![]() ![]() Both matches are officially listed on WWE.com. I wish they would have the normal qualifying matches for MITB. Most of the matches were obvious, but it seemed to be part of the MITB tradition. WWE no longer has the Punk/Cena match listed, which plays up to the Punk suspension storyline on WWE.com |

That's a very bold prediction, don't you think? We haven't heard anything from Undertaker since WrestleMania. Why would he suddenly appear unannounced and attack Barrett? |

To finish off the Taker-Nexus angle that happened back at Bragging Rights. I'm sure I'm like the only one who actually remembers that, but you just can't leave loose strings like that. It'd be a great rub for Barrett too. Even 'if' he loses. |

I think WWE did drop the Nexus/Taker storyline. Even before Nexus was split into 2 equally unimportant groups, WWE never acknowledged that storyline any. I don't think Taker is coming back anytime soon, and when he does it's going to be a big moment for WWE. I don't see him coming in and building anyone up. He's treated more of a big attraction commodity. Speaking of Nexus, what happens to the New-Nexus members when Punk leaves? Do they stay together? Go solo? Go back to Barrett? Or do they just disappear? |

Who are you calling a fool? But yeah, they'll probably disband and either get a solo push and/or disappear. I can see Mason Ryan getting one. I can't remember who the others are. Edited by Terrible Fry, Jul 1 2011, 02:21 PM.

Well, Mason Ryan is injured. I'd send Ryan and possibly David Otunga back to FCW. Ryan has potential (even if he is the biggest Batista look-alike I've ever seen), but he just flat out shouldn't be on the main roster right now. He's way, way too green. The dude is toast once Skip Sheffield is back anyway. I probably would have said the same thing about Otunga a year ago. If the Nexus angle was the plan right from the start of NXT season 1, they NEVER would have brought David Otunga up for it. He'd only been wrestling for a year by the time he showed up on NXT. I'm sure I'm completely alone on this, but I think they still might be able to pull something out of him if given time. FCW is perfect for that. Hennig Jr. is pretty awful. He'll get the cut, for sure. Well, SummerSlam is a big show. I wouldn't put it past them to let Taker get his revenge and then we don't see him again till Mania next year. As previously mentioned, I'm going with Daniel Bryan. Sheamus just doesn't need it, IMO. RAW... I'm erring towards Alberto Del Rio. They clearly want Del Rio to challenge John Cena at SummerSlam, but him just flat out cashing it in at SummerSlam (like RVD back in 2006 at One Night Stand) seems like a really strange and illogical thing to do for a heel. That isn't exactly going to get him mass amounts of heat. Edited by In Brightest Day, Jul 3 2011, 12:08 AM.

Don't care who wins; I hate everybody. But why would Del Rio win or even be in it? He won/will win this week the #1 contender's match; he's got a shot already. |

Del Rio and either Barrett or Sheamus are the obvious picks to win. This makes me question if they will win. WWE doesn't usually go with the obvious pick in these matches. I mean, who actually picked Kane and Jack Swagger to win past MITB matches? Watch it end up being Cody Rhodes and Alex Riley that wins. A lot of people, especially here, have already commented on the possibility of Punk winning the WWE Title and then losing it immediately to the Raw MITB winner. I've read on another site a theory for why the same thing could happen for the World Title. Christian turned heel because he won the World Title and then lost it (unfairly in his mind) just a few days later. The same storyline could continue with Christian winning the World Title and then abruptly losing it immediately afterward to the SD! MITB winner. Now, there's no way both of these would happen in the same night, but it's something to think about. |

So Alberto isn't the number 1 contender even though he won the match on RAW? I can see Punk beating Cena, Del Rio winning the MITB and cashing it in on Punk before he can leave the WWE with it and say even though he got screwed out of his title match at MITB, "It was his destiny" Therefor, Punk gets over on Cena for the title, gives Cena some much needed time off to recover and puts the title Del Rio. |

With the Cena stipulation... Cena wins, Del Rio wins MITB, cashes in and wins the title. But if WWE wants to get heat on Del Rio, he needs to pin Punk. |

Yeah, but there's still the thing of Cena being fired if Punk wins. But then again Vince did say Cena would be fired if Punk left the arena as Champion. |

I'm really not one of those "WWE holds people down" types, because most of the time the people WWE "aren't using right" just aren't very good. However, Cabana genuinely was a guy that wasn't given any opportunity to get over during his last brief stint on SmackDown. His apparent rehiring gives me the impression they're willing to let the guy be a regular part of the program now, which is pretty cool, IMO. For those of you who don't remember Colt Cabana, this was probably his most notable moment in WWE: After that Colt didn't really make any appearances. He had a squash against the Great Khali and was in a Battle Royal and then had his last match against Umaga, who of course beat him in about 20 seconds. He's a pretty talented guy. I hope this run works out for him. Edited by In Brightest Day, Jul 14 2011, 10:47 PM.

Show me something that would actually make me like Colt Cabana. Don't post him wrestling, because a lot of guys can wrestle and still don't get over. I keep hearing how he is so popular with the RoH crowd, but I've never understood why exactly. Most of the times he was getting any attention, he was teamed up with someone else that was better. |

I'm not a Cabana fan, but if I'm not mistaken, him being a comedy act as well as the in-ring wrestling got him over with the Ring of Honor crowds. Thing is when he came here, Santino was already WWE's comedy act. What else could WWE do with him? Now that Punk mentioned him, Cabana could be his lackey. |

Here is a Colt Cabana respect thread. Theirs tons of Cabana comedy stuff in there: http://www.paulnemer.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=26074 @ MakeYourself85 Well, there is two shows, so I don't really see Cabana and Santino Marella running into each other at all. Still, I'd rather see Colt be a Dusty Rhodes type character. Not that he should necessarily be telling people about "THE AMERICAN DWEAM~!" What I mean is that he should keep the goofiness and comical aspects of his character, but don't flat out have him be a guy that is trying to make people laugh constantly (like Santino). IMO, making Cabana into a flat out comedy guy would destroy any remote possibility of him being a legitimate mid-card guy, which he has the talent to do (unlike Santino). If anyone is curious if Cabana can actually be serious, theirs a pretty kick ass promo at the start of this video. Btw, their opponents in that video (Claudio Castagnoli and Chris Hero) are also rumored to have signed with WWE. They're just clearing up a pre-signing procedure with WWE of getting a full phsyical and having backgrounds checked. Sucks for ROH. :/ Edited by In Brightest Day, Jul 15 2011, 02:01 AM.
