It's an option if his shoulder allows him to do it. But I'm not sure it's something they want to do. These specials are largely what has built the NXT brand. There's a certain level of performance that is expected. This card already seems a little light compared to some previous cards. I'm not sure that they want the main event to be a glorified angle. If it's done well they can probably get away with it since it is the exception rather than the norm, but I don't see it as something Triple H would do unless there is no other option. |

Rumor has it that Samoa Joe will be making his WWE debut on the live Network Special this Wednesday! With Zayn hurt, I would assume that we'll see KO beat the living hell out of Zayn and Joe come out to stop the attack for storyline reasons currently left untold.

Bryan Alvarez hinted last week that WWE was planning something everyone would like so I assume this is it. Makes it easier to turn the Owens/Zayn match into a glorified angle if Zayn is hurt. |

How messed up is it that after years of wanting Joe in WWE, most of his fans would rather he show up on NXT this Wednesday than Payback this Sunday?

I don't watch NXT. I rarely get to see full episodes of WWE. However, I think the people in NXT are treated more like wrestlers and given more opportunity to work their characters and such because they don't have to share TV time with stars like Cena or Daniel Bryan or Randy Orton or whomever. So, anyone, including Joe, would be given more of a big time treatment in NXT than if he showed up on Raw or a PPV. He can be a bigger fish in a smaller pond so to speak. So, fans of Joe will more than likely get to see him treated as a bigger deal in NXT. If he just randomly showed up on Raw for example, they would probably slap a Samoan character on him, like they did with the Usos, and see what happens. In NXT he can develop a character better. |

I don't disagree with any of that. I just think it's a messed up state of affairs when veteran talent has a better chance of breaking out on what is still considered the developmental brand as opposed to on the actual main roster. |

It's messed up when they sign veterans they never had interest in before to prop up Triple H's vanity project. NXT is in a weird state between a second brand and developmental right now. It does no one any good to have the best wrestlers in the world of the same show as people who are having the first matches of their career. There is no reason for people like Baron Corbin and Dana Brooke to face backlash for not being ready when they're in developmental. |

I agree. And I am still not sure how they are going to build NXT as a separate brand. The biggest problem is that anyone that becomes a name will go to Raw, so NXT will never have permanent legs. The other big problem is that these people in developmental don't get paid nearly as much as main roster talent and shouldn't be expected to have the same schedule for a fraction of the pay. |

What's up with the Demon? I forget his name but I keep seeing the Demon rising stuff everywhere. Dale Torborg is going to be pissed. Does Gene Simmons get paid every time this guy comes to the ring? Lots of questions |

For what it's worth Samoa Joe has been taking new independent bookings and is now booked through August. That certainly implies he won't be starting any time soon, but perhaps they're allowing him to do it. |

Could be a red herring? WWE trying to throw internet fans off their game by allowing Joe to book independently so his appearance will be more of a surprise? Didn't they do something like this before with someone else? |

They always have guys finish their bookings so that might be what you're thinking of. I know Bryan worked his already scheduled independent dates after coming back to WWE when he was fired in 2010. I think it's more likely that they have some kind of deal that allows Joe to take bookings and work NXT TV with limited time at the performance center. There's really no reason for someone who has worked on American TV for a decade to be training how to wrestle. Edited by NWO, May 20 2015, 12:26 AM.

I had posted this in another thread by accident, so i'll quote the remarks to keep the conversation flowing properly:
The thing about KO vs Zayn is how much can Zayn work? It's been discussed before how expectations for TakeOver specials are pretty high. If Zayn can't work and is just there for KO to write him off while he heals/surgery, then they need something big to end with. That would either have to be Joe or Cena, right? I am expecting one of the two tonight, possibly both if they decide to put Joe in Hideo's place. |

Samoa Joe vs Kevin Owens could be the best thing of 2015! This is going to be so great! I seriously hope they let Kevin Owens go over Cena at Elimination Chamber. It's not for the US Title, right? So there is a chance.

Yeah, I don't think their match at Elimination Chamber is for the US Title. That could certainly change, though. Regardless, creative would be stupid to not Owens over. Cena would gain nothing from beating him and they should continue building up KO to be a force to be reckoned with. I popped hard for Samoa Joe's debut last night. Kind of surreal to finally see him in a WWE ring. Edited by Kame, May 21 2015, 02:27 PM.
