If Vic Mackey says it, I believe it...or he'll beat me with a phone book.

I didn't think the first two were cinematic masterpieces.

It didn't help that on my flight back to the states on R&R leave they showed it twice and on the way back to the desert they showed it twice again. The sequel that is. Alba = :hitit: |

I don't get this. If it's a reboot, why not Dr. Doom as the main villain? Is there anyone else that would work? Doom is the FF's most popular/well-known villain. It'd be like scoffing at a Batman movie featuring Joker or Spider-Man featuring Green Goblin. "What? Superman's main villain is going to be Lex Luthor? FAIL!" Although I've never been a huge Fantastic Four fan, I'd be up for a reboot. I did see the first in the theater and have the second on DVD so... It'd just be weird seeing different people play the parts, like it's going to be to see someone else play the roles in Spider-Man. Edited by Kraul, Sep 5 2010, 09:33 AM.

I think they called it a "fail" due to how poorly they handled Dr. Doom last time around, he was extremely underwhelming... well so was the whole film but still the point stands. Rise of the Silver Surfer was better in my opinion although the switching powers scenario was a bit hit and miss. I'm liking the idea of a reboot though, makes enough sense. Chris Evans was debatably the only good thing about the first two films. I also liked the guy who played The Thing & The Silver Surfer but overall Chris Evans seemed to be the only person who fit the character. Alba was meh, Ioan Gruffudd is a great actor but was terribly miscast and thus was horrible in this film.
It won't be that weird as long as the castings is better. If the film is better you will completely forget about who played the characters last time around... my evidence for this... Hulk Vs. The Incredible Hulk :surrender: I'm looking forward to this reboot and actually have quite high hopes for it |

I actually liked Ioan Gruffudd and Michael Chiklis in their respective roles from the first two movie. I'm indifferent about I'm surprised with how young they went with Richards in the upcoming movie. |

I kinda have hopes for this movie, it's just a shame we'll never have Doom in the Marvel Cinematic universe. Loki is a B+ player compared to Doom. |

I like the looks of this movie and it may be good, but I don't see it as the Fantastic Four. Just seems like they are changing too much about the characters. Even the origin and Doom are seemingly different than the books. It may be a really good movie, but not a good interpretation of the comic. |

For what it's worth, the movie is currently sitting at 14% on Rotten Tomatoes. Not very promising, indeed. I'm currently debating whether I should see the film in theaters or not. If I do, it'll probably end up being a last-minute decision. |

14%! Wow... That being said though, that's only based on 12 reviews so far! Better to wait and see if it averages out a little higher when more reviewers have submitted their reviews. |

Well, let's see, they miscast the entire movie and changed the entire story. Yeah, I'd say it's probably going to suck. |

I haven't seen it yet, but from the reports it's a complete disaster. Even though I wanted Doctor Doom in the Marvel cinematic universe (looks like that door has closed as far as the Avengers are concerend) I actually wanted this reboot to be a good movie. It cannot be this hard to make a Fantastic Four movie and not have Doom look like some buster. |
