- As noted yesterday, a WWE Title match between Rey Mysterio and the winner of SummerSlam's CM Punk vs. John Cena match is being advertised for the RAW in San Diego, the night after SummerSlam.

WWE's website has a new storyline interview with Mysterio talking about the title shot from his hometown. Rey said he is demanding his rematch for the August 15th RAW.

He's also said to be injured at a house show this week, we can only hope!

The Man. Any Questions?
Good. We don't see enough of guys getting beatdowns in their hometowns. They win way too often.

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
Rey's jobbing, regardless of who's he facing.

I think the hometown hero usually loses when being the #1 challenger for a WWE/World Title match, but maybe I'm wrong. On PPV, there's a higher chance of it happening.

I can't think of any. Foley could never lose in MSG, Shawn killed Sid in San Antonio, Angle beats Austin in Pittsburgh, Punk beats Cena in Chicago...

Of course, there probably are a lot of others that I just don't remember/didn't know about.

I think outside of PPV it happens, like in tv shows and house shows - especially when they're heels.

Survivor Series 1997: Bret vs. Michaels. Bret isn't from Montreal, but it happens in his country.

Unforgiven 2006: Edge vs. Cena. Edge loses.

WrestleMania X8: Jericho vs Triple H. Jericho loses.

Only Canadians job in their own country for title matches on PPV. Maybe there's more.

Damn, Canadians do have shitty luck.

Someone should tally up these stats. It could be interesting. I would, but I'm too fucking lazy.
