The page doesn't seem to want to load properly (could be because of poor bandwidth too), but I can see the link at the top says "Wii bundle sports". So I take it they were all sports games.

No, not really. There was a mix. You had your dancing type games (Just Dance, Just Dance 2, Michael Jackson's This is It), you had your games made from movies (Toy Story 3, Despicable Me, Are you smarter than a 5th grader, Bolt, etc), you had family style games (Carnival Games, Disney Think Fast, Family Party, ect) and you had some sports games. The games that I would be interested in buying (such as Mario Galaxy or Super Mario Brothers) required you to pay an additional $15 on top of your bottom line, so I didn't even look at those games much. |

I am looking up the best Wii games available to see what good games I could buy. Almost every site I go to lists Zedla: Twilight Princess at #2 and Super Mario Galaxy 2 at #1. Whosey, you have Mario Galaxy 2, right? I know you said it was a great game. But what is the game about? Is it similar to Mario 64 or the Super Mario games? |

Beat Ocarina. I really love playing Gandondorf's Tower. Each of the six side rooms, while very easy and very short, are all very fun to play. I wish you could go back and play the rooms over without having to play the entire game again. Actually, I wish I could go back and play some of the bosses and mini-bosses again too. I love fighting against the fake Link in the Water Temple. He's very easy to beat if you have the Biggoron Sword or use the Megaton Hammer, since fake Link cannot really counter either of those. But if you fight him with the Master Sword, it can make for a very long battle. Which is fun. I would also like to play the Fire Temple boss again, since I enjoy playing against him. I really don't like the Twins in the Shadow Temple, though. My least favorite boss. I started Majora's Mask, but quit right after getting back to my human form. Ocarina, to me, has always been a higher ranked game than Majora's Mask, so I always feel like I'm downgrading a bit when playing Mask after Ocarina. So I'll give it a day or two and start again. I'm sure I'll get back into it when I play it again. But I can already tell that I've forgotten A LOT about this game. I played Ocarina from memory. There was only a few times when I actually had to think about what to do. I also played Ocarina over and over. I played Majora's Mask a lot too, but not nearly as much. I may have forgotten enough that it'll be like playing it for the first time again. Well, probably second or third time since I remember most of the basics and have just forgotten some of the finer details. I haven't even put Twilight Princess back in my Wii since starting Ocarina. It's a great game, but I really want to play these two first. I think I may start Twilight Princess over completely, just to have that "complete game" feel. I don't really like starting a game, stopping for a while, then just coming back in the middle of a game. I'd rather start a game and play it completely through, even if I have to replay certain parts. I haven't really decided yet though. |

I really loved Wind Waker. I think it turned a lot of people off because of the style, but it had a really good story, even made Gandondorf seem more human and you could even sympathize with what he was trying to do. |

The cel-shaded graphics are a turn-off to me. I never had a game cube and it isn't available on Wii, so I've never actually played it. But looking at the graphics of Ocarina and Majora's Mask and then looking at the graphics of Twilight Princess, the cel-shaded graphics of Wind Maker just look cartoonish. Also, I've read that the great sea is almost too large and that sailing took a long time. BTW, if you want a fun Zelda site to look at, I recommend Zelda Dungeon. It has something on every Zelda game. Some games have more info than others, but the site over all is a good read. |

x1000. (breathes in deeply. exhales slowly) So I was playing Majora's Mask. On the first day, I completely beat the temple. No problems. So I immediately go back to the big Goron to get permission to use the Keg bomb, which will allow me to both upgrade my sword and get Epona. So I pass the test by blowing up the boulder in front of the Goron racetrack. I go back and get my free Keg bomb. I warp to Romani Ranch and blow up that boulder. I get Epona. I warp back to Goron village and race the Gorons (which I suck at and it takes me several tries) and win the gold dust. I hand over my normal sword to have it upgraded to a Razor sword (which takes until the next morning). I warp back to Romania Ranch and save the cows that night, getting a third bottle. I warp back to Goron Village and pick up my Razor Sword. I immediately hand it back with the gold dust to have it upgraded (which will take yet another day). I warp back to Romani Ranch on the second day and make it night to help the grown girl deliver her milk. I fight off those to guys and win the mask. I warp back to Goron Village and pick up my Guilded Sword. So in one three day cycle, without saving at all, I accomplished the following: Beat the second temple Got permission to use the Keg Bombs Won the Goron Race Won a second bottle with Gold dust Upgraded to a Guilded Sword Got Epona Won a third bottle with milk. Won the Romani Mask That is a lot to do in one three day cycle. But before I get a chance to play the song of time and save all my progress, my Wii froze up (second time it's done this, actually). It was completely froze. I couldn't do anything. Holding down the power button wouldn't even solve anything. I had to unplug my Wii from the wall and plug it back up to get it to unfreeze. Thus I lost everything. So, yeah, now I have to do all that again. I'm so pissed that I just walked away from the game. I'll beat it again, I know I will. But it'll be a few days before I will. |

My Wii has never frozen, something I've always liked about it really as I've never had that problem although I wouldn't say I've ever played on it for pro-longed periods of time so maybe that's the reason. I mainly use the Wii to watch TV now though as you can download BBC Iplayer onto it and just stream the past weeks worth of programs whenever you want, beats watching them on the laptop any day. |

