I've been told this by other computer users and I'm not sure if anyone still uses it but it's not a good idea right now.

I stopped using it awhile ago.

Users of Microsoft's Internet Explorer are being urged by experts to switch to a rival until a serious security flaw has been fixed.

The flaw in Microsoft's Internet Explorer could allow criminals to take control of people's computers and steal their passwords, internet experts say.

Microsoft urged people to be vigilant while it investigated and prepared an emergency patch to resolve it.

Internet Explorer is used by the vast majority of the world's computer users.

"Microsoft is continuing its investigation of public reports of attacks against a new vulnerability in Internet Explorer," said the firm in a security advisory alert about the flaw.

Microsoft says it has detected attacks against IE 7.0 but said the "underlying vulnerability" was present in all versions of the browser.

Other browsers, such as Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Safari, are not vulnerable to the flaw Microsoft has identified.

STAY HYPED!!!
I use Firefox myself and have for several years now. I hate IE. What turned me off, oddly enough, had nothing to do with security (although, that would do it now). I just hated how simplistic IE was. At the time, they didn't even have tabbed browsing. I think they may have it now, but I'm not going back to find out.

It's one of the slowest browsers around. Mozilla and Chrome are much faster even if they require a bit more memory

I am Godzilla, you are Japan.
I started using Avant pretty much as soon as I got my computer, like 5 years ago. It runs on the same engine as IE, but using a different interface. A few years back I switched to Firefox and Opera occasionally.. having all three still installed. Then when Chrome BETA came out I started to use that, it was fine for the first week or two, then I started to get blue screened every time I tried to load it. So I went back to Firefox, only now Firefox is fudging me up as well.. If I do any searches on google and try and click on a result, it takes me to some stupid search page tha has nothing to do with google, nor gives me what I'm after. So now I'm back on Avant.. considering switching back to Chrome soon, when I can be bothered.. now that the official release is out, I'm assuming that blue screen thing should have been fixed by now.

I've been hearing some great things about the newly-released, Google Chrome. I think I might download it over the weekend. Opera's starting to bore me a little bit.
