Spoiler: click to toggle It was a fairly WWE-centric and more modern era oriented list. Perhaps too much so. Thoughts? Edited by Kraul, Feb 28 2015, 02:29 AM.

The Muhammad Hassan controversy is one I still feel sour over. Not because I was offended by anything so much as I was just disappointed in WWE for taking the route they did with the allusion to terrorists assisting Hassan. I was a huge fan of Muhammad Hassan and thought the character could've be used as both an incredible villain well into the future and a great way for some social commentary. Instead, they got lazy with it. What a waste of a great opportunity. An unfortunate thing the Mass Transit incident makes me think about is how the underaged and non-trained fan was able to so easily work his way into a match. Why that bothers me isn't just that it happened but that I know it still happens today. I know of several indy wrestling companies in this region that have allowed barely or non-trained people participate in matches - not just as managers, but as actual performers. There was one promotion which has since more or less died that regularly allowed non-trained people into their battle royals. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to be as common anymore. So maybe some sanity has been restored to the semi-local promoters. Interesting fact I just realized the other day about Owen's death: the arena they held tribute to Pillman on during Raw was the same arena Owen Hart fell to what would be his death in - the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. I also realized just early today that if Vince McMahon and WWE had honored the original twenty-year contract with Bret Hart, it would be expiring next year. I can't help but wonder just how different things could have ended up, at the very least for the Hart family. That could make for a decent "what if" thread. Edited by Kraul, Feb 28 2015, 05:09 AM.

it was the kid's fault though, wasn't it? like, if paul heyman as a wrestling promoter, with no experience around teenagers, reasonably believed him to be over 18, then it's not paul's fault, yeah? i kinda think the kid's family lost that lawsuit for a very good reason. i know of lots of wrestling controversies. that seemed like a pretty decent list. fun to watch. |

Stand Back! There's a Hurricane Coming Through

I got a couple to add. 1. Sid Vicious stabbing Arn Anderson with scissors in the WCW days. 2. Shane Douglas winning the NWA World title tournament and throwing down the belt and declaring himself the ECW World champion. 3. Rita Chatterton, first female ref in WWF/E, accused Vince McMahon of raping her. 4. Steve Austin quitting Instead of losing to Brock Lesnar 5. Billy Joe Travis Getting Arrested on Live TV and Jerry Lawler Turns it into an Angle. |

spose that Austin/Lesnar one was a pretty big deal. But I'd characterise it more as Austin v McMahon. |

Not a bad list at all. I was entertained. Some of them I didn't even knew happened, some that I knew of but didn't know much about (Mass Transit). |
