Honestly, who throws a shoe

They just showed a news break during the game and it was talking about Bush's visit in Iraq when a reporter decided to throw a shoe (size 10) at him.

You can watch it and read about it here.

I saw the exact same thing. I guess you're watching the Jets vs. Bills, huh?

It was pretty funny. I like having a President with a sense of humor that jokes about the size of the shoe instead of telling the secret service to like shoot everyone in the room or make everyone take off their shoes and throw them in the garbage or something.

How the fuck did he manage to get out of the way of those? Those were two pretty accurate throws. I bet he could dodge a bullet with those reflexes.

The Yankees should offer that reporter a contract.

Lol, yeah Whosey I'm watching the Jets/Bills game.

After watching it again, it seems that the reporter was rushing to get the second one off.

It's a big insult in Iraq to be hit with the sole of a shoe. When Saddm's statue was toppled, many people hit it with the soles of their shoe.

That's because they couldn't afford to hit it with anything else... poor bastards.

His shoe is probably the only projectile he could use, bar busting an expensive camera...

I think it's funny, and Bush matrix-esque dodging was awesome

What was he pissed about? Saddam would still probably be in office, and probably would have killed that idiot by now if it wasn't for Bush.

...which would probably be dead by Saddam's hand anyway?

I'm not defending Bush in any way, but I honestly can't see how Bush's intentions for Iraq, what he was trying to do with military action, and the ultimate outcome trying to be achieved, is worse than what Saddam's reign brought to Iraq. Especially since his reign probably wouldn't have ended until he died... or tripped off a stage...

After the first shoe, watch Bush's face, it's like: "Come here ya little bastard, ill shove MINE up your ass!"

Seriously, in three months Bush will have an interview and asked about it: "I didn't know about the first shoe until just before I entered the press room, there was a little t.v..."

Bush's plan for Iraq would have been plastic fantastic if it had have worked. It didn't. More people die per day under American rule than under Saddam's rule. By no means was Saddam great, but Iraqis surely preferred a relatively stable if evil dictator who was home grown over some stranger who invaded a sovereign nation resulting in zero stability and the same amount of evil. Picture America being invaded by Saddam Hussein with the exact same circumstances. Are you telling me that you wouldn't have some resentment towards the man? Repeating the mantra "Saddam was evil lol" ignores a whole helluva lot of what happened in Iraq, and why Iraqis might feel the way they do.

But as long as he had the right intentions, amirite? American democracy for all!
