Well, shit. I just subscribed. But I'm only gonna use it for a month. With the WWE Network being available on 170 countries, I wonder how will the streaming fare. I know some had problems before, but with more subscribers... For some reason, I decided to check out the 2007 Royal Rumble as my first PPV viewing. Right from the start, I noticed that the songs they use on PPVs don't appear. They had a song from Rise Against (Drones) which was used to hype the PPV and it doesn't appear. Oh, well... Is anyone else having issues with the WWE Network? Whenever I try to watch a video, I just get the loading screen. Nothing loads. Edit: This is a screenshot of what I mean Spoiler: click to toggle It will get to the 10 second rating screen, but that won't load at all. I have tried deleting my cookies/cache on Firefox, but that doesn't help. Is anyone else having this issue? Or does anyone know how to fix this issue? Edited by Cybrus, Aug 13 2014, 03:08 PM.

Same here. And launching it worldwide just before a PPV (not to mention one of the "Big 4") takes place, you would have to expect problems. It froze for me a couple of times while streaming last night on the PS3. |

It's absurd that Canada got such a short end of the stick. I know WWE said that Rogers gave them a deal they couldn't pass up, but this seems rather ridiculous. They are making whatever amount at the expense of fans that actually want to buy the Network. Edit: Ok, ignore everything I just said about doing a full reset of Firefox. I just added my add ons back to firefox and the Network wouldn't work anymore. It's the Adblock add on that is causing the problem. I disabled Adblock and videos are working fine. Not sure about other browsers, though. Just thought I'd share Edited by Cybrus, Aug 14 2014, 12:56 PM.

I hope they don't start adding ads to a paid service. That would be disappointing. I still think they'd do better with a tiered subscription model. They could have a basic model for $9.99 that gives you access to just the PPVs. And then they could have a more expensive premium model that gave you the PPVs, archives, and original programming. |

I just watched the first episode of the Monday Night War documentary that WWE has been hyping for...well, ever since before the Network launch. I think they showed this episode a few weeks/months back as a preview after Raw, but the series officially launched Friday night. I am not sure how many episodes will be in this series, but I liked the first episode. The first episode, for all intents and purposes, was basically just background information. It talked about how WWE got to Mondays on Raw and it told how Turner bought JCP and turned it into WCW. They even had that classic Vince quote about Ted calling him saying he was now in the wrasslin business and Vince saying he's in the entertainment business. You know the one. It ended with WCW taking the first shots at WWE by giving away their results, having Alandra Blaze throw the women's title in the trash. I am guessing the real meat of this documentary is going to be the NWO, Austin, and Bret Hart. The first episode was seamless and laid the foundation for this series. This isn't a complaint, but more of an observation. So far, this hasn't really been anything new. They have literally just taken old footage and are telling a different version of what they've already said. If you've seen past DVDs or clips about this subject, chances are you've seen most of the first episode anyway. That's not to say there won't be all new footage or even that there is anything wrong with them doing this. I'm just saying that's what it is. |

I'm looking forward to seeing this even if it slightly a rehash of what they've made in the past about it. Are there any new/fresh interviews or perspectives about it or is everything some what recycled from old releases? |

So far, it's only been recycled clips from previous interviews. They even show the year each segment was filmed. It really jumps around. But the way they present the interviews seems new. Like, they showed a ratings comparison for the first few weeks showing how Raw had the edge but that they were piratically even, then showing how Nitro was winning each week for several weeks in a row. But like I said, this first episode felt like background info anyway. It was basically "here is how the two companies got to Monday night. Here is how the war started" and then it cut off right as the really interesting stuff was about to start. I expect to see older clips woven into this documentary, but I also expect to see new stuff recorded specifically for this documentary as well. |

WWE announced on Raw that Nitro will be added next week. That's great! ![]() I really hope they add all the episodes at once. I understand what they are trying to do, how they are trying to make it a series by adding only a few episodes a week. But as a paying customer, I'd rather have access to the full library immediately. If I want to watch a specific PPV, for example, and want to watch the 4 episodes of Nitro (or Raw) leading up to that PPV, I should be able to. The full library should be added for everything. Making me wait for the library to be built kind of makes me think "well, I may as well wait to subscribe since the stuff I want won't even be available for another year"

Another rational thought could be, 'If I don't support the product now, the library might never have all the content I want.' |

Yeah, I just got up to that part of Raw. The first time they mentioned it they just said Nitro was coming next week. ![]()
This would be comparable to Netflix only airing partial seasons and making you wait while they build their library for arbitrary reasons. There is no reason why the full library shouldn't be added in full. They can still do their "weekly build" thing in their live programming stream. But paying members should have full access. I can already see the PPVs I want in any order I want at any time I want. I should be able to do the same with the Raw and Nitro archives. If they want to give that "building" affect, then add all of the Raw episodes at once. Then wait a few months later and hype the addition of all the Nitro episodes. Then wait a few more months and hype the addition of all the SmackDown archives. Then wait a few months and hype the addition of the Thunder episodes. But I shouldn't have to wait weeks or months just to catch the next episode of a show that originally aired 10-20 years ago! |

WWE has a much smaller video library to bring to the Network than Netflix does. Netflix has probably a hundred thousand times as many hours of stuff to pick from to add to their catalog than WWE does. Nitro, RAW, Smackdown, Thunder are the big things they have left. They need to keep people renewing. I'm surprised they aren't having things expire yet. If anything, they should start putting time limits on stuff and putting some back into the vault so members never have it all at once. Revealing your whole hand at once is the worst thing you can do. Why would people who don't care about most of the PPVs keep subscribing? |

I haven't look very deeply into the WWE Network, but when it was launched, I was under the impression that the entire WWE library was already part of the package. I am very gald I haven't subscribed yet if Nitro isn't even on there. What about ECW or the AWA or World Class? If all you can do right now is was old WWF footage, I'll be glad to wait. |

This is the worst possible idea. Removing content from a VOD service would be death to the service. Who is to say why a person subscribes or what content they are searching for? The Attitude Era is the selling phrase, but who is to say random subscriber is a fan from the New Generation and is specifically looking for that content so he can relive his childhood or whatever. But then he subscribes, he agrees to a 6 month commitment, he gives WWE his money, and the content he paid to see isn't even there and won't be until some arbitrary date? You probably just lost a subscriber.
This is where their new WWE Network exclusive content comes into play. It's the new content, not the archives, that will drive subscription renewal. WWE does a good job of doing countdown shows or WrestleMania rewinds, but why not do features on current storylines or current wrestlers? They did a great job on Daniel Bryan's road to Wrestlemania documentary. They did a great job with the Shield's road to Summerslam documentary. Provide more content like this. It doesn't even have to be month long documentaries that recap such wide spans of time. They can do smaller series highlighting certain feuds and wrestlers. I'd rather see something like that over a Raw pre/post show or a "this week in WWE" recap. To recap: Archive footage should be fully and openly available from the moment a person pays to subscribe. New WWE Network exclusive content and monthly PPVs should be the driving point towards renewal and weekly anticipation. |
