The Man. Any Questions?
|
Booker keeps yapping on about his "Fave Five" guys in WWE (which is actually about 12 guys). I think I'll put out some of my own, and see who agrees. Here's the five people I most enjoy seeing: 1. The Miz and 2. R-Truth - sure, I cheated with splitting them. So what. The "You Suck" rap is funny as hell, and their whole gimmick is hilarious. "I apologize to you, and even the Little Jimmys". Hahahaha. These guys are the best thing in wrestling right now. 3. Mizark Henry (oldschool fans will get the reference). Not so much his no-talent ass, but how he's being booked. From the blot-out camera shots for his entrance to the fact he doesn't use the mic (rather, we "overhear" him talking shit aloud to fans and foes on camera), they're doing him right. 4. The Long Island Iced Z! Yep, the Internet Champion is over with me! Ryder is red hot, of his OWN effort, not WWE's. Respect to this dude. A good IC title feud and win would make me happy. Emphasis on feud, not just a one-off win. P.S. - If Foley ever returns to WWE and backs Ryder, look the fuck out, son! 5. Michael Cole. I've been watching wrestling a long time, junior. I say he's the best heel announceer since Jesse The Body Ventura, and those are HUGE shoes, let me tell ya. Cole's up to the task. That speaks volumes. How 'bout y'all? You lost me at #5. Cole has talent no doubt about it, but IMO he really directs all the attention towards him, and away from the great WWE programming (W)we get to watch. Shut up Cole. Oh, and Jerry Lawler can be reeeally lame sometimes. That is all. |

I agree with your numbers one and two. I would actually put Truth at #1, as much as I don't like pushing Miz down. Truth has been easily the funniest guy in wwe since his heel turn. Miz makes for a very good partner in crime, but his best moments were still back when he had the belt. 3. CM Punk. He would have been # 1 on my list about a month ago, but wwe completely blew it with his storyline. All it did was turn him face and give him a few new fans, when it could have been a very big storyline that pushed Punk to new heights. Still, I can honestly say that he's one of the reasons I watch the show. ... actually, that's about it. A lot of what's been going on in wwe has been pretty boring to me lately so I can't even come up with 5. I don't care enough about the following main eventers right now: Cena, Del Rio, Orton, Henry, Christian... I just don't care about those guys, and I really should considering that both shows revolve around them. Edited by Cableguy15, Sep 29 2011, 06:16 AM.

If I'm to be totally honest (which I usually am)< I'd take the Cable guy line. I really don't care much fo the overall show. But I needed 5 for the thread to work. Still, how can you guys not get behind Ryder? He gets almost zero mic time, yet gets his point across. How in hell does that happen? Talent, I tell ya... @ Fate: Cole does hog some attention, but he does point toward the right heels, in my opinion. His only flaw in my eyes is that he still marks for certain faces. If he were true heel, he wouldn't do that. |

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!

Top 5 in no order: Miz, Truth, Henry, Rhodes and Punk. This would be a Top 5 at the moment. Cole still annoys/bores me and Ryder's YouTube videos are hit or miss for me. |

Cody Rhodes? CODY RHODES?! You and Cybrus. What in hell. I think he just plain sucks. He looks stupid, his promos are garbage, he just SUCKS! I guess different strokes, and all that. You guys see something in him, but I sure don't.Although that reminds me: what's up with Rhodes bleeding all over last week? Isn't that banned in WWE now? What happened? |

Real cut, got hit with the bell on the head. And I don't think Rhodes is entirely terrible by any means. He's alright in his mid-carder position. But you like Cole and he's a fucking turnoff to me. Granted he may not be as borderline annoying as he was when he began his heel turn, but he still has flaws and vocally nuthugs some faces (mostly, Cena). His announcing bores me to death for the most part and he shouldn't drive anyone to change the channel even if he plays a heel. |

Didn't you do this exact same topic once before, SRP? I am sure I remember something like this before. ![]() This is based off the current product, of course. My list would naturally change as the product changes over the coming months: 1-2) Awesome Truth. I have been a big fan of Miz for a while now. I used to hate him, but now he's one of my favorite acts every week. He hasn't done much of note since his WWE Title run, but he's still a reliable source of entertainment. Similarly, R-Truth is a guy that I used to hate, but have found him very entertaining since he turned heel. He mixed it up for a while and was the serious heel one week and the comical heel the next week. I think he pulls off both well. This is the most I have ever enjoyed R-Truth and is the best work he's done his entire career. These guys play well off each other. I'm sure they are part of a bigger storyline (I'm thinking Survivor Series team with Nash and 2 other guys against Rock, Cena, and maybe Triple H), but I hope they win the Tag Titles before breaking up. 3. Randy Orton. Orton is getting a lot of hate online for his "Super Cena" like push over the past few years. He's had the WWE or World Title almost constantly for the past few years. But he is also the best all around performer in wrestling today. He has good to great matches consistently. I cannot remember the last time Orton had a bad match. He has a very identifiable promo style that fits perfectly with his gimmick. And he is arguably the single most over wrestler in the entire company. 4. CM Punk. Punk has lost a lot of momentum in my eyes. He's gone from saying things that most internet wrestling fans have been saying for years to being a guy that comes across like he's trying to say something when he really says nothing. But that's more creative than him. He is still very talented in the ring, gold on the mic, and one of the mos over guys in the company. 5. Cody Rhodes. Cody is a great mid card wrestler and a deserving mid card Champion. He's good on the mic, good in the ring, and just entertaining to watch. He does get repetitive at times with his paper bag gimmick, but that's more creative than him. I had debated about putting Triple H on the list. He's not a wrestler, but he's a weekly presence on Raw and SD! Overall, I have enjoyed Triple H in the COO role. I didn't like how he buried 3 mid carders on Raw this week, but he's been great over all. Much better than the anonymous GM, celebrity guest hosts, or anything else we've seen in the past couple years. I also want to mention Kharma. She was really making the Diva division seem important again before going out with child. If/when she returns, I expect she'll bump her way up my list really quick.
I believe that was an accidental/real cut that happened when Orton hit Cody with the time bell. It's a no-no on WWE TV which is why they edited it out so much. Did you see the pix posted in the SD! thread that week? This happened during a Randy Orton match at the hands of Randy Orton, so nothing will happen. But if anyone else did it, I bet we'd be reading all kind of stuff in the news.
I give him credit for getting himself over when WWE couldn't. That is definitely talent. But his gimmick...i absolutely hate his gimmick. Zack Ryder is the same as TNA's Robbie E, to me. They are both the same basic gimmick and both are just annoying and make me want to turn the TV. |

Forgive me for not seeing a buried 2-month old thread. Pretty sure nobody died.
