Any early picks for this year's winner? Someone at ProWrestling.net has Dolph Ziggler picked as their early favorite to win.

Yeah, Dolph would be my pick if they're going with someone new again. But since ADR was a bust they might not want to risk it again this year. They might go with Orton has a safe bet and make the WM28 WHC a triple threat.

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
Seems like the Rumble winner will be from the Smackdown brand because Cena will arrive to WM as the WWE Champion.

Like I said before, Randy Orton has spent the year pushing Christan, Mark Henry, Cody Rhodes and Wade Barrett. Its time he gets rewarded with a Rumble win or EC win.

I have my doubts that Randy will win. I do think he'll be in the WHC match at Wrestlemania though.

My personal favorite to win is Barrett. He's been on a slow burn getting back into the main event scene. If Daniel really does go all the way to WM as champ, then I can see a Bryan vs Barrett vs Orton match (Bryan as the underdog champ, Barrett has history with both men, and Orton as the "surefire" pick.)

I think we can expect the following matches to be added to the card:

Cody Rhodes vs Booker T (IC Title Match)
John Cena vs Kane
Daniel Bryan vs Big Show vs Mark Henry (World Title Match)
The Miz vs R-Truth

I'm not sure who Punk will defend the WWE Title against just yet. I do know that WWE likes to experiment with the WWE and/or World Title scene during this time of year since the Rumble match sells the PPV. I think it was just last year that we saw John Morrison getting a WWE Title match on the first Raw of the year. This year, Ziggler gets the first title match. We are also seeing Daniel Bryan as World Champion. That shit ain't gonna last long. Neither is Ryder as US Champ. I cannot wait until WWE gets out of experiment mode and gets into WM mode.

Thanks to Cena-Rock at WM, WWE can get away with keeping Ryder as US Champion heading into WM since only Cena-Rock will get the buys.

Should be an interesting WWE title match, though I expect Punk to overcome the odds.

What? Since when is the US Champion ever expected to draw?

All hating, bullshitting, and kidding aside, the Royal Rumble is the only PPV worth getting. Just for the rumble! As long as they don't change the rules, it's can't-miss. Always exciting, can't fuck it up.

You can all thank Pat Patterson now.

I agree that the Rumble is worth getting every year just for the fact that it's the Rumble. I disagree that it's the only PPV worth getting on name value. I also think WM is worth getting each year just on name value alone.

But the match wasn't torturous. The major complaint against Miz vs Cena was that it was literally a set up for Cena vs Rock at this year's WM. That's why they had the lame ending. The match itself wasn't bad. It wasn't a classic or anything that anyone is ever going to mention when making top lists, but it wasn't as bad as some of the other main event matches in WM history.

Officially announced. They should have a Kane shirt that says "Embrace the Hate". It'll never happen in this PG WWE, but it'd be cool.

John Cena is not going into WM as the WWE Champion. Cena vs Rock does not need the title. The title would actually be irrelevant in the match. So they'll use the WWE Title to create another main event match (Punk vs Jericho).

Cena entering mania as champion would make it a dead giveaway that he'd be walking out as the winner anyway.

I agree. But didn't Cena said on Raw last year that he promised to face The Rock with the WWE Title on the line?

I know it shouldn't be a title match. But it's WWE, they might slap the belt on Cena. :busy:

They can build one more strong feud with the WWE title on Punk or someone else going into WrestleMania if it's not tied up in the Cena/Rock mess. Though they can put an absolutely crappy undercard on and get away with it sense Cena/Rock is the main draw.

Based on how Raw ended, I wouldn't be surprised to see CM Punk in the classic "Beatdown the hell Authority Figure" match.

What's up with WWE hyping that EVERY superstar is eligible this year? Isn't that true every year? Maybe we'll see someone from a schedule match win? Surely there is a reason for hyping this so hard, given that it's usually just thought of as common knowledge.

Jericho says the world as we know it will end on Sunday. What does everyone think this means?

Oh, and who are some of the surprise returns that we can look forward to this year? I'm thinking Goldust will cost Cody the match or something. Not sure who else will be brought back for the one night appearances.

I GOT IT!

Punk claims to be the best in the "World", Jericho claims that it's the end of the "World" as we know it.

Jericho is going to kill CM Punk.

Man, fuck Jericho. The guy's 50 years old, and I don't care about him or his stupid "YAY" routine.

Anyway, to what I wanted to ask. Didn't the rumble have 40 guys last year? Cole said 30 this week. Why cut back?

Because the marketing for last year's Rumble match was that it was "the biggest in history". The marketing for this year's Rumble is "for the first time, EVERY WWE superstar is eligible to enter". I'm not sure when they weren't in the past, but that's what they are going with this year.

Plus, I'm glad they didn't keep it at 40. 30 is the number that works for the match. Leave it alone.
