It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!

A video package recaptures what previously happened during 2014. At the 2014 Royal Rumble, Edge (for the record, undefeated at WrestleMania: won MITB in WM23, ended Taker's streak at WM24, won at WM25, won at WM26 and then retired after winning at WM27) made his return to the ring after 3 years and won the Rumble Match to secure the Main Event Spot for WrestleMania XXX by eliminating both Kane (who broke his eliminations record at 14, inlcuding a surprise elimination of Andre the Giant) and Jerry Lawler last. At the Elimination Chamber PPV, Ric Flair retained the company's World Heavyweight Championship in the Elimination Chamber match against Roderick Strong, Kane, Ricky Steamboat, Kevin Steen, and Eddie Guerrero (Guerrero as the runner-up because Flair low-blowed him twice and applied the Figure Four Leglock to retain the title) while Edge retained his WM spot against Jerry Lawler in a Street Fight match. Date: March 03, 2014. Venue: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California, USA. Out comes Vince McMahon, the General Manager. Vince: Tonight, we're starting Monday Night Raw with something historical. From now on, we are known once again... the way it should have always been... the World Wrestling Federation! Massive crowd pop and "Thank you, Vince!" chants roared. Quickly, Vince mentioned that the Money In The Bank Ladder Match will make an appearance at WM and then he introduced Ric Flair as the WWF World Heavyweight Champion. Flair rambled about being the dirtiest player in the game and the best wrestler of all-time, citing that his championship reign is still going on since WrestleMania 28. "No one can ever beat me! Everyone I stepped into the ring with ended up losing or retiring.", he said, leading to Edge's theme song playing and the Rated-R Superstar shows up. Edge touted that he's still undefeated at WrestleMania and nothing's gonna stop that, not even Flair. Flair was ready to kill Edge right after the Rated-R Superstar made a brief reference of Flair's recent divorce, but Vince interfered and said both to stay apart until WrestleMania. They disobeyed and a brawl erupted, only to have security split them apart. Crowd chanted "let them fight!" as the guards kept them separated. Meanwhile, qualifiers for MITB took place on Raw. A promo backstage showed Eddie Guerrero taunting Ricky Steamboat since he eliminated him during the Chamber match. Eddie entered the ring to fight against El Hijo Del Santo. Match #1: Eddie Guerrero vs El Hijo Del Santo The match went on for 15 minutes and the finish saw Eddie Guerrero going to the turnbuckle ready to hit the Frog Splash, but HDS avoided it and rolled him up for the 3 count. Winner: El Hijo Del Santo. Eddie was horrified and remained outside the ring without the security guards being successful at making him leave the place. Shortly after the commercial break, the second qualifying match took place. Match #2: Ricky Steamboat vs Kofi Kingston The match went on for 10 minutes, in which Kofi connected Steamboat with Trouble in Paradise, but still wasn't enough to take Ricky down. Just when Ricky was about to finish Kofi, Eddie Guerrero (who remained outside the ring covering his head as if he was crying) stormed the ring with a steel chair and made Kofi bleed heavily with several chair shots. Winner by DQ: Kofi Kingston Ricky was not amused (neither was the crowd, who booed this ending heavily) -- as Gordon Solie said, "Eddie Guerrero made Kofi Kingston win on purpose just to piss off the Dragon... I hope he knows what he's getting into" -- and attacked Eddie... but the Mexican laid him out too. Kofi got up, not realizing that he won the match and qualified to the ladder match at WM. After the commercial break, a match for the WWF Tag Team Championship would take place. The stipulation is that if the Dudleys lose, they will not get a title rematch at WrestleMania. First, the American Wolves came down to the ring to join Gordon Solie and Hugo Savinovich at the announcers table. Match #3: The Dudley Boyz © vs The Hart Dynasty (w/ Jimmy Hart, Natalya & Mia Yim) Near the end of the match, Mia Yim (best of friends with Natalya) accidentally hit Tyson Kidd, which almost gave the Dudleys the victory, but David Hart Smith made a save. Following several interferences from Andre the Giant (who knocked out Bubba, but then disappeared when Kane showed up as they brawled inside the crowd), Natalya and Jimmy Hart, Tyson Kidd pinned D-Von to win the match and become the NEW WWF Tag Team Champions. Winners and NEW WWF Tag Team Champions: The Hart Dynasty (Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith The crowd wasn't amused with this. To everyone's surprise, while the Hart Dynasty started their celebrations, Natalya spat on Mia Yim and started to beat her up. Mickie James showed up with The American Wolves to save Mia from the beatdown. The Hart Dynasty was chased away by the Wolves while Mickie helped Mia, but the LAX (Hernandez & Homicide) with LuFisto surrounded the ring... only to run away when the Dudleys re-appeared. Following the commercial break, a promo hyping the WWF Women's Championship match between reigning champion The Fabulous Moolah, Chyna and Victoria against a 4th female wrestler between fan favorites Mickie James and Amazing Kong aired. Shortly after, a new MITB Qualifying match would take place for three spots through a 6-man tag team match. Match #4: Roderick Strong, Kevin Steen & Intercontinental Champion Raven © vs Delirious, Jimmy Snuka and Lou Thesz The match ran for 12 minutes and the ending had Delirious quickly dispatching Roderick Strong (who tagged in just when Steen clearly dominated the entire match) with a Brainbuster. Raven and Steen weren't amused at this. Winners: Delirious, Jimmy Snuka and Lou Thesz The announcers mentioned that the Main Event would be The American Wolves and Edge against Ric Flair and the LAX. Meanwhile, Mickie James and Amazing Kong arrived to the ring to define who goes for the Women's Championship at the "Grandest Stage Of Them All". Match #5: Mickie James vs Amazing Kong The Fabulous Moolah was on commentary during the match and the finish had Kong surprisingly about to be beaten by James, but the LAX distracted Mickie and Kong finished her off with two powerbombs. Winner: Amazing Kong Moolah stepped into the ring and cut a promo saying she wasn't pleased with Kong winning that way, but Kong stole Moolah's belt and smashed her in the face and then proceeded to powerbomb her. Mickie James tried to help Moolah, but LuFisto knocked her out and Kong continued to pummel Moolah until the security guards made her leave the arena. A few moments later, the main event was about to take place. The Wolves came out first, followed by the LAX. Then, Edge came out to a huge reaction and then Ric Flair's limo arrived. Main Event: The American Wolves & Edge vs. The Latin American Xchange & WWF World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair © The ending saw the Wolves getting taken out by the hart Dynasty, which left Edge alone against the LAX and Flair. Despite spearing Homicide and Flair, Hernandez did the Border Toss on Edge and the Flair hooked Edge into the Figure Four Leglock while Homicide connected a Moonsault on Edge with Flair not letting go of the hold and Hernandez stomping Edge's face. The Rated-R Superstar had no choice but to tap out. Winners: The Latin American Xchange & WWF World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair © Edge was left beaten in the ring. The announcers wondered if Edge's streak will come to an end. They also mentioned that for next week, the next MITB Qualifying matches will take place: Kane vs Rhyno - Andre the Giant vs Jerry Lawler - Adam Cole vs Tyson Kidd vs David Hart Smith. End show. |
