Okay, problem. I'm sure at least a couple of you use their PS3s for blu-ray movies, I know Purps does. Do any of you know what I'm doing wrong? I've tried messing around with some of the settings, but I can't get a clear, smooth picture. Examples below... Spoiler: click to toggle I decided to just put on the regular DVD on at the moment until I know how to fix it. |

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sue me. Plus I already have nearly all of my favourites on DVD anyway. There's probably some great movies I've missed, but it'd because I haven't seen them, haven't got around to getting them yet or can't get them here. |

I know, right? For the sake of Blu-Ray, Sucker Punch is visually great. But the movie isn't good as a whole. |

I'm going to assume you also have a HDTV. If that is the case, you should have the connection between your PS3 and the TV with a HDMI cable. If not, that is your problem. The HDMI cable makes a world of difference. It will clear up the picture. Edited by Purple Marauder, Aug 11 2011, 02:35 AM.

Oh, I see. I actually have my PS3 hooked up via my DVD player.
Yeah, it is. It's the best Zack Snyder film I've seen yet, that's for sure. I haven't seen that owl movie though, but yeah. |

Haven't seen that owl movie, but I think Watchmen is the best he's done, but that is also due to Watchmen being a comic of very high quality. I'm kinda afraid of him being involved in Man of Steel since he's more of a "style over substance" type of director. But the cast is good and Christopher Nolan is involved in it, so there is hope for me in that Steel will be good. |

Dawn of the Dead is the only Snyder movie I halfassed liked. And even that was way too MTV/retard for my taste. |

I would rate The Watchmen a somewhat close second. To me, it kind of has that disadvantage of being a bit overhyped and although good, it just didn't really live up to it. I didn't get that feeling with Sucker Punch. It actually exceeded expectations, admittingly lowered due to previous films. However it was just a lot more fun and I could probably watch it over a number of times. A couple of scenes even sent chills down my spine every I watched them and I sometimes skip back to watch them again. As for Man of Steel, I don't give two fucks about Superman in the first place, so I don't really care too much about how it turns out. Might still check it out if it seems interesting enough though. |

Oh, I see. Sorry if I thought you were just like DL and Purps, who fap to just about every superhero/comic book character out there.

Although I still like some comic book characters, I haven't bought a comic book since I was about 15. |

Why has no one mentioned 300? I have liked all of Zack Snyders films so far, yes Sucker Punch was weak narratively but I didn't pay to see a film with a good story, I paid to see a group of attractive women run around in sexy outfits shooting and blowing shit up. In that respect the film delivered. I generally just rent Blu-Ray films though, the price is just too high for me to justify spending the extra money over a lower priced DVD. |

Because it was stupid, overrated, WAY overhyped, attention-defecit shit. But in all fairness, old bastards like me aren't the target audience, so it doesn't matter. The money comes from the "holy shit I'm 21 so I can buy BEER!" crowd, which is what current movies cater to. And yes, it's dumb as fuck for Blu-Rays to be so much higher in price, when you're getting THE SAME MOVIE! Unfortunately, they'll simply stop selling DVDs pretty soon, to force us to buy the more expensive format (just like they did with VHS/DVD 10 years ago). Edited by SRP76, Aug 11 2011, 07:12 PM.

Go kill SRP. He insulted you as a movie-goer and he's not a fan of a lot of comics, inlcuding calling Marvel stuff as shit. |
