Don't second guess me bro - I used to be a moderator. What the fuck is a DGUSA PPV doing in this tournament? And more importantly, what is it? |

They're a Japanese wrestling company and they are either touring or moved to the US or something like that. I've seen a handful of their wrestlers in action elsewhere before and they were quite impressive. Namely CIMA, Yoshino and Doi. Not sure what the PPV itself was like though. I think New Noise nominated it. |

Easily the best wrestling pay-per-view of 2009. The event probably won't make it past the first round because no one has ever seen it before, but I figured that I'd give it a shot. The Outsider pretty much nailed the backstory of the company on the head, but if you're interested in learning more, do a Wiki search for it or something. Really great wrestling that should be seen by everyone. |

There was a tie, so I'll use my vote to break this tie: TNA No Surrender 2006 (September 24, 2006) - 3 WWF Survivor Series 2001 (November 18, 2001) - 2 The big stand out for the 2001 Survivor Series was the end of the invasion angle. I thought that was poorly handled and it was no surprise which team would win. TNA No Surrender 2006 saw an excellent tag team Ultimate X match, Joe main eventing, and the huge surprise announcement that Kurt Angle had joined TNA. WWE WrestleMania XX (March 14, 2004) TNA No Surrender 2005 (July 17, 2005) WWE Royal Rumble 2007 (January 28. 2007) WWF WrestleMania X-7 (April 1, 2001) WWF Wrestlemania 2000/XVI (April 2, 2000) WWE Survivor Series 2002 (November 17, 2002) WWE SummerSlam 2000 (August 27, 2000) TNA No Surrender 2006 (September 24, 2006)

Guerrero/Benoit embrace at the end as both world champs beats everything else imo. Especially during the time. |

I always found Guerrero kinda dull and Benoit was about as entertaining as a kick to the groin. I'm fairly certain I wasn't watching wrestling at the time. EDIT: I read wiki a few minutes ago and they quoted a column concerning WMX7 that I think sums up why it's up there as the...second best (or so) PPV ever: "[the PPV]will go down in history as one of the most spectacular and surprising." I certainly can't think of any PPV that was more spectacular, extravagant or surprising. Five star matches throughout and production values out of this world. It was a fantastic PPV and it beats one moment between two of the most dreary champions of recent times. Edited by Nubochanozep, Feb 5 2010, 01:35 AM.

Damn straight. Probably the best PPV of all time is losing because people liked seeing Benoit and Eddie hug? Is that what I'm reading? |

I liked WrestleMania XIX a bit more or equal than X-Seven. ![]() If X-Seven goes out, it'd be interesting to see which other PPV could win. Come on, this tournament is predictable thanks to X-Seven. |

This isn't a "who can fuck up the votes to create the most exciting finale" tournament, it's the best wrestling PPV tournament. Wake up. Guerrero was a boring champion and Benoit had the charisma of a dirty sock. Plus he's a murderer. Other than that Wrestlemania XX had nothing except a few Stone Cold stunners to two complete duds. |

I've got zero interest in participating in this tournament now. We both know it - it's a joke now that what's almost universally regarded as one of the best PPV's of all time has been knocked out by a thoroughly mediocre PPV. |

Even worse, it was knocked out because people didn't want the results to be predictable. What's the point of having a "greatest" style tournament if people don't vote for the best candidate and instead try to fuzz the results for a laugh? My next tournament should be better, I think. Or, at least, it's an idea that I personally like a lot.
