Scott Fishman of The Miami Herald is featuring an interview with former WWE Diva Jillian Hall discussing her release from WWE and upcoming plans.

"I wasn't really happy with what I was doing with the company for a while. I just reached a point where I felt it was time to move on and see what else is out there for me to do. I was on the road so much for a really long time. It was close to six years that I was on the road. So these last couple of months have been so relaxing, but I do miss it. I do miss traveling to a certain extent. I don't know that I really want to go back. I love the company and the people in it. I just think that part of my life is over. I'm saying that now, but it can change a month from now. Who knows Right now I'm so up in the air whether I want to continue wrestling or pursue other avenues. There is a part of me that definitely wants to wrestle again. There is another part of me that hurts and says, `Don't do it anymore. Give your body a rest.'"

You just realized that Rock was half Samoan?
Is it bad that I didn't even know The Rock was part-black until a couple of years ago?

World Wrestling Entertainment released their top Producer/Agent Dave Finlay yesterday, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

The story making the rounds is that The Miz was booked to come out an interrupt the national anthem during a house show in Champaign, IL over the weekend. There were a number of representatives for the National Guard, who are a HUGE partner and sponsor for WWE, in attendance. Obviously, they were not pleased with the anthem being used to get heel heat.

When word made it's way back to WWE management, the decision was made to release Finlay, who as the top Producer of the show, "had to fall on the sword", as it was described to me.

There were a lot of shocked people within the company today as word began to make the rounds among the wrestlers and staff. Finlay was well liked and more than a few people I spoke to hoped that it was a situation where he was let go only to be brought back down the line.

Finlay, a third generation wrestler, had been with the company from 2001 and was considered the top Producer backstage, with Arn Anderson directly behind him in the line of command. Finlay had long been given credit for the rise and improvement of the WWE Divas division over the last decade. He worked for several years behind the scene for the company before returning as a wrestler in a full-time role as well in 2006, mostly to help introduce the Hornswoggle character and work with younger talents that needed help in the ring. WWE had quietly retired him as a wrestler last year when the decision was made to go with younger faces on the television product.

Finlay had been wrestling since 1974. He was considered one of the top heels in Europe in the 1990s and also toured New Japan Pro Wrestling. He finally made his way to the United States during the Monday Night Wars for WCW as the "Belfast Bruiser."

Sounds like similar conditions to Daniel Bryan's release, external parties forcing them to take actions that can be corrected when the situation blows over. At least I hope that is the case. I've met Finlay a few times, he is a very nice man.

Geez that sucks. Hopefully Finlay gets rehired at some point, because that's unfortunate reason for him to get axed.

Were they so upset that they wouldn't be happy unless someone was fired?

I imagine they had to be very angry with the use of their national anthem (which must be very sacred to them) being interrupted to get someone booed.

It was reported earlier that WWE planned on releasing several talents following WrestleMania XXVII. The latest word is that between 12 and 14 talents will be cut.

That's a lot of people. But WWE does big cuts almost every year after WM. I expect the list to be made up of guys that appeared on SuperStars and probably several of the former Nexus members.

Don't they usually do a massive slaughter after WM? Most of The ones from Superstars could be first.

Not sure if Chavo has done anything really lately so he could be on that list.

I expect the following to be candidates for release: Primo, Chavo, Hornswoggle, Chris Masters, Alicia Fox, Curt Hawkins, David Hart Smith, Tyson Kidd, Drew McIntyre, David Otunga, The Usos, JTG, Michael Tarver (Nexus guy), Skip Sheffeild (Nexus Guy), Trent Barrett, Yoshi, and Zack Ryder.

That's 18 people. I don't think all of them will be released, but none of them are doing anything and most of them have been given several chances with the company. They are all expendable. You could probably add a few divas like Rosa and Katylin to the list too.

Why? What makes you think he has job security?

His last name is Guerrero. Vickie and his niece are also under contract. They have a high respect for the family and I believe Chavo does work as a back stage agent too. I just think that he would have to do something to get fired and not just be released to cut the budget.

Also, if he did get released, he would probably end up in TNA with Hector and leader of Mexican America and the WWE wouldn't want that.

I don't think WWE cares who goes to TNA anymore. After big names like Hogan and Flair have shown absolutely no ratings increase for the company, then smaller names won't either. I'm sure I remember reading that explanation somewhere.

I think Chavo is only safe if he either has a backstage role (or trainer/mentor role with the younger talent) or if WWE still feels obligated to give him a job just because he's Eddie's relative. He's not doing anything on TV and hasn't in forever.

I don't think it's "he's Eddies relative". I think the Guerrero family is one of the most respected in wrestling and the WWE. But, I do think his presence backstage will keep him employed long after he stops wrestling.

Exact same thing. Chavo isn't doing anything and hasn't in forever. If he was anyone else he'd have been cut years ago. But since WWE has respect for Eddie and other relatives, he still has his job.

WWE likes to have an experienced guy in that position, and I don't think they have anyone who fits that description to replace Chavo. I'd say he is safe.

I feel for the ex-Nexus members and the current Corre members. Even Wade Barrett. Cuts of this magnitude always has a surprise release or two.

If they release 12-14 people I think the list would look something like this:

Curt Hawkins
Chris Masters
JTG
Primo
Trent Barreta
Tyler Rex
Jey Uso
Jimmy Uso
Tamina
Michael Tarver
Skip Sheffield
The Great Khali

And possibly
Gail Kim
Goldust
Matt Striker

I think Khali is safe just because he is so Rock Star in his home country, plus he's pretty over as a face in the states.

