After 13 years, Ash’s Charizard returns

Ash's Charizard is back. That's right, because tonight on Pokemon: Best Wishes!, Pocket Monster trainer Ash once again got his Charizard.

Fans of the anime will know that this Charizard is the fifth Pokemon Ash nabbed, and tonight's episode, told partly in flashbacks, gave the Pocket Monster's backstory.

The Charizard became Ash's most powerful, but the monster grew distant, and they finally parted ways, with Ash leaving his Charizard in a valley filled with other powerful Charizards. (Though, to be honest, Charizard did pop up a few times after that!)

Note that the parting episode was broadcasted in Japan in 2000 and in 2001 in North America.

In this latest episode, Ash's Charizard is returning as a regular character on Pokemon: Best Wishes!. So you can see the character on a weekly basis starting next week!

I never knew Ash had any other than Pikachu.

That tells you how familiar I am with the show.

I haven't watched the show in years, but when I was younger, it was definitely my favorite TV series by a long shot. Ash's Charizard was badass.

I remember his Charizard had all the coolest fights, like against Magmar, I'll never forget that one. In fact, the last episode I watched was his Charizard losing to some generation 3 Pokemon. It was right after he finally beat Gary. I was all excited, thinking he would win the tournament, and then he loses to this random guy... and that's when I knew the show was never going to end and that it was going downhill from there, so I stopped.

2012 ROYAL RUMBLE WINNER MOTHERFUCKERS!!!
I just recently started re-watching all of the episodes, starting from episode one. I was watching between 4-7 episodes a day (it's been really fucking slow at work) on my iPod touch.

This is good news though.
