If somebody, just a random friend or family member from your offline life was to somehow discover your online life - especially here - and they knew which one was you on each site... how would you react? Would that be a bad thing or a meh thing? Do you think that would affect the relationship at all? |

My mother is cool and accepting, not particularly judgmental. She'd be surprised, but understanding. Most of my other family are pretty much the same, know the same sites and/or just don't care less anyway. Others, I couldn't care less about what they think. My grandmother on the other hand would probably disown me or try to get a few pastors to come talk to me or try to convert me. Repent for my unholiness.

They would not believe that offline DL and online DL were one and the same, especially if they got hold of my blog. |

STAY HYPED!!!

Everyone knows that I like wrestling, so no one would be surprised that I owned a wrestling forum. I think a few would be surprised that I am able to have such long winded conversations though, since I mostly keep quiet in real life a lot.

Stand Back! There's a Hurricane Coming Through

I think the only thing most people would find out about me by reading my online stuff is my extensive knowledge of porn. I have some friends that know about it, but no family does.

I just realized I never answered my own thread. I think that for the most part people wouldn't be surprised by any of it since I tend to be pretty open about my interests and quirks. The only thing that might surprise some people (maybe... 1/3?) is my interest in professional wrestling and my former passion for it. I've grown to find being a wrestling fan to be embarrassing, especially when I can't even stomach most of it anymore when I'm all alone. I find that professional wrestling has so little respect now - even less than before - in a world where MMA is king, at least amongst a lot of the "regular" people I meet. The last few episodes of Raw I tried to watch were with my friend (still a passionate fan) and his girlfriend (not a fan at all) and it was uncomfortable. I already thought what I was seeing was mostly stupid, but experiencing it with somebody who is completely foreign to that world just highlighted it for me. It also really doesn't help that the Muppets episode was one of them (and the last one I watched). I still love thinking about wrestling and talking about it, but the actually watching of it? I just can't enjoy it anymore. It's corny and embarrassing. Even the non mainstream stuff looks ridiculous, really. It's like a switch has been flipped. So I think that's really the only thing people might be taken back by. |

Even with my interest in wrestling at an all time low, I'd still rather watch a good, excitiing, well choreographed wrestling match over most MMA fights. I'm not at all ashamed to admit that to anybody. |

I wouldn't care at all. I have nothing to hide, except my mother would probably scold me for cursing so much.

I think it would be a little weird because I'm such a private person to my parents and a lot of family (something that REALLY surprises people, but not people that really know some family situations I've gone through), but so open online. So if a parent found some of my posts online they'd probably be like "what the fuck? This sounds nothing like you." It would just be like if they found and/or read my journal. It's extremely revealing compared to what my relationship is. This would include my depression (my mom and cousin are the only two people in my family who know; not even my father), some of the reasons behind my passions, and how much of an under-confident person I can be at times. As to my friends, I'm pretty much the exact same person with the level of openness I have on here and with them, and the way I psychoanalyze things, etc., so there would be absolutely no issue. The only thing I've been paranoid about would be a friend seeing that I was talking about them online. But my main friends know about my issues, so there would be no deviance whatsoever. |

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
|
I tend to keep most of my stuff private, online and offline. Most of my family knows that I'm a internet junkie. But I tend to feel shame about my internet past, especially another forum that I used to be active at before I joined 6SW. Some people already know I'm a wrestling fan. Not many care about it. The sport I get to talk about the most with real life friends is (obviously) football. I also review stuff for an online magazine. Some of my friends know about it, but I'd really hope for my dad to not know about it for some reason.

Curious and curiouser... Is it because of the way you behaved on said forum or is it because of the forum itself? |

Notice he did not confirm or deny Purps' accusation. We have our answer gentlemen. It's okay, Driver. We won't like you any less for being a sexual deviant with a weird as fuck fetish. We've been posting for years with Purple Marauder and Cybrus, we're used to that kind of stuff by now.
