Onward with the next chapter of "who hired Kevin Nash?". I am not really into this storyline, but I haven't given up on it either. Nash claims Triple H sent him a text, but Triple H says he didn't. They are also setting up Stephanie and John Lucantspellhisname as candidates. Don't expect the reveal for several months. Hopefully, it is more interesting than the start last week. |

I still don't get why John Cena is the guy challenging ADR. He lost both of his matches vs Punk. |

Save yourself a headache/aggravation and don't try to apply logic to anything John Cena related. I mean, this is the same guy that chased Del Rio out of the ring after successfully defending the WWE Title and implied that Del Rio was a coward by claiming that Del Rio would have to defend the WWE Title "one day". ![]() |

Well, technically Cena does have a claim to a rematch due to the screwy finish at Summerslam. Raw was pretty good tonight. Much to my shock, they actually seem to finally give some attention to the undercard. Kofi and Bourne, admittedly, are just the generic baby face tag team but it seems like they're setting them up to face Truth/Miz (who had the segment of the night). Swagger/Ziggler feud is going to be boring, but between the two, Swagger would benefit more from having a manager like Vickie. Cena vs Del Rio and Punk vs Triple H/Management. Saw this coming last week when Cena was the one who confronted Del Rio. Del Rio is starting to grow on me, but really he hasn't done anything yet that JBL didn't do better. I'm a little interested in where this Diva angle is going as well, surprise surprise. Although it did end the same exact way it did last week, I'm guessing there will be a fatal four way at Night of Champions (Beth vs Natalya vs Eve vs Kelly Kelly). |

Like most WWE viewers, I am still not a fan of Alberto Del Rio. However, I must admit that WWE is doing a great job of building him up as a credible heel Champion. We often see heels talk a big game on the mic then act like chickenshit in the ring and win with fluke like victories, using the belt to help them or whatever. Alberto talks big on the mic and performs big in the ring. He's getting credible wins over his opponents without resorting to cheap heel-like moves to get those wins. He uses his armbar to get the submission victory in the middle of the ring. He's beat Rey on Raw, Daniel Bryan on SD, and now Morrison on Raw. Add in the beat down he gave Cena on Raw, and they are building Del Rio to be a credible threat as WWE Champion. Now, he just needs to get over. ![]() Miz and Truth were the highlight of Raw to me. I know some people think the "What" chants are dated and should be stopped, but those are never going away. They are too much fun for audiences to do. As a viewer, the fun comes in seeing how people react to the "What" chants when they break out. Kevin Nash lets it get to him and he messes up his promos afterward. R-Truth and Miz took the "what" and ran with it. With Cena vs Del Rio and Punk vs WWE as the headlining acts right now, I have no problems with Miz going back to the Tag Division. Jericho did it countless times between title reigns. The Tag Titles mean nothing right now, but I can see Miz and Truth making the titles relevant since both are so over and entertaining right now. Earlier, I said Del Rio is getting pushed as a credible threat without the underhanded chickenshit heel stuff. This is not the case with Nash. 2 weeks in a row, Punk has tried to fight Nash and both weeks he's gotten cut off. Last week, he was cut off by security. This week, Triple H stopped Punk and Nash ultimately blindsided Punk with a cheapshot. I don't think Nash is really over with the WWE audience anymore. He doesn't get a big reaction from the crowd. But we've seen another swerve in the "who hired Nash" storyline. John L. tells Triple H that Nash was in a car wreck and at the hospital. Hunter apparently leaves immediately. Nash comes in at the end of the show to distract Punk and cost him the win. Was this all planned out by Triple H? Is it John L? Is it Steph? Does anyone care? |

Wow why so much hate on Alberto? The Man won the 2011 Royal Rumble, he won the Money In The Bank Ladder Match by ripping Mysterio's Mask off and he cashed it in at Summerslam.. In my eyes Alberto Del Rio is the Top Heel of Raw but everyone has their own opinion. The Miz/Truth Promo was the highlight of the night looking forward to a title fued in the future with the tag titles |

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!

Because he is Mexican. J/k.I don't hate Alberto. He's got pretty good traits to stand out as a heel. But his biggest problem might be that not all American audiences may open up to him. Edited by MY85, Aug 23 2011, 08:00 PM.

That's rubbish. Pure rubbish. Rey Mysterio is Mexican and the U.S. audience embraces him with open arms. Eddie was Mexican and the U.S. audience embraced him with open arms. Sheamus is Irish and he's over with the U.S. audience. Sin Cara is really over and he's Mexican. I could go on and on, but the point has been made. It has nothing to do with his ethnicity. Americans have embraced loads of non-U.S. wrestlers. Xenophobia isn't as pronounced as many think, which is why such storyline/stables usually don't get over very well. The problem with Alberto Del Rio is multi-layered. For starters, lots of fans see him as nothing more than a rip off of JBL since he basically has JBL's gimmick without the Cowboy hat...and he has Orton's old entrance pyro. Secondly, Del Rio basically comes out and says the exact same thing every week. All his promos are the same "My name is Alberto Del Rio, but you already knew that. It is my destinity...". Lather, Rinse, Repeat. Also add in that Del Rio is getting pushed harder than he should be based on how over he is at the moment. WWE struck gold when they pushed Lesnar to the moon upon his debut, but almost every other hard rookie push has failed. It takes time for someone to truly get over with an audience, and a year usually isn't enough time. So it turns out looking like WWE is forcing the guy down our throats, which is a turn off. And that is why Alberto Del Rio isn't over. |
