To Be Champion

In the final round of the WWE Championship Tournament, Rey Mysterio and The Miz meet on the next Raw to determine the undisputed holder of WWE's golden prize. Who will be crowned the new WWE Champion?

The Triple H era begins.
This.

Despite the fact that I kind of agree with cybrus on the WWE title issue, I'm really excited to see if they go anywhere with the HHH angle. The WWE Title doesn't interest me any longer, especially with Rey likely to win it. But Triple H in charge intrigues me. Especially if he pulls it off the way I know he can, and has fun with it, instead of half-assing it and relying on mostly-cheap crowd heat/pops like he did with the new D-X.

The Man. Any Questions?
He can not top the McMahon-Helmsley Era for entertainment value. He and Stephanie ran the show like true prickish heels.

I wonder who Triple H is going to choose for Eternal? Miz will be the heel champ, but who else?

Doesn't he need to play face first, passing on his sledgehammer to someone who sucks, which gives him super powers?

It'd be awesome as hell if they had the Rey vs Miz match early in the night and actually had a winner, but held off crowning the new WWE Champion until the end of the show. Final segment they do the whole ring apron change, title on a pedestal, calling Rey (or Miz) out to the ring, and just when he is about to be officially crowned the WWE Champion, someone interrupts the proceedings. It could be Triple H informing them that his company already has a WWE Champion or it could be Punk showing up :quote: uninvited :quote: and :quote: crashing :quote: the proceedings.

Didn't someone say something like this during the Raw 15th Anniversary, or something? Or before Wrestlemania during the Taker feud?

Yeah, he walked out at the end in his ring gear wearing the WWE title. Funny, if he was resigned and presumably by Triple H, why did they have a WWE title match to crown a new champ and then have Rey defend it vs Cena? I mean, the WWE champ is back on in the company right? It had only been 2 weeks since he won it.

They also used that song for announcing Stone Cold's HOF induction in a video package.

So we get Punk-Cena again?

Watched the pirates game instead. Read the following review/recap:

Seemed like an interesting show. Will have to watch next week to see what happens with CM Punk, who is apparently gone, or something...

Well, probably not. But maybe. I'm wondering how they'd handle the title history, given this situation.

Not that title history matters anymore.

That's the first thing I thought about when I heard the song playing. I was like "Is Stone Cold back?"

Punk walked out dressed in his ring gear. This is a time when he should have showed up in jeans, right? I'm not complaining, though. It was an awesome close to Raw. Begs the question: Who is the WWE Champion? I still say Punk, but I'm sure Rey and Cena will get credit for their newest reigns as intirm-WWE Champions. I wonder if they'll do the Unification match that we've been talking about or just acknowledge Punk is the true WWE Champion. He's only been gone for 2 weeks, was never stripped of the belt, and clearly didn't vacate the title. Seems kind of too soon to do a unification match.

J.R. returning is great. I was wanting J.R. to call the Punk/Cena MITB match but will take him back full time gladly. I would be happy if they just kept Cole on SD! and let Raw be just J.R. and King, but I wouldn't complain if it was a three man booth on both shows.

Triple H and R-Truth were hilarious. Triple H made fun of R-Truth's gimmick without burying it. I'm not sure why they "resigned" Morrison, though. When did he leave the company? I thought he was just out with injury.

Great Raw this week. WWE is on a good roll right now. I'm not sure if this is just to build up to SummerSlam or a sign that WWE is actually improving. I hope it's a long term thing and not just to get to SummerSlam.

So I'm watching a Raw replay online. Cole talks abou JR kissing Vince's ass, wished he also talked about his blowjob praise of Cena, Rock, etc.

WWE.com has posted a video of Punk addressing the crowd after Raw went off the air. I'm sure they'll make a bigger deal out of this next week on Raw, so I won't spoil anyone by saying what Punk said. But you can watch the video yourself HERE. Ok, so it was a 2 word speech, but still.

Let me ask this. Was Raw really awesome? I'm a huge Punk and Triple H fan. Punk, didn't show up until the end. Triple H had the one segment with R-Truth and the return of JR. Eliminate those segments and was Raw really that great? I see it as average at best with a great storyline (CM Punk) continuing at the end and everyone taking that away from the show as "Wow, what a great Raw!"

 that sounds like me coming on every other week saying I was watching the Yankee game instead, until I failed to acknowledge that wrestling existed anymore and stopped saying it altogether.

It wasn't a great Raw, but I think it's exciting right now because of everything that's going on. It's like a fire drill in school. You know it isn't going to last, and really all you're doing is walking outside into the cold without a coat, but it's different from the norm so it feels really fresh. So people can say it was a great show even though there were only a few good segments.

But also, there were two WWE title changes last night with two pretty solid matches for them. That helps A LOT. It was about the wrestling on the show for once.
