KICKING OFF RAW: PUNK BATTLES SHOW

Suddenly, John Cena doesn't seem like CM Punk's biggest threat to the WWE Championship after Big Show's dominant KO. How will Punk respond to this new development when he faces Big Show to kick off Raw, live at 8/7 CT?

So they're doing a storyline where Punk wants respect... and they still have him open the show... which is now three hours long instead of two. Hah.

... haha...

... AHAHAHAHA!!!

I'm not even going to watch this. Because not only is Jericho going to lose to Dolf Ziggler at Summerslam, who's already been set up multiple times to "Make it" and still hasn't, Punk is doing the very overused gimmick which is serving no purpose at this point in time. The only thing I like right now is that they're actually using Big Show properly recently, but it's not enough for me to tune in.

FINALLY Brock destroys HBK. But now it looks like HHH is all but winning at SummerSlam.

Because not only is Jericho going to lose to Dolf Ziggler at Summerslam,
I actually have doubts about this. I mean, on the one hand, yes it is easy to say this is Jericho's last big program before taking another hiatus and that all he's done since returning has been putting people over and losing. So it's easy to look at this and say "Well, Jericho is putting Dolph over". But, on the other hand, Jericho has lost everything since he returned and could easily be due a win to leave on. They are going to great lengths to say Jericho can't win the big one anymore, which usually means he's going to win. And Dolph is in a similar boat when it comes to wins. How many times has Ziggler won this year? Not very often. I'm really not sure how I'm going to call this match this weekend.

Similar confusion is going into the Brock/Triple H match. On the one hand, Triple H is a part time wrestler that wrestles once or twice a year. He should put Brock over so they can build Brock up for the big WM pay off that they invested in. Brock just lost to Cena at Extreme Rules. He needs a big win at SummerSlam to put heat back on him. But on the other hand, Triple H is coming off losses of his own (has he won a match in the past 2 years?), and this storyline is about him getting revenge on Brock. It can easily go either way.

Punk is retaining the WWE Title, no doubt there. The only doubt is if they want to give Cena/Rock 2 away at Royal Rumble, but I don't think they will. And even if they do, they will keep the belt on Punk until closer to Royal Rumble anyway.

Actually decided to watch some youtube vids. Really not as bad as I thought it'd be. Daniel Bryan's anger issues are as funny as ever, and while yeah, the angle with Punk and Cena (RESPECT) is pretty old and worn, it has managed to do alright somehow. I came out of the show liking Big Show the most, though. I love his "Meh, fuck it" attitude of late. I hope he keeps the gimmick for a while, and above all, at least remains the dominant giant. I'm sure him and Lesnar will cross paths once again in that case.

I do think that wwe have yet again made a mistake with a Lesnar match. It's another one of those matches where it could be bad with either guy losing. Lesnar has lost his only match since the return so far, and while yes, he beat the piss out of Cena in their fight, people will still note two straight losses. Then there's HHH losing... I can't remember the last time he's won a match. In the end I don't think a loss will kill either of them, but it wouldn't hurt if wwe didn't put themselves in this position. Just have them both wrestle regularly for a bit leading up to the ppv and it's not a problem. But of course it's too late for that now.
