I could see that happening, and that would be fine as long as it was optional. They still have a lot of content that they could add to the Network. They have all their wrestling DVDs, all their WWE Films movies, previous Hall of Fame ceremonies, and probably lots of other stuff they could add.

I am very curious to see how many subscribers they have. I would assume they have a substantial amount of subscribers if they are willing to let DISH drop WrestleMania. Today is the last day to sign up for a free week trial, so in one more week WWE will know exactly how many subscribers they actually have.

I doubt they'll have different tiers (other than for multiple streams). I see a $5 price increase in 2015, but that would be it, I guess. I would happily pay $15 a month for this service.

I agree. If I am on my computer, I usually always have the WWE Network playing in an open tab. I may not be watching it every single second, but I'm listening to something. Add in the fact that I get a new PPV monthly, and I think I'd be comfortable playing more than $10. I'd probably be comfortable going as high as $20 without thinking twice. I'd probably be around the $30 mark (which I don't think they'll ever push to) that I'd probably start figuring up when to buy a 6 month contract so that I could try to get both WM and SummerSlam without having to buy the Ocotober-December stuff.

Once they get enough subscribers, I can honestly see WWE doing a "Basic" "Pro" "Premium" package deals in the future.
I agree.

If I had to guess, they'll probably just do two levels, the basic and premium. Basic gets access to all content and current PPVs after a "set" period while Premium will get everything plus the ability to stream PPVs live.

The PPVs are the selling point of the Network. If they are going to ever do "basic" and "premium" levels, the PPVs would have to remain a part of the basic level. The premium stuff would have to be the added content such as the DVD archives, movie archives, etc. If they ever take the PPV thing out of the basic package, they'll kill the appeal.

I noticed a couple of days ago that they now have the WCW and ECW PPVs listed under the "Vault" tab. I thought that may have just been an error or a glitch, but they haven't fixed it. So I am now wondering if they are planning to do a layout change soon.

This week's "WWE Countdown" was really fun. It was the "biggest blunders". They made fun of Sid and Steiner's notoriously bad promo skills. They made fun of the Shockmaster. Things like that. The one surprise was the Warrior moment. I'm not surprised that they included the Warrior, because even though he's going into the HOF WWE does like to make fun of him. My surprise was they went with the Papa Shango/Warrior voodoo storyline instead of the Hogan/Warrior WCW storyline that was horrible. Warrior appearing in the mirror that Hogan could see, that the fans in the arena could see, that the people watching on TV could see, but that Eric Bischoff...who is standing right beside Hogan...could not see. C'mon, let me laugh at that again!

Elimination Chamber 2014 is finally available on the WWE Network. You know, for anyone that hasn't seen it or wants to relive the 2 awesome matches from the show. :tu:

I am definitely a WWE Network whore because I am finding myself even liking the Slam City shows. These things are less than 2 minutes each and the scripts leave something to be desired, but they are entertaining for what they are. Anyone else watch them?

Is it just me are can we no longer pause or rewind the "live" shows? I noticed it a day or so ago, but thought maybe it was a glitch. I was getting "media not allowed to be played in your area" when I tried to watch the "live" schedule for a while. I still get that occasionally, but I can watch the "live" schedule if I refresh the page a few times. But I still don't have the option to pause or rewind. Did they remove that?

I am only talking about the live schedule. I can still pause, rewind, and fast forward through the archived shows. Only when I'm watching whatever show they have on their schedule are the options missing.

As I expected, I was able to watch WrestleMania without a single technically problem. I watch it on my laptop, so I don't know if there were problems for console or tablet users. I do know that I am a very satisfied customer and plan to keep my subscription yearly :tu:

Did anyone have any technical problems? And what platform did you view from?

During the pre-show the audio was horrible, but once WM started, the stream and audio was perfect.

