Bald Undertaker

WWE has recently released four different "WrestleMania" covers for the March 2012 issue of WWE Magazine, featuring The Undertaker, Triple H, John Cena and The Rock.
The magazine indicates that Triple H will face The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVIII. The headline for "The Game" cover says "Can The Game End The Deadman's Reign?" while the headline for the issue bearing The Undertaker reads "Will 'The Streak' Survive?"

The Undertaker cover was apparently designed to conceal his lack of hair as his head is surrounded by photoshopped fire, with no hair visible. Many people have speculated that the iconic wrestler donned a wig in his return to television last week after a photograph surfaced online last summer in which he appeared bald. The Wrestling Observer subsequently confirmed that The Undertaker had indeed shaved his head.

Undertaker should have come back as fake Kane II.

That's a terrible looking pix. It has nothing to do with the fake fire, either. It's just a terrible pose, terrible facial expression, and all around terrible looking pix. :-/

If this is the Undertaker's last WM, then they should show him bald when he takes off the hate. It'll give his career some sort of finality.

I thought Cena was trying to take off the hate.

Clearly if they're smart, they'll have someone shave his head on TV to add to the storyline, almost like losing his hair is a sign of losing his power.

If they don't turn it into an angle or plan on doing it, then you've gotta wonder why Undertaker shaved it off if he knew he'd just have to grow it back out by the next WrestleMania (which until he retires he's almost always guaranteed to be at).

That would be kind of a dumb move on his part.

I am thinking Undertaker just wants short hair/no hair. He's had long hair since he started the Undertaker gimmick, so for about 25 years he's had to have long hair. When he did the gimmick change a while back and became the American Badass Undertaker, he cut his hair short. But he had to grow it back when he went back to the deadman gimmick. So maybe he's just tired of having long hair and wants short hair. And if he's only working 1 match a year now, then maybe he figures there is no point in keeping the long hair if he doesn't really want it.

But he has to know that WWE is going to want him with long hair for WrestleMania, so unless they do an angle where he loses his hair then it was kind of a dumb move since it's a big part of the look of The Undertaker. And since he shaved it, they have to stick that goofy wig on him until something can be figured out.

Besides... if Undertaker goes into retirement after WrestleMania, then wouldn't make sense to just hold on until then when he could do whatever he wants with his appearance without any concerns?

Maybe he is the Undertaker and doesn't give a shit. He is one of the, if not the, longest standing members of the WWE locker room. He can pretty much do what he wants and nobody is going to say dick to him.

Still, it's obvious that WWE is in "WTF are we gonna do" mode with their attempts to cover it all up with crappy wigs and photoshopped pictures.

Judging by his yearly injuries despite him barely wrestling, I'd guess that if he doesn't retire soon his body is going to force him.

If Undertaker can come in just 1 time a year and become one of the most talked about guys of the entire year, have one of the most anticipated matches of the entire year, have MOTY candidate each year, and make a big ass paycheck out of it, then he's probably going to stretch it out as long as possible. Even J.R. has hinted on his blog updates that he doesn't see why Undertaker would retire when he's got this kind of schedule.

Which is really stupid on their part since they've known about this since last summer. They've had 6, 8, maybe 10 months to work this out. And the best they could come up with is a wig that looks so fake that EVERYONE knew it was a wig. Even guys from work that don't do the online gossip knew it was a wig.

And what's even worse, WWE just brought Kane back with a wig and Kane's wig actually looks like real hair. If you didn't know that Kane had a shaved head underneath (and he may be growing it back now, I don't know) then you wouldn't even think that that wasn't his real hair. So how they can make Kane's look so believable and Undertaker's look so fake is baffling.

From what I understand, I think Kane's hair is partly real and partly extensions. So it's not wig really, just partially fake.

Kane has the hair of a black woman, is what I'm trying to say.

When the time comes to see Undertaker without his hair (he can't wrestle with a wig on unless they go the Hair Club for Men route, maybe) it's going to be weird, for sure. Not just because the change in hairstyle but Undertaker's face and head just look like they'd be an odd choice for a bald head. He has a very tall head with a smallish face, leaving him with a giant forehead.

Dude is going to look like a Conehead probably.

By the time Kane's hair is long enough to use it instead of the fake hair, it'll be time for him to retire!

His hair is way to kinky to ever be long they way the Kane mask makes it look.

For anyone that missed Raw this week, a new Undertaker video aired after the Triple H/HBK segment. The Taker video showed Undertaker cutting his own hair off. So there is your storyline explanation for his shaved head.

Nah. It'll be able to hang easier when it gets more weight as it grows longer.

Kane has naturally very wavy/slightly curly hair so when it's left to dry out, it poofs. But Kane used to wet it down majorly back before he cut it and achieved a look identical to the look he has with the mask now.

The mask he wore when he debuted was a wig too.

His hair would still poof when it'd dry out back in the early 2000s, when it was his legit hair. That's when he started to heavily soak it to keep it long and stringy looking. But even then, sometimes he would go long enough or hard enough that his hair would start to dry out and it would poof.

I have the exact same hair texture as Kane. When I had length to it, it would do the exact same thing as his used to.
