15,000 sounds about what I'd imagine. I would've expected no more than 50,000, if only because of the difficulties people had with the actual cancellation process while the anger and disappointment was still fresh. That was probably a blessing in disguise, along with the blizzard cancelling more... traditional shows this week. |

15,000 per 1,000,000 equates to about 257 fans at the Royal Rumble in Philadelphia who cancelled (17,164 in attendance). 257 is considerable, but no more than a dent. And they will probably all buy another subscription in the leadup to Wrestlemania. |

I never expected the #cancelWWENetwork thing to lead to any significant numbers. And then when I read that WWE most likely took down the billing page during the height of that, it only made me expect even less of an impact. And when you consider WrestleMania is when WWE will get their most subscribers, then there is almost no impact that's going to come out of this. What I think is going to be interesting about these numbers is the month-by-month aspect. It makes sense that the numbers are going to be at their highest during Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, and SummerSlam months. And the B-level PPVs like Fast Lane or Money in the Bank are probably going to do respectable numbers as well. But the numbers for a PPV like Battle Ground or HIAC or Payback...those numbers are probably going to be the low points this calendar year. The interesting thing is going to be to see whether their is a significant increase/decrease depending on PPV quality or if WWE maintains a comparable average the entire year. I also wonder if they'll release month-by-month numbers like they used to announce PPV buy rates or if they'll just give an average per quarterly report: "This quarter we saw an average of x subscribers which is up/down over last quarter". Also, does anyone remember what the break-even number was? Was it 1 million? Or was it something like 1.3 or 1.5 million? Hopefully, we are at a point where this is at least profitable by WWE (doesn't even have to by by much), so that we won't see more drastic cutbacks and releases and other budget saving procedures. |

Not to sound too much like Vince McMahon, but I can't help but wonder how much that actually helped WWE as opposed to hurt it. Twitter is much more popular than WWE. And while WWE likes to brag about trending during their shows, the truth is that they're not as high impact as they want people to think. The #cancelWWENetwork thing shined a huge spotlight on the WWE Network. I would guess that A LOT of people just heard about the WWE Network for the very first time during this. Maybe they even go check out the service. Maybe they even subscribe. There is absolutely no way we'll ever know, but I would find it funny if #cancelWWENetwork actually led to more subscribers than cancellations. |

They reached a million either late Monday or early Tuesday. The domestic number is ~820k. The free month in November was a big success and February should be free as well. The rest of the growth is from the UK launch. More people subscribed after the Royal Rumble than canceled. They need to average 1.4 million this year to break even. -Mostly from Melty's breaking news audio Edited by NWO, Jan 28 2015, 03:38 PM.

The answer to my question governs whether the free November promotion garnered the WWE Network an extra 20,000 fans, or an extra 180,000 fans. The difference between those two numbers is massive, and very telling of the state of the WWE Network's business. You imbecile. |

A million is the worldwide number as of the press release. ~820k is the domestic number as of the press release I believe. |

I paid 6 months up front during my last renewal. Due to the free-November, my subscription extended for 7 months. If they do the same this month, I'll have gotten 8 months for the price of 6. That's a good deal. Unfortunately, I think I'll miss WrestleMania even with the extra month. Miss it as in my subscription will lapse. I'll renew for WM, obviously. |

In the case I pay monthly rather than the 6-month commitment and restarted my subscription this past Sunday, does it add the extra month when my first month ends? |

Agreed. Also, I'm so glad the PS4 WWE Network has, for lack of a better words, chapters for events. I use WWE Network through game consoles almost exclusively, but the 360 app didn't have the ability to skip straight to matches. So if I wanted to watch a PPV for one or two specific matches, I'd have to look up where it was on the card and fast forward until I found it. I don't know if the app for consoles was update universally or not since I had last used it in September, but by the time I used it again it was with my PS4 in December and the chapters thing seen when you use WWE Network on a PC was present. That's probably my favorite thing. I only have one real complaint, though. Again, I don't know if its just the PS4 app or if its universal for consoles, but they seem to have gotten rid of being able to sort all events by year. It used to be the default way of listing PPVs. What I mean is like if you just want to watch all the WWE PPVs from 1996. That's a pain just because I tend to watch these things in chronological order. It's a bit more work to manually figure out which event is next, either by guess work or looking it up online. |

