Proper imitation is when Punk used Stone Cold's "What" catchphrase on Vince McMahon last Monday Night. These fans (not Chicago but everyone that does the RIOT signs) are just uncreative.

I hate how they keep replaying that "You have become the New York Yankees" line. I don't care about sports, so that line means nothing to me.
YAAAAANNNNNKKKKEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS MOTHAFUCKA!!!!!!!

I'd love to see how this plays out but I have to leave for work soon so I'm not going to be able to hear about it until tomorrow which sucks. Easily the most entertaining thing going on in the WWE in a long time.

Yeah, you could use that thing to call your boss and tell him you're going to be a little late for work. You don't have to call out. Just be an hour late.

Just a few minutes before CM Punk walked out to that thunderous ovation in Chicago, Paul Heyman finally broke his silence regarding Punk's now-legendary promo 20 days ago in which he gave Heyman credit for seeing something in him no one else could see, and declaring himself a "Paul Heyman Guy" (which seems to be the rage of Twitter now).

On The Heyman Hustle Twitter Page, Heyman finally broke his silence, saying:

"It's been 20 days since @CMPunk turned the wrestling world and WWE Universe completely upside down w/ his performance.

It's not what @CMPunk said, it's the realism with which his promo was delivered. HE felt it. So did millions of fans, too.

@CMPunk is not the voice of the voiceless, he's the voice of today's generation!

@CMPunk is cool and bad ass, yet he's a man of principle. He translates to grownups and kids alike.

I'M A @CMPunk GUY!"

It'll take too long for the page to load to see what happened. Maybe I'll check it during my break or something when I actually have time to sit around and wait for it.

Think of it like this: The Yankees are the team with all the championships, a real powerhouse, always a favorite to win, but hated by nearly every fan of other teams. Cena can no longer be considered the underdog (like the Red Socks reference Punk made) like the announcers always make him out to be. Cena is a multi-time champion, always the favor to win the match, now hated by the fans for winning so damn much, not matter how much Cena tries to sell himself as the underdog.

Yeah, I caught the the meaning behind the reference. I just think there are better ways to make that same point without making a sports reference...especially a baseball reference.

Did Cole just give Triple H credit for a Stone Cold quote? Stone Cold has said multiple times that if you aren't in this business to win the WWE Title you should just go home. I've got a VHS tape of Austin saying that same quote years before Triple H ever became a main eventer!

Has anyone ever tapped out to the abdominal stretch? It's like the headlock. No one has ever lost to the headlock, yet the ref sometimes does the "are you asleep" arm thing for the move.

There are 2430 baseball games each year. What other sport has that many events in the US? None of them? That's what I thought.

Also, your own personal distaste for baseball, and sports in general, is a bit of an outlier. In fact, I'd be willing to guess that most people who watch wrestling also follow baseball.

Also, it'd be cool to see this match. I'm sure Punk is going as hard as possible.

I can't speak for everyone else, but that is hardly the reason I dislike Cena. I dislike him because he's just so damn mediocre to shit at everything he does. The fact that he's always pushed to the moon and winning does add to that annoyance admittedly, but that is mostly because that leads to seeing more and more of the boring shit that he reproduces.

And yet football games always get highter ratings than baseball. And yet commercials for the Superbowl are outrageously high and no one even knows if the World Series has commercials. And yet the Superbowl is the single highest rated television event of the year every single year and the World Series isn't. Football is America's favorite sport and has been for years. Baseball fans just cannot seem to grasp this very simple concept. :therethere:

You are right, though. I don't care about sports in general and you can see me say that very thing in my original quote...before you took offense to me singling out the boring sport of baseball.

Does anyone expect a normal finish to this match? All these near falls are good, but I keep expecting Vince to come out and don't think the match is going to end before then. Or at the least, someone is running out.
