I believe we've had this discussion in the past, but whatever. What are some of the stars you have autographs of, or have actually met in person? This has come up for me mainly because I'm completely and utterly pissed that my friend met Martin Brodeur last week (he's basically a legend at this point, current goalie for the Devils who is considered one of the best of all-time) and didn't ask if I wanted to go. Here are some of mine: "(AS)" denotes actually meeting these people in person Wrestling Kevin Nash Brian Kendrick (AS, ROH show) Jim Cornette (AS, ROH show) Hulk Hogan (got this from my cousin; it's back from the 80's when Hogan was still wearing white tights) Baseball Jim Leyritz (AS) Mickey Rivers (AS) Robert Scott (played for the Black Yankees) Don Zimmer Paul O'Neill (ball and picture) Sparky Lyle (AS) Mariano Rivera Others Andy Houston (NASCAR driver) Ken Daneyko (AS, popular player for the Devils) I used to have Booker T's, Terry Funk's and Al Snow's autograph (met the last two at JAPW shows some years back) but lost them in the process of moving. |

The grand majority of any "celebrity" encounters are wrestling related, to me. I don't really care about celebrities for the most part and I'm not much for autographs, but I've gotten before because it's just like...eh, why not? Autographs John Cena (on a "Finally The Rock Came Back To Seattle" shirt from 2002) Molly Holly (same shirt) Bull Buchanon (same shirt) Harvey Wippleman (same shirt) Brooklyn Brawler (same shirt) ...and I think there are a few more on the shirt (been in storage since '03) Jeff Hardy (on a $5 bill the day before the t-shirt signings above) Torrie Wilson (WCW Magazine and a WWE generic paper) Billy Kidman (same as Torrie) Raven (two or three times on stuff I've bought from his old store) Portia Perez (on a pic I got because it was the only I didn't already have )...there may be a few more I'm forgetting. Wrestling Personalities I've Met John Cena Molly Holly Bull Buchanon Harvey Wippleman Brooklyn Brawler Jeff Hardy (twice) Torrie Wilson (twice) Billy Kidman Raven (twice, though the first only kind of counts cause I froze )Rico (twice, absolutely top class guy) Layla Maryse (met them at Denny's when paying the checks. So I kinda sorta have had dinner with Layla and Maryse...they were just two tables away, though - and Maryse is one of the nicest people I have EVER met)Eric Bischoff Howard Finkel Charles Robinson Mike Cioda Dave Hebner Earl Hebner Puppet The Psycho Dwarf (was CRAZY drunk and almost got into a fight with my friend) ...not sure if there's anyone else. Does having The Kat (legit) comment on my MySpace in response a comment I gave her count? jay-kay ![]() Non-Wrestling "Celebrities" I've Met Wolfpac (a band, I bought a porn DVD from one of them after the show )C.J. Pierce from Drowning Pool ...and I think that's it. I've probably met more, but I don't care about non-wrestling celebrities a lot unless they're hot. You could count one of the local weathermen under the autographs/met pile if you want (I don't). Back in fourth grade, he was the nephew of my teacher so she had him come in one day to teach us about meteorology. Such a massive celebrity that he is he offered to give us all autographs, but he didn't want to sign twenty-something pieces of paper so he signed one then photocopied it twenty-something times. Even then I thought it was stupid. And he smelled bad, too. Way too much aftershave. Edited by Kraul, Aug 3 2010, 01:19 AM.

That almost reminds me, I got an autograph this year from the Angels' third catcher (forgot his name) before a game because I was sitting at field level. He signed my back-up ticket (since you print tickets out these days, I had him sign the one I technically didn't use to get in but had just in case my first one ripped or something) but forgot about it and ultimately threw it out. This just suddenly reminded me as well that I got autographs from a few Orioles players when I went to Camden Yards in May. I'm not sure who they were off the top of my head, but it was a free signing which is amazingly awesome in this day and age. My favorite encounter is a tie between Jim Leyritz, Al Snow, and Brian Kendrick. When I met Leyritz before opening day, I asked him about how he got his batting stance, which is probably the most interesting thing about him (besides the fact that he killed a woman while driving drunk, which to me is a bit less severe only because the person he hit ran the light and was actually drunker than he was). He told me he broke his leg, and that's how he got that goofy stance. As for Snow, I met him during my markish phase, so at that point I didn't really like him. At that point he was still announcing for Sunday Night Heat, so I went up to him and asked "So you're still going to be announcing for Heat?" to which he replied, "yeah I am!" in one of those blow-him-off type voices. Actually I thought Kendrick was the best when I met him this year. When I got up to him I was like "hey, can you sign it as Spanky?" Not only did he enthusiastically agree, he even drew a flower with a smiley face on it.

Kraul is probably that fat, ugly, hairy, middle-aged wrestling fan you see standing by himself, wolfing down a corn dog at various wrestling events. As evidenced by all the autographs he has. My autographs: Bob Hawke, former Prime Minister (equiv: President) Bob Carr, former Premier (equiv: Govenor) Fin |

I can add two more to my list that I just found out about today. I ordered a CD from a band called Angelspit (one of my new favorite bands) used from Amazon a week ago or so and I got the actual CD yesterday. Well, I didn't get around to looking at the booklet until today and what do I find inside? Two autographs and short messages by both members. Very nice little surprise. It also made me remember that after an ICP concert back in '04, I met and hung out with for about a half hour one of the openers, F.I.L.T.H.E.E. Immigrants. They're very small time, with the most notable thing they've done is work with Tommy Lee on one of his tracks for the Methods of Mayhem album. The CD is signed but I haven't listened to it for so long I completely forgot about it.
