The Man. Any Questions?
|
I've reached a videogame depression, guys. I'm bored. I've beaten everything I can think of. I have access only to PS1 and prior (emulators). I can't think of a game to play! I recently ran through Final Fantasy Tactics, the Chrono games, the first 3 Resident Evils...I even battered my way through the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game. I've beaten Final Fantasy VII-IX so many times, I can't imagine going through them again anytime soon. Beat the two Lunar games, even broke out the Sega CD emulator to play through Sonic CD. Super Mario World, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past...all beaten in the past few weeks. Can anyone help me? Point out any fun games I might be overlooking. |

The Man. Any Questions?

Ahhh, Fear Effect. I've actually never played that game, ever. Yet,I always meant to, since it came out way back when. I'll give that a try (hopefully I have the pc power to run it; that's a problem with some games). Parasite Eve, I didn't really like. Feel free to post more suggestions, though, as I'm always looking for new games.

Forgot those. Oddworld is in the same category as Fear Effect. I'll grab those, too. Well, started playing Fear Effect. Good news: it works, I can play it. Bad news: I died immediately, at the very first chance. |

I feel for you if you have to resort to emulators... Anyway, you seem to have one for Super Nintendo, which probably has one of the best game libraries of all time. Some suggestions: Super Mario Kart Batman Returns Donkey Kong Country Donkey Kong Country 2 Castlevania 4 Zombies Ate My Neighbors Honestly, you might want to give some freeware games a shot that were actually meant for the computer, there are some very good ones out there. Back when I played emulators, the controls were bad enough that the game was almost ruined for me. |

Well, I'd rather have a mint-condition PS1 and game discs to use, but you're not going to find them outside a museum. Which brings me to this: I tried to download my Lunar games, just in case. Nope. "ESA Protected". Oh, and by the way, will NEVER be printed again, and will NEVER - under any circumstances - be allowed to be purchased through Playstation store as PSOne Classics. Just what in fuck is with that? If you're going to make things unavailable for download, how about making it fucking possible to still buy the shit?! Isn't that a novel concept? No, guess not. They don't want us to have access to anything that isn't the current crop of franchise-milking and/or Capcom "one save allowed permanently" SHIT games.

True, I could get the original Sega CD versions, but A. They're different, in many ways, including plot and B. they aren't the version I wanted at the moment. They were just an example, anyway. The main point is that games are vanishing, without still having the option to buy them in any form. Replacing them? A bunch of crap being passed off as "current gen games". Incidentally, I notice PSstore offers Final Fantasy VII, and IX. No VIII. Jesus Christ, can they not even COUNT over there?!

Did you beat through this game 100%? I'm still at the 4th castle, but I've opened every level up to this point, except Star Road. I'm not stuck, per se, I just haven't been playing. |

Yup. Every exit (which is what's "counted"). If you can beat the Star Roads, you'll march right through everything else. Even they aren't as hard as I remember them being all those years ago. |

Tubular was hard as hell, to me. I remember being stuck on the game for several days and died at least 100 times before beating it. ![]()
So when you start the game, what is the number on your file? Isn't there like 97 exits to open to complete the game 100%? |

100% is all 96 exits. Only 24 are "alternate"or "secret" though. 98 total, if you count Yoshi's House and Top Secret Area. I don't know why they didn't just do 100. Unless you count the two warp pipes in and out of Valley of Bowser, or something. |
