annoying on this particular segment.

PINATA! PINATA!

Yeah, that was messed up. Almost as messed up as the NWO parody of Arn Anderson giving HIS spot; not anyone else's spot, not the fans' spot, not Flair's spot, not Benoit's spot, not Dillon's spot, not Ole's spot, not his dog spot, but HIS spot, to Curt Hennig.

I wonder if any wrestler is as over in their home town as Lawler is in Memphis?

Bret Hart in Calgary.

...that's probably about it.

I literally laughed out loud when Arn... er, Nash, talked about the sand through an hourglass, then was like "these are the Days of Our Lives..." So damn funny.

I think Lawler is more over. The closet I can think of is Ric Flair in Charlotte.

I'm so glad Regal and Nobel have a storyline. It's actually a good feud.

I expect Adamle to announce that Jericho will face Michaels at No Mercy.

He should. Although it would be a little strange for HBK to be all about winning the World title when he just wants to kill Jericho.

Ladder, I think.

Edit: Yep, ladder.

That was... awesome. Actually when Adamle was going to announce the challenger, Michaels was the last person that came to my mind for some reason. The way he was talking, and the way they were using the camera, all I could think was "not Cena, not Cena, not Cena." Then I realized what I said a few weeks ago about how the feud should continue, then I thought Michaels. But I was thinking Ladder match from the beginning. That is going to be nothing short of awesome. I don't usually consider buying WWE PPV's, but I'm actually close to maybe thinking about it.

Before Jericho and Adamle talked, who was the blond guy who was near Adamle and Kelly Kelly?

I think it was "The Natural" Nic Nemeth. He was in FCW. I didn't hear the name he used on TV. I'm not 100% but that's who it looked like.

I read it was one of the Spirit Squad guys.

It started raining during HBK's short speech, so I missed it (damn satellite). I caught up to the part where he started hyping the match. I was thinking Iron Man match. It would have been cool, although maybe too similar to the Scramble that they just had last month (three times). Ladder match is a good gimmick match too. Plus, I don't remember the last time the gimmick match was used for the WWE/World Title. The last one I can think of was the Undertaker/Jeff Hardy match for the UD title long ago. I'm sure there has been one for the top title since then. I just cannot remember.

Technically Edge and Ric Flair fought in a TLC match for the title in early 2006. That's close enough, I think...

Some random new guy I guess. He just basically said "Hi" to Kelly Kelly.

Did anybody catch the commercial during RAW where they talked about SmackDown! moving in a few weeks? They also mentioned a "WrestleMania" show, which looks something similar to The Mania of WrestleMania, which they showed before WrestleMania XIX. I really liked the latter show, so it should be really good.

The Triple H vs Jericho vs Matt match is PPV worthy. WWE seems really desperate to get a big debut on MyNetwork TV.

I like to see Jericho vs HBK in a Ladder Match, but I also think they could have held this match at Survivor Series. HBK being announced as Jericho's opponent was predictable to me, but not the Ladder Match announcement.

Matt just seems weak compared to those two. Still probably better than just Jericho vs. Triple H, though, since that would probably bring back bad memories...

They should have Matt pin HHH to make people say "Holy Shit!" on the first show. It would help the credibility of the ECW title a little. But, I doubt it... I like Jericho and HHH better than Matt so it doesn't matter really.

Matt is not going to win and Triple H is not gonna take the pinfall.

So either Jericho or HHH pins Hardy? Imagine the IWC outcry if HHH pins Jericho again.

I never cared that Triple H pinned Jericho at WrestleMania X-8. I only cared that the lead-up to it was pretty much a disaster.

He just basically said "Hi" to Kelly Kelly.

He also tried to say hey to Jericho but had to settle for shaking Lance Cade's hand. Poor guy.

On Raw, Jericho called himself the best in the business today. Clearly, Jericho is going to be the one to take the loss at the SD! match. I would think Matt Hardy would be the guy that should take the fall. He's the champion that no one really recognizes as a legit top champion. He's on the show that only 1/3 of WWE's Raw audience and 1/2 of WWE's SD! audience watches. He should take the loss. It'd be predictable, yes, but it should be done. If Hardy would win, then it wouldn't make ECW or the ECW title look better. It'd make whomever he beat look worse.

The rating is in for the September 15th edition of WWE Raw and it's not good news for WWE or the USA Network. This week's Raw did a 2.6 rating. The show did hourly numbers of 2.51 and 2.7.

Not a single quarter hour broke 3.0. The highest rated segment, which came at 10:15, drew a 2.91. Granted - Raw was up against a very exciting Monday Night Football game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles. However - fall competition from the NFL is nothing new for WWE, which hasn't seen ratings like this in a decade.

Quote:

The low rating for RAW this week was not common knowledge backstage at yesterday’s TV tapings. Usually they get the numbers sometime during the afternoon, so either WWE didn’t want people to know about the low numbers or they didn’t get them yet. Most within the company didn’t know about the ratings until it broke on the internet, and the reactions were variations of "Holy S***!" There’s no word on how Vince feels about the number, or what actions he’ll take. While there was definitely competition from Monday Night Football, WWE has gone up against the NFL’s fall ratings in the past and a 2.6 for RAW is bad no matter how you look at it.

The second article was pretty funny for me since the title read, "WWE's Reaction to RAW Rating," to which I jokingly starting thinking it would be like "oh shit..." I guess I was pretty close.

I rarely pay attention to ratings. What's the average rating for Raw if a 2.6 is so terrible?

Edit: First "is" was supposed to be an "if".

I don't know what you just said, but I think going from the mid-3's to the mid 2's, when there was nothing that could have effected it besides football, something that NEVER got them to drop that low in the past, isn't a good thing. Those are holiday numbers, or sometimes even worse than holiday numbers. Last time they dropped this low, everyone tried to find all the excuses in the book in order to account for it. But this time there isn't anything, nothing as of yet at least.
