who was he again?
Exactly. He's Mach Man's dad, but I've never heard of him. Sad that he's passed, but it doesn't really affect me since this is the first I've heard of him.

Also, this is the first I remember knowing that Macho Man and The Genius are brothers. Wow. One will go down as one of the all time greats. The other, most people even here don't even know.

John Angelo Poffo (April 10, 1925 – March 4, 2010) was a former professional wrestler and wrestling promoter. He ran International Championship Wrestling for a number of years, holding cards in Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas. He is most noted for being the father of "Macho Man" Randy Savage and "Leaping" Lanny Poffo/The Genius.

He made a few appearances in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1995 managing his son, Randy Savage. He was once attacked by "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who put him in a figure four leglock. In 1995, he was inducted into the WCW Hall of Fame.

Former WWE star Randy "Macho Man" Savage, real name Randy Poffo, has issued the following statement concerning the death of his father Angelo Poffo.

Official Statement of Randy Poffo Regarding the Passing of his
Father, Angelo Poffo

I have always been so proud to call Angelo Poffo my father. He is a
great example of a self-sacrificing, hard-working man who always put
his family first. As a parent, he was tough, but always fair. He was a
true leader, and I am honored to be his son.

My father has left this world, but he will never leave my heart. He
has always been my hero and my mentor, and the priceless gifts he gave
I will have and cherish forever.

My family and I would like to thank my dad’s fans for all the support
and well wishes they have expressed this past week.

Randy Poffo
