Does anyone know if this WWE Network is going to be added to the normal satellite stations or if it's going to be one of those extra stations we have to pay more for? I'd be surprised if this actually happened. I don't think WWE is going to be bold enough to take over half of their PPVs off the PPV market at first. I'd think they'd try it on maybe 3 of the lower bought PPVs as a test the first year. |

I'm really hoping it'll be a normal station, but I highly doubt it, this just screams one of those pay for channels. Plus they'll have to get deals with different cable providers. |

I've never understood the apparent need for more than twelve pay-per-views anyway. If anything, twelve is already too many. ![]() I've always favored more of a bi-monthly kind of format but maybe that's just me. |

Well the problem was that when they were cashing in on their brand split, the PPV buyrates were still the best they ever had been so they thought it was a good idea to have only three week build between events...which is fucking stupid and kills the weekly shows, even though the shows were actually very good in 2002-2004 compared to where they are today. |

I've always liked the name Vengeance for a PPV name. I wish they'd drop any of the generic names like Hell in a Cell, TLC, or any other PPV named after a match concept (with the exception being the Royal Rumble which should and will always stay on the calendar). They can still have HIAC or TLC matches. They just don't need to name the PPVs that. |

I don't get why they changed the name of No Way Out to Elimination Chamber. No Way Out fit perfectly, had history/some name value, and wasn't generic. It's like, I'm almost tempted to think they probably really want to rename Raw to "Red Show" and Smackdown to "Blue Show"... or "Yes, we still have a second show, did you forget about it, too? LOL We keep forgetting it exists, too!" |

You want 2 PPV's a month? That seems like overkill.

That would be semi-monthly. Bi-monthly is every two months. |

Actually, it means both. That's why I added the shifty smile. I was just yanking Kraul's chain. Thanks for fucking it up!!!! Now I'll have to yank his penis. |

Doesn't WWE do 2 PPVs a month sometimes? I think they do WM and whatever follows in the same month, and then later in the year when they have Vengeance, HIAC, and whatever other PPV it is all like 2 weeks apart. |

If I were Cheerleader Melissa I'd never leave my bunk. I have always said there were too many PPVs at this point. 6 per year would be better, but 4 might even be better than that. Would let you develop some great storylines and give you time to really build to a big pay off. Plus, PPV buys have to be down across the board for and of the random ones. People just don't have the money to spend of something like No Way Out or whatever. |

While I agree that less PPVS would be better, it would actually cost WWE a lot of money to cut PPVs out of their calendar. Yeah, the PPV numbers may be down. But they still make a large profit off every PPV. If they are making 200,000 buys on the lower PPVs (which is about right if you look at the numbers WWE releases), and if they cut out 6 of those PPVs, that's 1.2 million PPV buys that they'd give up in a fiscal year. That would be a lot of lost money. And while it is true that the remaining PPVs would see an increase in buys, they still probably wouldn't make as many buys as they would if they keep those PPVs on. |

If they really do end up airing their PPVs on the station, it'll definitely end up being a channel you'd have to subscribe for like HBO. |

It doesn't matter how many they have, because I won't be buying any. That's the deal with everyone. You're only going to buy as many as you allow yourself/are interested in anyway. Say you only buy WrestleMania each year. If they up the ppvs to 50, you're still only going to buy WrestleMania. If they cut them to 4, you're still only going to buy WrestleMania. And everyone here just pirates the shit anyway, so it really doesn't matter in present company. |
