What's the best way to explain this in the shortest way possible? Ok, I'll try it like this: He's not so much evil as he is deranged and full of hate. He belonged to the Black family. The Black family believes in a pure-blood race and hates anyone that didn't come from an all wizarding family. Many of the Black family members even joined Voldemort. Sirius was the exact opposite of it. He fought against Voldemort and judged wizards by the type of people they are and not by their blood purity. Siruis's family dies so Kreacher becomes his property. Kreacher still has the Black family beliefs tied into him, but must obey Sirius. So he basically curses everyone out around him while saying what his mistress (Siruis's mom) would think of mudbloods and traitors being in the house. But in the seventh book, Harry shows Kreacher some compassion (all Sirius does is treat him like scum), and Kreacher becomes nice. |

Interesting. On a side note, the comic company that published Poison Elves, where the Marauder comes from, was called Sirius. |

What's more interesting is that he could be evil (but not really), but he cannot because he's bound to Sirius. Voldemort broke Sirius' cousin ( Bellatrix Lestrange) out of Azkaban (along with lot of other of his supporters). Bella works for Voldemort. Kreacher wants to serve Bella. But Kreacher knows a lot about the Order of the Phoenix, so if Kreacher did work for Bella he could basically tell Voldemort how to destroy the Order, even though he wouldn't really be doing anything really evil. If that makes any sense. |