For anyone that doesn't have the WWE Network and is curious, WrestleMania 30 is already up for viewing. It was available for viewing within an hour of going off the air. :tu:

- WWE stock is currently down over $5 per share after WWE released the numbers for the WWE Network this morning. As noted, they are currently at 667,287, not including potential failures to comply with subscription terms and six month commitment.

- When the WWE Network subscriber numbers came out on Monday, there were people within WWE who were surprised and took it as not a good sign. Many in the company were expecting over 1 million subscribers. Apparently there's talk that we may see a price jump to $11.99 or $12.99 per month next year.

Ditto. WWE had a huge chance of getting a bigger "bragging rights" viewership if you counted their worldwide fans, but chose to only test it in the States instead. :busy:

I'm pretty sure they don't have worldwide clearance because their international PPV contracts don't allow them to undercut their current deals. I'd think they would have loved to launch everything once.

Additional international subscribers don't really have any affect on the subscriber number in the United States. There is a separate break even point for what they will need internationally.

The break even point in general is a little misleading. It's not what the network needs to turn a profit itself, but what it needs to turn a profit factoring in cannibalization of what their other business is. The network itself is already profitable with that subscriber number. It's just not making as much as they would have if WM was only available through traditional PPV. And we don't even know that because traditional PPV is still available and we don't know how many people ordered it that way.

It's a solid number that should make the network viable in the short term (but not particularly more profitable than what they were earning before which is why the stock dropped). Hopefully they realize this is a long term thing and already having more subscribers in the US than normally order their biggest show of the year is a very good thing. You're already going to have a lot more people paying for your smaller shows than normally do even if what they're paying isn't as high. That's guaranteed money coming in every month.

That's a tremendous base to build on. You're sort of the pioneers of a new distribution model that should only become more popular. Whatever growing pains they're having at the beginning should be expected. They'll be more profitable long term for getting in the game early and having to go through them. The only concern is if this number just represents a cap of the number of people willing to pay for wrestling in the United States. I hope they take a more ambitious approach towards trying to grow that number instead of taking away content or substantial price increases.

WWE still managed to have the WWE Network and PPV providers in the States. I don't think their PPV deals for other countries would forbid them to launch the Network on other countries... as in, you can still have two ways of seeing PPVs.

But yeah, international buyers aren't as huge as they are in the States itself.

I wonder if the initial reported glitches/mistakes and the 6-month-commitment bit may have prevented others in the States from subscribing.

It'd be interesting to also see how many PPV buys this WM had that should be apart from the WWE Network.

This WWE Network subscribers numbers can be either good or bad. Time will tell...

WWE's goal is to hit 1 million subscribers and they already have 667,287 after 42 days, and this is seen as bad news? When MITB and SummerSlam rolls around, I'm pretty confident they'll have the momentum to hit 1 million, as those are the big two going into the summer.

As a WWE Network subscriber, I'm very happy with the Network and will be renewing my subscription each time it's due. And if WWE raises it's price to $13, then that's perfectly fine. There is a lot of content on the WWE Network. I would gladly go as high as $20/month without thinking twice, given all that WWE provides with this service.

International viewers are going to be very happy when the services is finally released world wide, I do believe. I haven't been keeping up too closely, but isn't the plan still to have the WWE Network be fully released before WM 2015?

WWE is once again doing the one week free trial offer for the WWE Network. Guess they only stopped it so people wouldn't watch WM30 for free? I wonder if they'll do the same for each PPV where they stop the free trial a week prior to the PPV, but allow the free trial once again after the PPV is over?

WWE had a quarterly conference call today. A few things WWE Network related:

ProWrestling.net

-Barrios said they are planning a network global launch for later this year. They also intend to report the subscriber count on a quarterly basis.

-Barrios said they 667,000 count for WWE Network works out to roughly $80 million annually and noted that it's more than they generated domestically from pay-per-view.

-WWE took an $8.6 million hit for WWE launch costs that included customer service, programming, and marketing.

So if I'm understanding this correct, WWE took an $8.6 million hit to launch the Network, but are on track to make that up 10 fold within the first year. That's good business.
