Hmm I didn't know he directed MI3.

That seems like too tight of a deadline imo.

Also it's not in May.

Surprised not even Purps or DL posted about the new cast of Episode VII. Andy Serkis, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Daisy Ridley, Max von Sydow and John Boyega are part of the new cast.

I read about revealing a new female character of mixed race on AV Club link. Here's hoping it's Lupita Nyong'o.

Also, I read that all of the movies (obviously) and Star Wars the Clone Wars are canon. It's a surprise that The Clone Wars was included in the canon, but they have mountains of storylines, characters and other things to borrow from the Expanded Universe.

I have a feeling this movie is going to be better than the previous 6 combined. Of course, if you look at the previous 6 objectively, you would realize they weren't that great to begin with. Good universe, good characters and good ideas but a lot of mediocre stories.

Some scenes in the trailer almost matches the look and feel of episodes 4 5 6.

Feels like I should be reading some of the EU comics, but I wouldn't even know where to begin.

Saw this less than a day ago. It was totally awesome revisiting the Star Wars universe, despite the similarities with a certain film. I also found the new characters to be pretty cool and well-acted.

I finally got around to seeing the new movie today. I really loved it. There isn't a new character that I dislike and seeing all of the old characters brought a smile to my face. I can't say that Rogue One is something I'm interested in seeing, but Episode VIII can't come soon enough.

My post contains spoilers with no tags. You are warned.

I forgot to post after I watched this. I really liked it. A lot better than the prequels, which isn't saying much. Everyone has pointed out how it was basically the same story as a New Hope which I really didn't mind. I liked the character of Ben Solo aka Kylo Ren. Although I thought they could have cast a better actor to play him. I called Han's death early on in the movie and it played like Obi-Wan's from the 1st movie.

Biggest question is who is Rey...really. Most people think she is either Luke's daughter or the twin sister of Kylo Ren. I'm not sure which way I lean.

All in all a great Star Wars movie. On par with Empire and New Hope I think.

I will be surprised if Rey isn't revealed to be a Skywalker in the next movie. Also, regarding Rey, I have a feeling that she was trained by Luke alongside Kylo Ren. That intense flashback she had seems to suggest so, anyway. Maybe she suffered some sort of amnesia or her memory was wiped in order to protect her?

Same, thought I hope the actor improves as the character develops in the next two movies.

2012 ROYAL RUMBLE WINNER MOTHERFUCKERS!!!
Spoiler in my post, no tags, oh no!

I saw the movie last week, my wife is a huge Star Wars fan and she had been dying to see the film. She was satisfied with it but was a little upset at Han dying. She understood it though. I had already known that he died prior to watching the film. I was watching an NBA highlight on Youtube, and a guy was replying to everyone's post (only 2 days after the movie had been released) and saying that he died. I wasn't upset knowing that since I'm not as big of a fan of the franchise but I enjoyed the movie and it made me want to watch all the other movies (I've only seen episode II and that was because I was dragged to the theater by a friend).

We waited this long because we didn't want to fight a crowd of people. It worked.