Do you remember what did when it froze up? Like did it just freeze or did you notice it was because of something you actually did? For me, I noticed that both times was playing Zelda (Ocarina first time, Mask second time) and I'd go into a town shop and press a button. I know I said I'd be disinterested in playing Majora's Mask again for a few days, but I ended up playing it again before I went to bed Tuesday. I really do try t do as much as I can during any 3 day cycle, which is fun for a one sitting but disastrous if the game isn't saved for whatever reason (see above). When I played, I did all of the following: Beat the second temple Opened the Goron race track Won the Goron Race (only took 2 tries this time) Won a second bottle with Gold Dust Upgraded to a Razor sword and then immediately to a guilded sword Got Epona Saved Romania Ranch, winning a third bottle Helped the older girl deliver milk, winning Romania Mask Got the Zora Mask Went back to Gordon Villiage and got a heart piece from the bottom of the lake (has to be done after beating Goht) Got a Stone Mask And then I saved. ![]() I'm really behind on heart pieces and masks. I think I could probably get almost all of both before I start the third temple. So the next time I play I think I'll just concentrate on that. I didn't collect all 15 stray faries in the second temple, so I couldn't get my magic upgrade yet. On my N64, I would only collect the faries for the first temple. I'm not sure if I want to go back and get the faries for the second temple, but I may. I also need to go back to the Swamp and beat the spider house to get my mask of truth. As you can probably tell, I'm not really a fan of the third temple so I'll be doing almost everything else I can so that I am still playing the game, but avoiding that temple.

I actually have the first Super Mario Galaxy so I can only go based on that. It is pretty similar to the more modern Mario games, with more galactic and spacey kind of levels to go through. The general idea is still the same (go through different levels to get stars so you can unlock other levels and fight a boss (usually Bowser or Bowser Jr.)), so if you liked those games you should like this as well. |

I finally beat Majora's Mask. I think I figured out why there is a underlining sense of dread about this game for me. On the moon, the Goron dudgeon...I absolutely hate it. There's nothing too hard about it. You just roll as a Goron around the track. But I'm terrible at it. I literally played for over an hour before I beat it. Kept falling off and having to start over. I absolutely hate that one area of the game. ![]() After having beat Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask again, I will now go back to Twilight Princess. I've pretty much forgotten everything about the game thus far, so I might just start over. I think I'll make a "Let's Play: Twilight Princess" blog to keep progress of my gameplay....just so this remains a Nintendo thread and not a "Cybrus plays video games" thread.

So I've been reading how the Zelda: Wind Waker is an epic game. I have even seen some people say it's better than Ocarina of Time (Bullshit!). I think I could find the game at GameStop or online somewhere, but I have a question before I buy. I have a Classic Controller for my Wii. Would I be able to play a Game Cube game with the Classic Controller or would I have to buy a GameCube controller to play? I'm not sure if I'm interesting in buying a controller for literally one game. |

My one beef with Windwaker was the long rides with on the stupid boat from island to island. Sure, it seemed cool at first but after awhile you would dread those long rides. You'll be happy when you get that tornado song or whatever it is. But, although I can't say its better than Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask in my opinion. It is worth playing, and it is a very fun game. Worth buying a controller for in my opinion, and I would suggest trying games out like Paper Mario with your gamecube controller afterwards. Great game. |

At first, I wasn't interested in Wind Waker because of the cartoonish graphics. I loved the graphics in Ocarina of Time and even Majora's Mask. I also love the graphics in Twilight Princess. When comparing those types of graphics to the cel-shading graphics of Wind Waker, it just looks like a huge downgrade. But I've been watching a few "Lets Play" videos on Youtube (This is my favorite to follow) and the graphics really do look good once you get used to the cartoonish look. Now I feel bad for having written this game off for all this time and want to play it. I even talked to a guy at work who is a huge gamer (said he beat Twilight Princess in 3 days) and he said about the same as NCR in that he didn't like the long sailing, but loved the game after he got the warp or whatever. Actually, he said he quit playing like halfway through because he didn't care for it, but when he finally finished playing the part where he stopped playing is where it got damn good. Anyway, if you were to rank the following 4 console games from best to worst or favorite to least favorite (however you rank games), how would you order the games: Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess |

Wiis are on sale here for AU$138 with Mario Kart and the steering wheel. I don't have enough money to buy it outright tomorrow, but I was thinking of asking if they would let me lay-buy it at that price. Right now I'm also checking out all the Wii games that are available just to be sure there's enough worth buying it for instead of playing it for one or two games and letting it mostly collecting dust. Apart from the usual suspects, there are a couple of games that seem interesting. Oh yeah, I can't be bothered reading through the whole thread, if it's even in this one, but did somebody say that it's possible to have both the Wii and your PS3/360 hooked to your TV at the same time? If so, that'd be awesome as I find it a pain constantly unhooking and hooking up each console if I wanted to play something from them. Edited by Terrible Fry, Jun 27 2011, 08:26 AM.

I bought my Wii. Like 2 weeks later, Nintendo announced they were slashing prices on the Wii and adding the Mario Kart with Steering Wheel to the package (sales are obviously down). You have no idea how hard I ![]() I think this reduced price thing is going to go on for a while. They may bring the price back up for the Christmas season, but I dunno. Wii sales are reportedly down and they just announced the Wii U (although, I don't think they announced a release date). I would guess you have at least until late fall/early winter (or whatever the seasons would be to you) to get it at that price. As for hooking up multiple consoles to your TV, you can do it if you have enough plug ins on your TV. Do you? |
