It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!

Wikipedia

The show is about a British husband-and-wife comedy writing team who travel to Hollywood to remake their successful British TV series with disastrous results.

I'm interested in watching this. It has potential to be good. Features Matt LeBlanc playing himself. Recently I started watching Joey (tv series) again and not much ago, I read an article and it linked to the trailer.

I've got mixed feelings about the first episode, it had a couple of laughs but overall it was fairly average. That being said they did have to set up the whole series within the space of half hour so it would be unfair to judge it based purely on that one episode. Also Matt LeBlanc hasn't really come into it yet so it will be interesting to see if it picks up next episode.

This is something that I want to watch just because Matt LeBlanc is on it. I have watched all the former Friends shows, I believe. But this is on a network that I don't have, so I'd have to catch it online.

Also, Matthew Perry (Chandler) also has a new show coming out called "Mr. Sunshine".

Just finished watching the first two episodes. The first episode was okay, but it gets much better with the second episode and not only thanks to LeBlanc being there, but it looks like it's gonna be fun to watch Sean and Beverly getting fucked over by Merc and other people as well. :tu:

Just watched the first episode (online). Am I seeing things or is that Uncle Veron auditioning for the part? He's lost a lot of weight or he wore a body suit in the HP films?

Really, I can't believe I waited a whole week when it was online

Anyway I quite enjoyed the second episode, it was good to see Matt Leblanc again. Looking forward to see how all this plays out for them

The third episode of Episodes has been the best thus far. The characters are all starting to click. At first, I was just interested to see Matt LeBanc again. But some of these other characters are starting to become attractions as well. Matt is still the best part of the show, though. He comes off as likeable as Joey was on Friends but not as goofy and dumb as Joey was on Friends. He is actually kind of smart and reasonable on this show.

"Yeah, well, I kinda of have what you need to make it in that business"
"What? You're speaking..anatomically?"
"It's like a third arm"
"seriously?"
"Well, without the hand"
"I assumed"

"So, anyway...we hung out a little bit, he showed me his cock, and we flew home"

3rd episode was funny. Matt is great, but the same can be said for Sean and Beverly. Looking forward to the 4th episode.

This series just keeps getting better, really enjoyed the third episode. I'm really curious to find out who Sean gets with for Beverly to leave him as they havn't really introduced anyone else yet. You just know their shows going to end in disaster

Watched the 4th episode, it's still funny. I know some of you may disagree with me, but I'm actually thinking that at this point, Beverly is the best character on the show. Just watching her reactions and seeing her getting pissed off seems highly entertaining to me.

If anyone wonders about the spanish dialogue between Matt and Beverly's maid, Matt asked if Beverly was a headache and the maid agreed and talked briefly about it.

"Just this once, don't be a cunt"

I really didn't find the fourth episode funny. I mean, it had a few laugh moments, but the episode wasn't designed to be funny. It was a deeper episode that let us get to know Matt more and let Matt and Beverly bond a bit, only not really. It was a good episode.

As far as characters, I'm still watching for Matt, but I really like the interaction between the three main characters. That's the selling point of the show.

I thought it balanced the humour and seriousness within this episode really well. You really felt for Matt when you were supposed to and the funny moments came at just the right points so you didn't get too down when watching it. I agree as well with what you two were saying, the interaction between Sean, Beverly & Matt is definitely one of the best parts of this show

Just finished watching the 5th episode, I'm still liking the show. You now get to learn about how Sean and Beverly met as well as Carol and Merc's affair details. I found that interesting.

Carol: You wanna hear something really pathetic? I've actually become an expert on ocular blindness. I'm online constantly reading all the latest research and so far, there is really no hope... that I... I just keep dreaming that someday, some doctor somewhere will find a cure and give that poor woman her sight back so he can fucking leave her.

I think next week's episode will most likely start off with the starting scene from the first episode.

Just finished watching the 6th episode. I thought it wasn't as good as the other, but it had some moments.

Matt and Beverly's interactions was the best part of the episode, from the car crash up to the ending of the episode. I love Tamsin Greig, she's awesome. :tu:

For the final episode:

Matt: Seany never did a thing with Morning.
Beverly: Why didn't you tell me?
Matt: Well... the self-cockblock, not my kind of move.
Beverly: Oh, god!

Cy, I'll tell you a recap of Episode 5 and 6 in case you haven't watched those yet. Check the spoilers at your risk.

Episode 5

Episode 6

And the first season is over. :( I loved it.

I hope Episodes gets a second season despite TV ratings not being good in the UK and the States. The way it ended doesn't show that Episodes is over yet because Pucks! gets the greenlight, but you also have Matt, Sean and Beverly hating each other.

I found on Episode 7 that Sean and Merc were the most entertaining, especially Sean. This was pretty much his episode.

Yeah, I still haven't seen the final 2 episodes. I am surprised that the first season was so short. I wonder why that is?

Has anyone been to the TV.com forums for this show? They hate this show over there. I've been just reading the comments from here and almost everyone seems to like the show. But I go there and read all the crap comments and I was legitimately surprised.

It's shorter because that's the format most UK shows are produced like that. Episodes doesn't have a huge budget like most American shows, so they produce a short amount of episodes per series (that's how Brits call a season). It's produced by a British company (Hat Trick Productions), despite the two writers being American (David Crane from Friends and Jeffrey Klarik from Mad About You). Dunno if that explains things to you, but just my two cents.

Yeah, I saw how people reacted to it at tv.com. In Metacritic, most critics seem to enjoy Episodes.

Tamsin Greig has revealed that talks are under way for a second series of Episodes.

The actress, who starred alongside Stephen Mangan and Matt LeBlanc in the comedy show, told Richard Bacon's 5 Live show that "some parties" had already said yes to a follow-up.

"We are now in negotiations," she commented.

Speaking about the upturn in positive reviews for the programme, she added: "I think in some ways it was pitched in the wrong way. It was pitched as Matt LeBlanc's new comedy, but I don't think that it is a comedy. I think it was a drama about Hollywood and if you find it funny it's because the whole world is ridiculous. That's what happens."

Episodes aired on BBC Two in the UK and on Showtime in the US.

BBC Two has reportedly ordered a second series of its comedy Episodes starring Matt LeBlanc. The Sun is reporting the BBC has ordered a second series of Episodes. The seven part comedy starred Matt LeBlanc as "himself" with Tasmin Greig and Stephen Magan. The tabloid reports all three actors have agreed to return for the second series of Episodes.

Episodes launched on BBC Two in January with an impressive 1.9 million viewers but its second episode saw figures drop to 1.5 million viewers. Across its first run figures continued to fall although its 5th episode did see a brief rise in ratings.

The comedy is produced by the BBC and the American broadcaster Showtime.

Matt is back in BBC hit

HIT comedy Episodes is to return for a second series after Matt LeBlanc agreed to sign on the dotted line.

The Friends actor, 43, was last to come on board after his Brit co-stars Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan earlier said yes.

Matt plays himself in the BBC2 series about British writers remaking a hit UK telly show in LA.

The first series of Episodes pulled in ratings of two million in the UK but was a critical smash in the US.

Tamsin, 44, said: "Episodes went down a storm in America."

And how long of a break is usually between episodes? If they literally only do 7 episodes a year, then i'm going to forget about this show before the next season.

I think the second season could air by the end of this year or earlier next year.

They have yet to determine how many episodes Season 2 will last. Hopefully 12-15 if Showtime is having a bigger hand on this than BBC for Season 2.