I can still sort shows by year and/or by oldest/newest on my laptop. Are you saying you cannot on your PS4? Also, I agree with the chapters/bullet point system for the shows. I find they are sometimes present and sometimes missing from shows on my laptop. I have always taken that to mean they simply haven't implemented the system on all the shows and not that the feature just isn't available on all platforms, but idk. If there is one complaint I have against the bullet point system (and this is minor), it's that they give away the winners in this format. I can pick a random show from the past and watch it through new eyes. I have forgotten the outcome to most matches, with only the significant matches remaining a memory. Therefore, I can watch a show and almost entirely feel like it's "new" content since I literally have no idea who is going to win. But at the same time, I usually have no idea what matches are taking place on random shows unless I look them up. So if I look at the bullet points to see what matches are there and which I want to skip to, I run the risk of accidentally seeing the winners for the matches and thus spoiling the event for myself. Again, this is a minor complaint since I've learned to just avoid every second bullet point. But I do wish they would use a more generic description for those bullet points. I'd be perfectly fine with the first bullet point being "wrestler vs wrestler" so I can see who is in the match and the second bullet point just being "end of match" so I know that's where the match ends.

I took a few pictures with my phone to show what it looks like on the PS4: When I access the PPVs section for a company, I see the events listed in alphabetically order like this: ![]() When I select an event, it's then listed in order by year - with the option to select a specific year above: ![]() I'm not sure how it is on a computer since I stopped trying to watch it on my laptop last summer when it would freeze after a few minutes every time (and only for WWE Network), which is why I started using the 360 app instead. But I do know that when I was last using the app on the 360 back in late summer/early fall, it listed all PPV events by year by default, and you'd narrow it down by selecting the specific year from there. For example, if I went into it now and it was still the same, it'd probably list Royal Rumble 2015 first, then whatever was in December (TLC?), then Survivor Series of last year, etc. I don't know if the app updated universally or if that was just how the 360 app was, but I kind of miss that ability. If I could have it just as an option, it would be ideal for the kind of viewing I do. For example, I'm currently working through the rise of Stone Cold in WWE from the moment he split from DiBiase onward but I have to search out what comes next rather than simply selecting the next PPV listed. Its a relatively minor complaint, though. Just one small way the service could be improved.
Literally minutes after I sang the praises of the bullet points, I started an event that didn't have ANY - SummerSlam 1996. It made me very glad that it exists because I only watched a couple matches and that was a significant pain to skip through compared to the bullet points. And I totally agree about the accidental spoilers. There have been several times I've tried to see what the matches of the event are only to see an ending and ultimately get turned off to the idea of bothering watching one of the lesser matches at all because of it. Perhaps another small improvement would be a proper match listing option when selecting an event to watch? |

If you sign up for the WWE Network, your subscription expires 1 month from the date you subscribe. WWE is giving away February for free, which i take to mean you'll get 1 free month from the day you subscribe. If you wait until February 28 to subscribe, would you get all of March free? Would you get WrestleMania free? |

Maybe they'll automatically charge you on the first? I would look at the terms to see. With the whole February is free thing, it might specifically say that only February is free - rather than a month free if you sign up in February. |

If I'm not mistaken, you have to register your credit card (or PayPal account) when you sign up for the WWE Network the first time regardless of it being a free month. Has anyone read about experiences from people registering to the Network during November 2014 and this month? |

They probably charged him and then refunded it back just to make sure the account/card was legit so they can charge if it runs past the free month. |

That's still not how that should go. You can put a card on file sure, but there shouldn't be a charge placed on it until the next month, even if they refund you. You are going into the agreement that its a free month and, if you wish to continue, then they have your permission to charge you, not before. |

WWE has put a hold on a lot of the free month orders. It was like that for the original free trial of the network too and they fixed it fairly quickly. There's no reason to hold the money and it's definitely the wrong thing to do. |

When I select the PPV section on my laptop, it'll list all the WWE PPVs (or WCW/ECW if I choose those tabs). Spoiler: click to toggle I have the option of selecting any individual PPV name and it'll list all the PPVs (all Backlash PPVs, for example). By default, it'll list the most recent PPV first, buy I can change that Spoiler: click to toggle I can also just pick a year and it'll list only the PPVs that aired that particular year. Again, I am free to list the PPVs either from most recent (December to January) or oldest to newest (January to December) Spoiler: click to toggle

Yeah, that last screenshot... I want that in my PS4 app. It was the default way to display the PPVs on the 360 app, but its sorely lacking on the PS4 version. Unless there's just some not so obvious way to do that. I've even tried seeing if I could run a search for a year, but it won't let me. |
