ANOTHER contract signing segment?! I want to KILL somebody!

Jesus jumping Christ on a pogo stick, how long until everyone else gets as mad as I am over the repetitive bullshit?!

Contract signings were alright for Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant (actually, that was VERY fucking cool, you all should look it up on youtube; the pre-WMIII, not Royal Rumble one) but dammit, it's 24 years later! STOP IT!!

It's very rare, but sometimes contract signings have twists to them that make them interesting. (eg. Stone Cold vs HHH No Way Out 2001 signing).

Otherwise, I agree that they feel very token now. There's almost no point because the outcome is obvious, and they seem to happen randomly, because In know for sure that they don't do signings with every damn title opportunity. lol

I haven't been watching since the start of Summer, but from what I understand some cool stuff has gone down. I've heard that MITB was almost universally loved by the iwc, and that CM Punk has been given some kind of opportunity to finally make it big... I'm sure that I'm setting myself up for a big letdown here, but it'll be fun to watch for now.

Cena vs Swagger was decent, though the outcome couldn't have been more obvious. It dawns on me now, but why do they keep having Cena do his five moves of doom? I think that just enrages his detractors even more. I do find it mildly annoying myself. It puts too much routine in what's supposed to be a unique match.

Oh, and JR's back! Nice!

Lol at R Truth. Maybe he's not so great in the ring, but playing the crazy guy he seems kind of funny. I guess it's in his expressions.

Wasn't looking forward to Miz vs Rey, but that would have been better than Miz vs Kofi. Ah well, at least Miz won. I found his promo before the match hilarious, though I'm unsure if that was intentional. Cole's man crush on Miz is also still very amusing to me.

Pretty good Raw so far.

Of course, since SRP called it stupid, you just knew wwe was going to spite him with this contract signing somehow.

Wonderful performance by all of them. I'm loving this new approach (If it is indeed an approach they will continue). What is this new approach, you might ask? Well it's kind of obvious given all the real-life references, 4th wall breaking, and CM Punking (constantly calling himself a wrestler rather than an entertainer). They're going for the "Real" approach, and I really like it. You might call it a fan service to the online communities since arguably the casual fan would have no idea what's going on, but still, very entertaining all around to me at least.

Both guys made good points, and I'm just loving how defiant Punk is here; as soon as the fans got on his side by showing DWAYYYNEE on the titantron, he immediately talked about how he hated him too. lol

WWE had better not disappoint me at Summerslam. I will be watching.

Cableguy, if you're gonna check out the MITB match with Punk and Cena, check the Punk promos before watching the match.

Liked the ending of Raw. But other than Punk, Cena and maybe Miz, Raw would suffer hard if they went injured out of nowhere.

TNA does the "real approach" too, but this seems properly done.

I don't see the problem with contract signings. They are nothing more than another promo, only they get to sit down to talk during a contract signing.

Triple H opened the show by hyping how the WWE Title match at SummerSlam was going to be a match that changes the face of the industry. If he's just hyping this match, then that's fine. But if WWE seriously does have something planned for this match, then the only way it'd be big would be if Cena is turning heel. I don't think it is very likely that Cena would turn heel, but they have a few seeds in place. First, why would the guy that preaches about hustle, loyalty, and respect suddenly be not only OK with holding a lameduck title, but would actually be asking for the rightful Champion to be stripped of his belt? Cena's character should have been coming out saying how he needs to beat Punk to prove he is the Champion and all that. Secondly, why is Triple H in this match. Yeah, save the explanation Triple H gave on Raw, I watched Raw. But look at the actual plans for SS. What is Triple H's reason for being in the match? There's going to be some kind of screwy finish, sure. But does he help Punk or does he help Cena? I dunno. WWE has been saving the Cena heel turn for something big. I don't know if now is the time to pull that trigger, but him turning heel is the only thing that would change the landscape of WWE. I just don't expect it to happen.

SummerSlam is Sunday and only 4 matches have been announced. :-/

Did Dolph and Vickie split AGAIN? They've split a few times already and it always ends with the two getting back together. No one cares about Dolph Ziggler so he's not going to be a stand alone act.

A lot of people (myself included) are wanting someone to beat Daniel Bryan for the MITB briefcase. I would love it if someone beat Del Rio as well. This guy just isn't entertaining.

WWE was on a roll with Beth Phoenix. I like how she attacked Kelly Kelly last week and did another promo after beating Eve this week. But it was too soon for Kelly Kelly to get that cheap shot on Beth. But as long as Beth walks out of SummerSlam with the Diva Title then I'll be happy. She's dating Punk. Punk is getting the push of his WWE career. I think his gf is going to get the belt. And I wonder how they'll connect this to Nattie on SD!, who is basically doing the same thing that Beth is doing on Raw?

Why did they give away John Morrison vs R-Truth on Raw when they have been building up to this match for months and SummerSlam is this Sunday?

It felt wrong for Punk to introduce a clip of Rock dissing Cena. Punk has been as vocally against Rock as he has been against Cena. So for Punk to use clips of Rock and appear to be siding with him makes Punk look kind of...what's the word? Punk is still one of the hottest acts in the company, but they have really dropped the ball on his storyline since his return. It just doesn't feel as hot or as real.

Punishing Morrison for defending Melina while she got fired.

I did notice that Melina was the only name that Punk didn't mention during his firing spree speech.

Beth Phoenix took a shot at Melina. “No more booty popping, no more splits, no more stink faces..."

Not like Melina was entirely ignored.

Yeah, I noticed that subtle reference, but she wasn't mentioned by name. CM Punk mentioned every other firing by name except Melina.

Maybe he never got along with Melina in real life, but with the others, he did.

Yeah, or maybe they were afraid the crowd would react negatively to mention of Melina being fired. She was pretty popular. And I wonder if WWE expected that big of a crowd reaction when Punk mentioned Kozlov being fired? He never seemed that over.

I must disagree. In that situation, it was so unexpected that it seemed to work well, and as soon as the video got finished, he immediately pointed out his hatred for Dwayne and threw in some convincing insults.

Maybe the stuff they were saying at the signing wasn't quite as "Real" or surprising as what CM Punk said before his departure, but it still had that strong element to it, which I'm really liking. I say just enjoy this while it lasts, because it's pretty fun to watch. I can't fathom Cena turning heel right now... hell, he even referred to his "Heel persona", and I think that one mention kills it.

Kozlov was attached to Santino, who is more popular. But maybe the reaction was more of a "Oh no, he didn't" thing.

Don't misunderstand me, I am not saying I don't like the storyline. I do. I enjoy it greatly. But I am saying that it has cooled off considerably since Punk returned. It was white hot when Punk was leaving. Punk was saying things that had legit points behind them. But now, that particular "realism" affect has been lost and it comes across as just another wrestling storyline. I don't know if I'm explaining it right. It's still the most interesting thing happening right now, it's just not as hot as it was.

Honestly, I kind of have a feeling that Morrison will end up requesting his release and walking out just like King and Lashley did.

He may as well. At this point, it's just money that WWE can offer him. He's pretty much peaked. He's a career enhancement talent guy. He has the flashy moves and the bumps, but that's about it.

I can definitely see Morrison getting himself over in TNA if he does indeed leave the company.

I can't. Mickie James faded into a no one in TNA. So did Tara. And so did a lot of other names that jumped to TNA. If TNA cannot utilize a star name, then I don't think they'd know how to build a name like Morrison -- a guy that has popularity but isn't truly a name brand yet.
