Maybe then they could un-clutter the rosters, avoid scenarios such as with Vansen (where they put the spotlight on the guy, take it away, and toss him away cause he's easily replaced), and strengthen the overall product as a whole.

Does not compute. That the WWE has an unsteady spotlight isn't a fault of a large roster, it's the fault of a weak writing team.

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
Why not firing a part of the creative team? Either way, what Vince says to do in tv is nearly always his final word.

And Vince has already shown that his taste in angles isn't exactly the greatest quality (Katie Vick, J.R. surgery being mocked, Stephanie incest, etc)...

No doubt the creative team is very flawed but what I was saying is that if the roster was smaller, they would have to try harder with the people they have because they wouldn't have dozens stored away. Instead they often half try and then just give up, and move on to the next one. It's like why try? If the guy isn't an instant big hit, just drop him and look for another.

It's a fault of the creative and a bloated roster.

Bob Holly, who had been with World Wrestling Entertainment since 1995 (remember Thurmann "Sparky" Plugg, the race car driver?) was officially released today by the company.

Holly had not been seen on camera since he and Cody Rhodes lost the WWE World Tag Team belts to Ted DiBiase....and Cody Rhodes when Rhodes turned on Holly. There was a backstage incident shortly after that led WWE to sent Holly home and he hadn't returned to the ring since.

Beyond the Tag Team titles, which he held with several partners, Holly may be best remembered for feuding with his late "cousin" Crash Holly (Mike Lockwood) and for holding the WWF Hardcore title.

Hardcore Holly is gone....eh, he hasn't been on camera for months so it's hard for me to feel something.

I bet he'll still find his way onto next year's roster for Smackdown vs Raw, though. They always miss no brainers for their roster but they always make sure Holly is on there.

Wow, they were really searching deep for somebody to fire if they got rid of Holly. I don't really care though, he was an ass backstage and wasn't all that great in that Cody/DiBiase thing.

wasn't all that great in that Cody/DiBiase thing.
When was he great?

I've always disliked Holly. He was bland, boring and seems like a total ass. I often wondered why he had a job for as long as he has in the WWE. The only somewhat memorable thing Holly was ever involved in was his teaming/feuding with Crash and I think we all know who the best in that duo was.

Wonder if she is going into acting or just to TNA.

Here's the backstage story on the announced release today of the now former-WWE Diva Candice Michelle.

Candice had been undergoing therapy to heal her injured ankle and was under the impression she was returning sometime this month to in-ring competition with WWE.

Reports leaked several months ago that indicated WWE wanted to use Candice to put over some of the newer Divas while they could, and then release her soon thereafter due to her injury-prone reputation.

Candice Michelle reacted to the news that she was released on her Twitter account, simply stating: “I'm Free to Grow! :)”

I thought he was gone already.

Here is the backstage story on the announced release today of now former-WWE Superstar Sim Snuka.

Snuka's release was likely not a a Wellness Policy-related firing, but rather due to creative not having anything for him at the moment.

Snuka was last seen on TV at WrestleMania 25 earlier this year when he played the stunt camera-man at ringside in the already infamous, scary Undertaker dive over the top rope in the match.

The spot was botched, which led many to believe Undertaker was seriously hurt. While it's debatable whether Snuka was to blame for the blown spot, he did end up receiving some backstage heat over the situation.

Snuka hasn't been on WWE television since the spot and his release was announced today just before 5:00PM ET on WWE.com.

By the way, there is a WWE Release thread HERE! Figured it would be easier to keep it all in one spot.

In a way, it kind of sucks to see Candice go.

I realize she wasn't really a valuable asset to the division anymore and really is too much of an injury prone competitor to put much faith into, but I was a fan. Not a very big one anymore, but back before she went out with the broken nose, she was starting to gain some crazy steam and I was becoming a big fan of her's.

At one point back in about 2006, maybe 2007 (not sure when she first went out with the injury and then started her downfall), she was progressing rapidly and for me had basically become the shining star in WWE's women division. She could have been the "next Trish Stratus" had she continued on that path... but it all came tumbling down. When she returned from her injury, she just wasn't the same and each time she disappeared and returned, it seemed she lost more and more of what she had. She's basically the female version of Mr. Kennedy.

It's a shame but sometimes it happens.

Recently released WWE Diva Candice Michelle posted a detailed blog on the WWE Universe website. Definitely worth checking out. For now, here's the blog:

God, I hope not. She's one of the WWE people that I'd rather see move away from wrestling than move into TNA. Just don't care for her. Although, she does seem to be the female equivalent of Kennedy, what with getting injured every time she's about to truly get herself over or being on the brink of a big push. Still don't like her.

The following is a new online blog entry from former WWE Diva Candice Michelle posted at GoDaddy.com:

"Hey everyone!

In case you weren't aware, I recently parted ways with the WWE, but I'm ready to take off on exciting new adventures. All the WWE executives, divas and superstars were awesome during my five years of wrestling.

Now that I'm free from the ring, I have time to spread my wings. I've just joined the Los Angeles Youth Network as an Ambassador, and am ready to begin working with LAYN and the homeless kids living on the streets of LA. I've also recently returned from a leadership seminar in San Francisco and have never felt so alive!

Believe me, exciting times are ahead. Thank you to all the fans, fan sites, friends and family for your amazing love and support. And be sure to keep coming back to GoDaddy.com to see all that I'm up to in the days, weeks and months ahead.

Your Original Go Daddy Girl,

Candice Michelle"

Victoria, Tazz, and JBL really shouldn't be on that list since they weren't cut. Unless I'm mistaken, the individuals decided against renewing their contracts. That's different than having your contract terminated.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Tony Atlas' future with WWE may be in doubt as he is no longer managing Mark Henry due to the 15 man WWE trade which took place on Raw this past week.

It's being reported that WWE plans to push Mark Henry as a top babyface, which doesn't leave much room for Tony Atlas on Raw as he was managing Henry in ECW while he was a top heel.

Atlas originally signed a one year deal with WWE back in July of 2008, so his contract is expiring in the very near future. It is unknown at this time whether or not WWE will re-sign the ring legend, but until they decide Atlas is still being listed as a member of the ECW roster.

I told you guy that him jobbing to King the other week felt more like a burial than the start of a push!

Thank you, WWE. Ever since he had been traded to Raw, Kendrick had been so misused. The push that he had on SmackDown was starting to look good, but nothing came out of it in the end. I assume that he'll jump back to Ring of Honor sooner than later. It'd also be kind of cool if he started teaming with London again.

With London in ROH (isn't he?), then could they team up again?
