BURN IT DOOOWWNNNNNNNN!
|
Both Punk and Cena had a submission hold on Big Show, which led to Big Show tapping out. |

WWE replay showed me what happened. We're good. ![]() BTW, who was it that called that finish in the KIA? Someone called Cena giving Show an AA and Punk pinning. |

So, yeah, i put that performance on mute about 2 seconds into it. Would rather have seen an unannounced match, but WWE does like to have these types of performances on their bigger shows. |

Brock wins via tap out. Damn, I wish I hadn't changed my prediction. I went back and forth so many times and finally just stopped at Triple H winning. Good call from WWE having Lesnar win. He's the guy that should have won. |

I agree with Brock winning here. Him losing twice in his only two matches (I assume he'll have one more match in WWE with Trips again) would have made him look bad. |

I know there are a lot of Cena haters online, but I cannot be the only one that thought the Brock/Cena brawl was better than Brock/Triple H...could I? Brock/Triple H was easily the best match on the Summerslam card (but that's not saying too much), but it was kind of a let down from what I was expecting it to be. I'm not sure where they go with Brock from here. I've read a rumor that Brock only has 1 more match on his WWE contract. Does this mean he goes away again until WM? |

Jericho vs Ziggler - A pretty solid match. I'm glad y2j pulled off the win and officially has the crowd on his side again. My bet is that he'll return the favor for Dolph next ppv. Daniel Bryan vs Kane - This one was kind of weird. I was barely paying attention to the match, and instead focussing on how many times Bryan said "NO!" in the action segments. I was very surprised to see Bryan winning here, because I figured the entire point of the storyline was to make him more and more angry...Mysterio vs Miz - An all around decent match, though I sort of expected it to be more memorable. I also couldn't help but feel that this title is simply below both of these guys and that they should be fighting over main event gold. I'd say my favorite part about this match, however, was that unlike his previous title reign, Miz actually looks like he's holding his own in the match. The one thing I hated about his reign is how he was never treated like he belonged in the main event. Even the biggest cheaters around looked tough from time to time, but Miz never got that privelage apparently. Here though? He looked great against Rey. Del Rio vs Sheamus - I was surprised to find that these two guys work pretty well together. The match itself was quite good in terms of action and pacing. It's just a shame that they had almost no story to go off of, and their characters are both basically one-dimensional. On that note, I wouldn't mind seeing Sheamus cheat some more. Could make for an interesting storyline. Pointless Tag Match - Man, I heard HHH wants to focus more on tag teams, and if he does, I hope he keeps these guys away from the tag scene. Why can't we see tag teams with a REAL theme anymore? Like, what the hell is Kofi and Truth's big theme? How about the Prime Time Players? The color pink, maybe? Big Show vs Cena vs Punk - I really enjoyed this one. In my opinion, the match of the night. Why? Because of the Big Show, actually. I've been very happy with how wwe's been using him lately, and here he was used perfectly. With both Cena and Punk taking their shots at him, and Show constantly knocking them back, he looked like a true monster. Moreso than he has in even the past few months, in fact. Loved the finish as well. Punk basically pulled an Edge there, and honestly, who can blame him? Yeah, it wasn't the stupidly heroci thing to do; something Cena would never do, but it wasn't bad either. Just smart. Loved the way Punk interupted Cena's 5 knuckle shuffle, because it was meant to remind us of what he did to the Rock at Raw 1000. In fact, it was practically the same thing. What stood out to me most was Cole's staticstic of Punk not main eventing by himself since December. And if there's one incredible thing about CM Punk, it's that there's always an element of truth in his gimmick, and here it's that he really HAS been disrespected. The fact that he hasn't main evented on his own since basically the reign just began is a complete slap in the face, and something even I hadn't noticed until around March, I believe. Lesnar vs HHH - I completely agree Cybrus, Cena vs Lesnar was a better match. The difference between this match and that one is simply that with the Cena match, we've never seen anything like it before. Up until then, I had never seen Cena beat down so horribly. And while yeah, he came out winning, Lesnar looked like a true monster who only lost because he was constantly allowing John to recover as he bragged. This match, though? Yeah, he certainly hurt HHH, but HHH wasn't in Cena's slump from back then, and was therefore able to contend a lot better with Brock. Because of that, Brock's repetitive moves became way more noticeable. The beginning of the match was the best example. Brock gave Hunter about 100 shoulder blocks in the corner for about 5 minutes. Got old pretty fast. The odd thing is that Lesnar should have a huge arsenal of moves. Or at least he did back in 2002-2004. It's possible he simply forgot them, though. Anyway, the crowd wasn't really into it either, which I suspect has to do with the live song before it. When will wwe realize that these performances aren't wanted by anyone attending or watching? ![]() Oh, one other thing that bothered me here was that the ppv ended about 15 minutes early, and then they killed 5 minutes of that with HHH's recovery. For whatever reason the crowd actually taunted him a bit too. "You tapped out!" - I flashed back to 2004 after Wrestlemania when I heard that. ![]()
Paul Heyman has basically said that every rumor he's read so far regarding Brock's contract is wrong. I'd say there's a very good chance he'll be sticking around for longer than that. Edited by Cableguy15, Aug 20 2012, 03:47 AM.

I agree about the WWE title match; Big Show being so dominated was actually pretty good. |
