STAY HYPED!!!
|
Production Cost: Unknown Worldwide Revenue: $2,782,275,172
Production Cost: $250 million Worldwide Revenue: $255,013,331 I didn't see the comparison until I looked up the synopsis for John Carter. I haven't seen John Carter, but I believe it is considered to be a huge flop. Avatar, however, is the highest grossing movie of all time. I have seen Avatar. I thought it was ok but completely overrated. So since I've only seen one movie, I guess I cannot really compare the two.

BURN IT DOOOWWNNNNNNNN!

I do want to see John Carter, I think the reason it flopped because the advertising campaign was horrendous. I had no idea what the movie was about. |

Stand Back! There's a Hurricane Coming Through

Not an Edgar Rice Burroughs fan? James Cameron claimed that Edgar Rice Burroughs stories were one of the main inspirations for his Avatar film. Considering the original story was written in the early 1900's I always liked the tale. However, I have not seen the new movie. |

I plan on watching John Carter at some point, will probably rent it when it's out on DVD. As for Avatar I enjoyed it but I've never felt like watching it again. It was one of those situations where everyone over hyped that film for me to the point where it could never live up to these really high expectations I had from hearing people talk about it. I never saw it in the cinema (or in 3D) so maybe I missed out on the whole "Wow" factor surrounding it
