BURN IT DOOOWWNNNNNNNN!
|
While not the best preview of tonight's Raw, expect Punk to be sour about Ace keeping his job and Jericho attacking him, Cena still not embracing the hate, Sheamus chest beating, Ziggler selling like crazy, and Ryder in a body cast. |

Triple H starts Raw saying he was going to fire John L last week. So why not fire him this week? Oh, John L went to the board. So there is always a loophole to confuse that entire storyline, huh? I mean, Triple H fired Vince. Vince returned to relieve Triple H of his Raw duties and appoint John L. Triple H returns to relieve John L of his duties. What? Triple H kissing Undertaker's ass. You know, if he said positive things like that about new guys, WWE probably wouldn't be lacking in the true main event area. And now Undertaker is "sad". Not the best video I've ever seen on Undertaker, but it was cool if you liked seeing him sit up and hit is big moves. And then we get a video of Taker being trucked out of WM last year. When do the gongs hit? Or is Undertaker taking this week off? Triple H rejects Undertaker's challenge. Triple H goes to leave and his music cuts off unexpectedly. Lights go out. Undertaker watching his own video saying "It's not over". Ok, that was a cool Undertaker video! I'm going to end up watching it again on Youtube, I already know it! It explained perfectly in 20 seconds why Undertaker is after Triple H. Big Show vs Daniel Bryan again. I'm getting tired of this match happening each week. Hopefully we see AJ tonight. Yup, there's AJ with her sexy self. So much YUM there. Just so much YUM! Back from commercial and we get a WM hype video. Oh, god! Please tell me that isn't the WM theme song this year. That is a terrible song! NASCAR on my wrestling? Is this TNA? What? I already don't like this. And now Cena. Wait, all that just to tell people Cena gets to open a race? Um...ok. I don't care. I won't watch. But ok. Good video for the EC match. I see they reexplained the rules. I guess Teddy's mumbling botch from SD! wasn't good enough. I think i'm the only one to watch SD!, but Teddy was terrible on the mic this past SD! ![]() Why does Otunga get so much TV time? He's not good and he's not over. Sheamus gonna squash him. Guess they are waiting until after EC to really build Sheamus again, because going over Otunga doesn't get anyone over. It just gives people a chance to piss. Jericho out...and he's giving a real promo! Everyone is a wannabe. *Cue spice girls* Jericho called out Miz. Bet Shows is happy. But he got the rest of the roster: Kofi, R-Truth, Ziggler...and CM Punk. As predicted, Jericho is going after Punk because Punk calls himself "best in the world". Out comes Punk. Stare off and the crowd is definitely behind Punk. Punk trolled Jericho by not speaking and holding up the WWE Title. Punk turns his back to Jericho...Jericho contemplates, but doesn't hit Punk. Punk walks off. Jericho mad that Punk didn't say anything. That's funny. Ugh, I hate that Khali is back. I thought someone said he retired! Orton and Khali are tag partners. I bet this ends with Khali taking an RKO, just so they have another RKO highlight for the highlight reel. After the match Khali goes to chokeslam, pushes Orton back, and RKO. Yup. John Cena hype video again. Like I said in the SD! thread, this has to be setting up Cena's heel turn. It's "Cena is a guy that will ALWAYS do the right thing....OMG! Cena, what are you doing?! No! Not you! Not Cena! How could you? Why? Cena? Why?" Yup. Diva match. Kharma returned at Royal Rumble. When does she return to Raw? Guess they are building Beth again first. If they had been building Beth this entire time, then they'd have something white hot! Maybe we'll get lucky and Kharma will come out and destroy some of these divas while Beth watches with some expression on her face. Aw, no. Beth didn't get a win and Kharma didn't return. ![]() John L and Triple H backstage. I thought John L was away at a board meeting? Apparently, they'll be an answer tomorrow morning. Hyping an announcement on WWE.com? HBK returning next week. Last year, HBK told Triple H he couldn't beat Undertaker at WM. What does he do this week? And an ambulance match between Cena and Kane. Ambulance matches are terrible gimmick matches. I'm just saying. Replay of Undertaker video from earlier. That is a cool video, even after my second viewing. Anyone that missed Raw should look up that video. Oh, Justin Roberts just messed up in the ring introduction. Lillian Gracia will be on Raw next week! ![]() Winner of the main even goes into the EC match last. Jericho or Punk are the only 2 that will win this, just like they are the only 2 that can win at the PPV. Punk hits GTS on Ziggler. Jericho pulls Punk out and steals the win. Jericho enters EC match last. Jericho vs Punk @ WM all but announced by WWE. |

I thought Raw was over when Jericho was mocking Punk by sitting in the ring with the WWE title, but we get a weird backstage segment with Kane and Eve to close the show. Kane is afraid of Kane. Stupid way to end Raw. They should have ended with Jericho mocking Punk. |

God damn Zigglers work is awesome, he sold that GTS like a champ. Poor Miz though, he botches the double clothesline on Jericho (By practically clotheslining himself) and he fails to catch R-Truth. Uh-oh! Jericho in the ring is always good, but Punk and Jericho in the ring at the same time? Awesome. Wish Ziggles would somehow get thrown in there for a 3 way match. That would be highly entertaining. NO CENA ON RAW?!?!?! wtf m8? HHH v Taker again? Another yawn fest. Even if they throw in HBK i'll still be bored. Lucky they have The Rock v Cena and Punk v Y2J or i wouldn't look forward to WM at all. |

Taker vs HHH was the single best match of 2011. To call a rematch a "yawn fest" is just poor judgement.

I personally thought that match was boring. What was so good about it? They would hit each other with one move/weapon then lay about for 5 minutes trying to get up. I like my matches with speed, near falls etc. Such as something Punk/Ziggler/Jericho kind of guys can and will deliver. |

The story they told. Triple H doing virtually everything he could think of to beat Undertaker and Undertaker just wouldn't stay down. Triple H even asking Taker, at one point, to "just stay down". Very far from boring and much more enjoyable than matches that shoot through moves so fast that you cannot remember even 1/3 of what happened afterward. |

So to sum it up, Miz is getting the exact same de-push that every other new star gets. It happened to Barrett. It happened to Sheamus. It's happened to others. And it'll happen to more in the future. I'm not sure what WWE gets out of building up guys just to bury them, but they do it often. |

I think they are usually so desperate to have an overnight success - somebody that can quickly get to the level of John Cena or higher - that when everybody inevitably fails to become an instant-Austin, WWE loses enthusiasm for them. The Miz, though, is probably more of a scapegoat scenario. He was unlucky enough to be the third wheel in a John Cena/Rock feud during two of the bigger moments of the year and when the second moment failed to live up to WWE's expectations, he was the easy scapegoat. If his performance quality is suffering, maybe he's losing some heart right now? If he is, I wouldn't blame him. If I was in his position, it'd be hard not to do the same. One minute you're on top of the world and the next you're being blamed because WWE's two favorite superstars failed to accomplish what they were supposed to accomplish. |

The Miz should've caught R-Truth a lot better than that, I don't care what anyone says. It seemed like Miz was more concerned with his own safety than Truth's on that particular spot. Not good.
