I just read about Heady's exploits in the wrestling world (his thread 'tl;dr'). I already knew he had done ring announcing (have known for years, too) but I didn't know it went farther. After reading that and knowing what little I know about what Kame has done, it makes me really wish I had pursued wrestling when I was at that door in 2010. But life had other plans and I've since fallen out of love with wrestling, for the most part. ![]() That said, I read it hoping he would explain why he gave up the administrator position but he didn't. I can't find any post from Heady saying anything about it, but maybe I didn't go back far enough. If they had a site related area it would be so much easier to find out since an admin who has been in that role for almost a decade tends to be something that's worth making a little noise over.

Yeah I have no idea what you are talking about because I didn't read any of that. I only went there with the hopes of talking a couple of people to come here. But, no one but me has posted anything in like 3 days and when I said something about it, suddenly I was the asshole.

A wrestling board, yes. I don't see a reason for why we'd ever completely abandon the wrestling sections. My only issue with renaming the forums is the domain, which DL paid for. It's just easier to get people to come to a site with a real domain rather than get them to come to s13.zetabards/6StarWrestling. I know you can have multiple domains pointing to your site, but who else is going to buy other domains? And if we changed the name and over all concept, we'd have to really redo all the theme images...which I cannot do and would need DL or someone else to do. Really, I'm fine with making a change to the forums. My only thing is that I want to keep the wrestling folders and expand on whatever else breeds activity.

Maybe restart with the themes, completely erasing the skins that we already have. Maybe have three skins total. Two that could be a brand new default look, but one in a light version and one in a dark version (if possible) and maybe the red classic skin purely for nostalgia reasons? Even a new dark skin wouldn't be necessary if the red classic skin was kept as an alternative because that is a dark skin. Thoughts? |

I think removing the current themes would have a much bigger backlash of negativity than you first think. Most members tend to have just 1 or 2 themes that they like using and tend to not like using other ones. And the problem is that almost all of the themes are currently used by members. |

There's only one risk free way of knowing and that's by officially asking what people would think about cleaning the slate with skins. I don't think people are all that attached to the skins as you might think. I think a few people definitely have favorites, but I doubt losing those favorites would kill the experience for them. If possible, too, could always do like they did back on... I think it was when they were PWH, but they had one default theme in multiple colors. So you had your light variants, your dark variants and every basic tone inbetween but one uniform look that was more or less uniquely PWH's. Most forums I've visited usually go with a uniform look of some kind, which is why I even bring it up in the first place (besides a personal interest in a fresh look).

I apologize if I’m out of place here, but I’d like to make a few comments in regards to the posts made about WX if I may. Firstly, to address the issue of Headliner’s resignation as forum administrator, I can shed a little light surrounding his departure. He’d put over nine years into the forum, including thousands upon thousands of posts and he and I have worked together since 2006 in an effort to keep WX alive. He’d felt it was time to take the site off his list of priorities and asked me to take over in his role as primary administrator. I was apprehensive, at first, no doubt. I’m aware that WX has been on life support for a while now, and everything we’ve tried has been met with apathy. We’ve tried reaching out to other boards (although I’d just learned of this place’s existence two days ago), installing a WXtra feature to allow you to watch the latest shows and check out your favorite news sites in one feed, and so many other ideas that it’s ridiculous. Nothing has really made much of an impact. I only took on the role of active administrator because I wanted to ensure that the board would always be there for those who want it. Turns out, as reality is teaching me, that number is down to a lot fewer than the few I’d counted on. Addressing Kraul’s exodus of WX, honestly I had no idea why that happened and had always enjoyed posting with you when you were around. I just assumed that you left with no hard feelings, which apparently isn’t the case. And Purps, you don’t need to go out of your way to close down the “zombie board.” I’ll certainly be reevaluating whether or not I want to be responsible for a community that doesn’t seem to have as strong as ties as I’d previously been keen to believe… |

Hello Gopher, welcome to 6 Star. I apologize if it looks like any members here were putting down your forum. It was not intended that way. I believe it was just a few former posters discussing a forum they used to visit. It in no way was meant as a diss towards your administration or your current boards. It's just people discussing forum history.

DL is really picky about skins. The racist. ![]()
Oh, there's no hard feelings at all. ![]() By the time I left, I was definitely beginning to feel tired of much of the atmosphere there (which I've sarcastically commented on several times) but there wasn't exactly any hard feelings. I was pissed as I left, but that was me reaching a boiling point with all the stupid criticism aimed at wrestlers physiques, wrestlers who are more in shape on their worst days than most of the people making the criticism will ever be in their entire life. I was also somewhat personally attached to that issue at the time, so it struck a raw nerve with me. That said, there was no residual bitterness after I left there. I just realized my time there was over with. I felt I had to dig too much to find good stuff to reply to and the board beginning to feel less like a wrestling board and more like the blog of a "are they a gay couple/are they not a gay couple". It just got old. There's no bitterness, though. |
