6SW Hall of Fame

Cybrus has allowed me to retry this thing. Basically, I want this thing done - 6SW has been around for a long time, as far as wrestling forum's go, and I think our history permits us to have a legitimate Hall of Fame.

I don't know how often we'll do this thing - twice a year seems like a reasonable period for starters. We can discuss that later if something comes up, let's just worry about actually getting this done for now eh?

I think that seven inductees is a reasonable number. It's not too big and not too small, and around the number that the WWE inducts every year.

===

METHOD: In this thread, submit nominations for wrestlers who you think should be inducted. Let's keep it to three nominations per user. We can add more later. Once all nominations have been set, we begin voting in a new thread. The wrestlers with the highest number of votes will go through (it'll probably be a vote-for-more-than-one-option system so we don't have to go through multiple voting threads) and be inducted into the class of 2010, Part 1.

  • No need to provide reasoning - the voting process will weed out the weak nominations
  • I don't care what type of wrestler you nominate - they can be a manager, diva, announcer, champion or even a tag team (which would be one nomination, not two) - it's your choice. Similarly, they can be retired or active, dead or alive, within or without, estranged or accepted.
  • Limit of three nominations per user (at first)
  • Please vote so this will be successful finally :(
  • The actual Hall of Fame thread will have pictures and a brief synopsis of the wrestlers career
  • If someone wants to create a banner or some shit that'd be pretty cool
  • ADDED RULE: The order of inductions, once voted for, will be first according to number of votes and second according to alphabetical order

===

TIMELINE
April 1: Nominations begin
April 8: Nominations close, voting begins
April 15: Voting closes, I and any willing volunteers will write up the synopses and when they're done they go in a stickied thread which becomes the Six Star Wrestling Hall of Fame

GO!

Are tag teams valid too?

I don't see any reason to exclude them. They'd enter as one entry as well, since they're kinda inducted in tandem.

Damn, this is going to be difficult. I see like 12 names that look first round inductees to me, but only 7 will make it! :lol:

Just saw this new addition. It's a good rule. Before I read this I was going to suggest that each class be inducted based on active career dates. Like, for instance, say Stone Cold, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, and Kurt Angle were inducted. Hogan's career proceeded all others, so he'd be listed first. Then Bret Hart. Then Stone Cold. Then Kurt Angle.

Your way kind of confuses me. First by number of votes and second by alphabetical. Does this mean that in case of a tie vote, we'll induct those alphabetically. Or does it mean the person with the highest vote gets top billing then everyone else just goes in alphabetically?

eg:

Austin - 10 votes
Rock - 10 votes
Randy Savage - 9 votes
Ricky Steamboat - 9 votes

The order would be
1. Austin
2. Rock
3. Randy Savage
4. Ricky Steamboat

Austin and Rock came first and Austin comes before Rock because A comes before R.

I think it's fair to say that we've got all the nominations we really need at this point. I doubt that there are any wrestlers not already on the list who can bump out the top seven. Does anyone object to bringing the voting period foward by a bit?

---

The way I figure we'll do voting is by a tally system in one (new) thread. This means that all wrestlers will be listed, and you will have seven points to throw around to seven different nominees. In other words, you vote for the seven people you want to progress to the Hall of Fame. The voting system will work the same way that the POTM and WOTM things are conducted. Ties will be handled by way of a separate vote, with members being allocated a certain number of points equal to the remaining spaces in the Hall of Fame to settle the tie. In the event of an unbreakable tie, both wrestlers will be inducted.

Thoughts? A fuller explanation will be provided in the actual thread.
