If I had to make a list of a Top 5 2011 films...

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
I'd list these for now:

1. Rise of the Planet of the Apes: Amazing film and it's the film of the year for me right now. Fuck Tim Burton's Apes film, this one brings back life to the POTA franchise and Andy Serkis deserves a fucking award - he knows his stuff in regards to playing CGI characters. James Franco and John Lithgow were pretty good to watch as well, acting-wise. Tom Felton (a.k.a. Draco Malfoy) was typecast here and I wished Freida Pinto was replaced by a better actress.

2. Midnight in Paris: Really great comedy/romance/fantasy film. Totally surprised to see Owen Wilson doing a role that is entirely different from what he would usually do, but he carried himself very well as the lead. And this film makes people fall in love with Paris and also yearn for the past.

3. Thor: Pleasant surprise. Thought the trailers for Thor sucked ass, but the scripting was solid and Chris Hemsworth handled pretty well the lead role. Thor has comedy moments, but they made sense at least unlike the comedy bits you see in the Transformers films.

4. X-Men: First Class: Better than the last two X-Men films combined. If there's one person that deserves credit for all the praise this film gets, it's definitely Michael Fassbender.

5. Horrible Bosses: Better than expected. I laughed with this film. Everyone did their parts well, even Jennifer Aniston. Wished Jason Sudeikis was replaced by someone else like Vince Vaughn or Bradley Cooper, but for what the film is, I liked it.

Let's say I have yet to see films like Source Code, Bridesmaids, The Tree of Life, Hanna, Captain America, Super 8, Win-Win, Rango and others.

If anyone wonders why I wouldn't include Deathly Hallows Part II, I'll explain it. Thought it was good, it had some great moments, good action and comedy. But it's a weak film when compared to the previous one (DHP1).

I know this will be modified later and if I were to come up later with a Top 10, Apes and Paris would easily be part of it.

STAY HYPED!!!
I haven't seen a single movie on this list.

Edit: But that's not a diss to your selection. As you know, I don't go to the movie theaters so I haven't seen most movies released, period. :(

I know you don't go to the theaters/cinema because of crowds. Other than Deathly Hallows Part 1, what kind of film would make you break your rule?

STAY HYPED!!!
It's not the crowds. Well, I don't like the crowds, true. But it's more of a combination of things. I don't like the crowds. I don't like the overpriced tickets. I don't like the overpriced beverages. I don't like how other people talk/react during the movies. I don't like the idea of paying to watch something just one time (whereas if I buy a DVD, I pay once and watch it as many times as I want). I don't like anything about it, really.

What would make me change my mind? A girl I like wanting to go see a movie. Simple enough answer.

If I lived in the States where tickets are more expensive, I would be a lot more careful about watching films in the theater. If I lived there, I would have definitely not paid money to see Dark Of The Moon or Hangover Part II.

Deathly Hallows Part II would be the exception to the rule since I've invested time, emotions and love on the Harry Potter book series and factoring my love for DHP1 and the trailer being uber-exciting.

I live in one of the most expensive districts of my nation and the theater near my house is the second most expensive. The prices I'll list will sound cheap for you, but not for the average peruvian.

Cineplanet prices in La Molina (adult ticket):

Monday and Wednesday: 13.5 soles (US $4.96) | 3D: 17 soles (US $6.24)
Tuesday: 9.5 soles (US $3.49) | 3D: 15 soles (US $5.51)
Thursday to Sunday: 17.5 soles (US $6.43) | 3D: 25 soles (US $9.18)

I know, cheap for your country.

For the Top 5 films I listed:
Paid 17.5 for Apes.
Downloaded Paris (willing to pay 17.5 for it when it opens in September here and going with a friend to see it)
Paid 15 for Thor in 3D only because I didn't wanted to see it dubbed - 3D was worthless, but Thor was fun anyways.
Paid 9.5 for First Class, but I watched it on the 3rd or 4th week after its release. Got lazy into watching it, but I ended up enjoying it despite some of its flaws.
Paid 17.5 for Horrible Bosses, earlier I almost regretted it, but once Colin Farrell (playing one of the films' evil bosses) popped up, film started to get better and funnier.

Only two films I paid for 3D on the higher price was Avatar and Deathly Hallows Part 2 (regretted it).

I've seen a whole bunch of films in 2011, but I'm trying to think which ones actually came out in 2011.

The main ones that come to mind are Source Code, Sucker Punch, Dark of the Moon, Thor, Paul and I think Green Hornet. I found them all at least enjoyable, but Source Code would have to be my top choice so far followed by Sucker Punch. I do want to see Hanna, Super 8 and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Transformers... it's going to depend on how you'll be capable of tolerating the first hour. The final battle is really great, but the stuff before it is annoying. Watch it with very low expectations.

Add another movie of 2011 that I've watched so far. I watched Insidious last night and I thought it had to be one of the weaker movies of the year so far. It ranged from boring to annoying for the most part. Somes of the scenes towards the end in "The Further" were decent, but not enough to make the movie in any way exceptional. 4/10