I didn't think Khali would go because i honestly thought he won the US title at WM? Was that battle royal not for the title?

It was a non-title battle royale, Sheamus is still the US Champion.

As far as Yoshi goes, no way WWE cuts him with the devastation in Japan. There are better reason to keep him, but that reason alone is enough to ensure he doesn't go anywhere

Hmm, never thought of it that way. WWE has cut pregnant Divas before, so I don't think Yoshi is completely out of bounds. But he may be safe for another year. Don't know why. He's completely worthless.

I wish Khali would get dropped but because he's so big in India, i doubt he will.

-- Regarding rumors of WWE talent cuts already being made, PWInsider.com reports that while no one has been officially let go yet, they are definitely on the horizon.

The cuts are being done to free up roster space as there are numerous young wrestlers waiting in the wings to be called up to the main roster. Between developmental, NXT and Tough Enough, WWE has over 70 men and women vying for spots on the main roster. The lone additions to the main roster so far this year have been Sin Cara, Brodus Clay and referee Scott Armstrong. The yearly turnover rate of main roster talent is approximately 30.

It is said that company officials have largely made up their minds on which wrestlers to cut ties with. The ax is expected to drop following the upcoming European tour, which concludes Sunday, April 24.

You know, given all the controversy that is coming out with Trish and John Morrison/Melina, I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Morrison and/or Melina cut this year. Melina hasn't done anything in ages and is easily replaceable. John Morrison would be the shocker release, since he's nicely over with the WWE crowd and is a complete home grown WWE Talent (he started on Tough Enough). But as popular as Morrison is, he's still just a mid card act. He has the flashy moves, but no real character, audience connection, or mic skills. So I could see Morrison getting the ax for his actions towards Trish. Of course, TNA would be giving him a call about coming to the X Division before Vince even finished the "Your" part of "your fired!", but that's a different conversation.

Jackson Andrews and Brett DiBiase (the brother of Ted DiBiase Jr.) were both removed from WWE's Florida Championship Wrestling website. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has confirmed that DiBiase was released. DiBiase, who is 23, was scheduled to be brought up to the main roster until he blew out his knee. The original plan was to form a faction involving Brett, his brother Ted and Joe Hennig (Michael McGillicutty) called The Fortuante Sons, but was dropped before he could return to action.

Thats a shame about Brett Dibiase. Talented guy for sure, but he was clearly going to run into the exact same problems his brother is running into on the main roster right now. He should find work pretty easily though, and at 23 years old I wouldn't be surprised if we saw him back in the company in a few years time. Best of luck to the guy.

Jackson Andrews will be missed by Tyson Kidd...

WWE has released ex-NXT contestants Michael Tarver and Jacob Novak, as well as FCW developmental talent Buddy Stretcher, Buck Dixon, and Ethan Levine.

Tarver, who before his release was still listed as a member of the RAW roster, was a founding member of the original Nexus faction before suffering an injury. He was then brought back and made occasional backstage appearances on television, but never reappeared in a WWE ring.

Novak was a part of this season's NXT: Redemption and was involved in a mini-feud with William Regal before being the first one eliminated this season.

"World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of WWE SmackDown Superstar Chavo Guerrero as of today, June 25, 2011. We wish Guerrero the best in all future endeavors."

Chavo Guerrero wrote the following about his WWE release on his Twitter account, @mexwarrior:

"Yes, it's true. My release is the big news I was talking about. But let's get something straight. I asked for my release. I was just tired of not being used correctly. Just cuz u can make other ppl look good, doesn't mean they should just have u lose to them. The same thing happened to Eddie. After being champ, they still had him working mid card status. Being a Guerrero, we've been taught since diapers to get the most out of ppl & matches. It's our gift, but also our curse. WWE has always used us to make other ppl look good. It all comes down to being happy. I was not happy in WWE anymore. I had a smile on my face last night though when I got my release though! :) now it's time for me to start being a Guerrero again, and start kicking ass again, be able to tell stories in the ring like u know we can. :) win or lose I will never go back to the place WWE put me in. I will never go back to being under utilized and watching ppl who suck get bigger "pushes" than me! Thank u to all of u who stuck by me & kept reminding me, I was better than that! :) stay tuned.. Big things coming!! Now I will really be able to entertain u! :) like me or hate me, 1 thing I have always tried to do is entertain u and give u fans your $ worth. Even if my hands were tied most of the time. I love u all and can't wait for the future!! So happy. :)"

Now, I know this is always said, but TNA needs this guy. He should be signed, show up at Destination X and become the leader and spokesman for Mexican America right F'ing now. They NEED him. With Hector in the company, make it happen TNA.

I think I've been a fan of Chavo maybe once to twice during his entire career. I liked when he had Peppe in WCW, and I liked it when he was being paired with Chavo Classic. He was ok as part of the Los Gurerrors, but that was mostly because Eddie carried the team. Other than that, I've never cared for Chavo. I've actually found him turn-the-station annoying quit a few times (his summer long feud with Hornswoggle and his feud with Jackie are examples).

So I'm not sad that he's gone from WWE nor do I want him in TNA. I don't think he'd add to TNA at all and sure as hell don't want to see any reason to give Mexican America even more of a push. I'd actually like this to be Chavo's Swan Song. Let him fade away and become a memory.
