Vince Wants Wrestling To Appear More Realistic

Vince McMahon is said to want wrestling to become more real. Former WCW superstar Norman Smiley was hired as a trainer for WWE's developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling because of his background experience in realistic Japanese wrestling.

Officials would like wrestlers to make their punches appear that it's connecting to the opponent and to perform moves that are more realistic. McMahon would like the wrestlers to put their hands up in defense when receiving a punch. Management have debated for more than a year on to use a knockout finish, which was recently done with the Undertaker and Big Show match at No Mercy. When WWE went into HD programming earlier this year the wrestlers were told to work closer to not reveal the unrealistic moves.

Does this mean their storylines are going to go in that direction? Unlikely.

Everyone knows it is unrealistic. Whatever.

They will probably wait until the Big Show vs UT feud concludes, then start to slip them in. That's a way for people to lose without having to get pinned or submitting. It reminds me of when SCSA lost to Bret Hart by passing out in the Sharpshooter. Then it all became about "He never gave up". A knockout loss will probably be made to save people form a straight up loss or make the guy doing the knocking out look dangerous.

Hopefully very few. There's a reason why pins and submissions are popular finishes over count outs and KO's. The first group are exciting, the latter dull of dogshit.

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
Dull of dogshit?

At any rate, I wouldn't mind KO endings as long as it's not often.

I think this news applies here:

LOP

WWE announcers were informed to refer to talent as "entertainers" instead of wrestlers or Superstars. The change was made to re-establish WWE as an entertainment-touring event instead of a sporting event. By doing so would take the power away from the Athletic Commissions in certain states and keep the company from having to pay taxes on their events.

-- Vince McMahon has banned the term "sports entertainment." Instead, they're going to be using the term "entertainment." Additionally, the terms "Superstars" and "wrestlers" have also been banned.
