3 hours is too long. Simple as that. And they cant change it anytime soon with the huge roster they have and added cruiserweights. So it is what it is.

I like that idea. But unfortunately I do see them sending them back to the WWE network after promoting them for RAW for over a month. And I don't see them even considering the idea of going to 2 hours.

I dont think wwe has any control over the show legnth, do they? If i remember correctly, it was usa network that forced the third hour. As long as usa network is happy with the ratings, then 3 hours is what we have to keep.

It's 100 percent USA's decision. They did it once ratings were declining as a way to stretch out WWE's ad time and get more ad space/revenue for their own programming to make up for it.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if SD is eventually made 3 hours because they are regularly doing 90 percent of Raw's audience so they might see that as a reason to.

I missed the segment, but apparently Kenny and Mikey from the Spirit Squad are back and have aligned themselves with Miz.

That's what annoys me about Ziggler. Before I started watching again I heard that he was starting to play off Michaels a bit and saw it almost instantly with his tights, selling, and the super kick, but I don't know at this point if it's a homage or a flat-out ripoff because I don't feel like it's acknowledged that much. At the least if they wanted to go that route they could have Michaels do something with him that doesn't involve Spirit Squad vs. DX (holy fuck that was a decade ago already?! That table spot when SS threw Michaels like 10 feet in the air and through a table was incredible...and what happened to Dykstra?), but I doubt that ever happens.
They were off TV for a decade yet returned a week after I posted that. WWE really didn't take long to answer my question did they?

Smackdown flowed well this week.

Orton and Bray- I have pretty much the same thought on this as last week. I'm glad these two are getting more time to build this main event caliber match. The storyline isn't something that really interests me but I'm fully aware their is a much younger audience then me so I'm fine with it.

Women's match- I've decided not to bash the women as much anymore. I've come to the conclusion that you guys are content with forgiving the sloppiness of the women wrestlers and pretending that they are as good as the men. So whatever. Sloppiness or no sloppiness this match wasn't very good. I think this match really showed that Becky Lynch is easily best women's wrestler on Smackdown other than Natalya. Although her constant screaming is annoying. Why is she always yelling "Fire!" LOL?

Tag Match- Another bad match. The wrestling wasn't very good this week. I really think the camera angles smackdown uses make the matches look bad. That said, all the booking made sense this week. Quickly throwing in a preshow match build with Hype Bros and The Ascension.

Corbin v Swagger- Corbin gets alot of heat on the Internet. I believe he'll be world champion one day. Just another thing I'll get to brag about when it happens. And it will. Again this was booked well.

Miz-Dolph- Good, well booked segment. Just bitter sweet for me because I'm a huge Dolph Zigger fan and I think he gets better and better. Kindof a shame.

Main Event- Once again, booked well. All 3 guys were strong on the mic. All 3 are talented enough that the No Mercy match should be very good.

I thought both shows were fairly strong this week, but Raw had a clear edge in quality.

once you get past Usos, Slater/Rhyno, and American Alpha, SD has a really weak tag division. i have been saying this all along. vaudevillains, hype bros, and ascension all suck

Oh Yeah! Uso v Alpha match. Again, a well booked segment to hype the tag title match for No Mercy.

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
Seems like Usos will win the titles at No Mercy, unless WWE wants to give SD's tv viewership an extra bump (if possible) by having the tag team titles change on live television. But the titles revolving around Usos and Alphas is inevitable.

Why is American Alpha being buried every week? They went from being one of the hottest acts in NXT to losing to the Usos nonstop. :(

ELLSWORTHHHHH!!!! YES!!!!

This is such a great show. Miz and Ziggler's segment was great. The match was entertaining and lead to more story. The women's match didn't matter but didn't waste too much time. AJ was great on the mic. Ambrose is hilarious without actually saying a word on the mic. ELLSWORTH. A jobber math that plays into the main event scene. The PIP commercials and Ambrose playing around with AJ. An already-announced main event. Even Otunga has been good for maybe the first time ever.

The worst part is that there's only 45 minutes of show left.

THE BOYHOOD DREAM HAS COME TRUE!!!!!!!!

James Ellsworth will be getting a shot at the WWE World Championship.

SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan announced on Tuesday night's edition of Talking Smack that Ellsworth would challenge AJ Styles for his title on next week's edition of SmackDown.

Ellsworth made his return to WWE television on Tuesday night, and was victorious in a non-title match against Styles. Dean Ambrose, the special guest referee for the match, helped Ellsworth get the win by favoring him all match and hitting Dirty Deeds on Styles to set up the finish.

There was a scary moment during the match when Ellsworth tucked his head on a Styles Clash, but he appeared to avoid injury.

It seems likely that the match was booked to further the ongoing feud between Styles and Ambrose.

The appearance was the third time that Ellsworth has appeared on WWE TV this year. Ellsworth, an independent wrestler previously known as Jimmy Dream, received significant attention after he was utilized in a squash against Braun Strowman on Raw in July. He later appeared on SmackDown before returning to the show on Tuesday night.

Next week's show will also see Alexa Bliss face Naomi, and Baron Corbin will take on Jack Swagger.
Gotta love Ellsworth. His entire run thus far has reminded me quite a bit of Colin Delaney's from a few years back.

Styles: "Okay, James, whatever you do...DON'T tuck your chin during the Styles Clash."

Ellsworth: "Is that supposed to be funny?"

Styles: "..."

The more and more I think about Ranallo's "OH MY GOD HE KILLED KENNY!" call, the more and more funny it gets. I can just imagine Vince in the headset like "DAMMIT this is a PG show you can't talk about god and killing in the same sentence!" without understanding at all what the quote was even about.

Yeah, dude botched it and almost killed his own career. Thankfully AJ noticed at the last second. Makes me think that AJ is always 110% aware just in case someone tucks their chin in. Amazing professionalism by AJ.

Okay so Smackdown was really good this week. Slightly beating out RAW which was also very good.

Opening- I agree with Whosey on the fans and their annoying you deserve it and this is awesome chants. Reminds me of when TNA had that all the time an it annoyed the fuck out of me. HOWEVER Id rather them chant those things instead of them shitting on matches and trying to highjack the show. Once again Dolph was great this week. I liked The Miz and Maryse dressing in all black to mourn the death of the IC Title. Great heel move, even though the IC Title probably means even more now. The handicap was good, it was as good as it could have possinly been.

Womens match. Wasn't a good match or anything but it moved the feuds along nicely so cant complain.

Uso v Alpha Male- I forget who said it earlier in this thread but someone said something really foolish about The Usos beating the Alpha Males every week. So wrong. The Alpha Males have beaten The Usos several times. I really liked the finish of this match.

Styles match- Pretty cool storyline. Dean Ambrose was great. They gotta do things like this more often.

Main event- Another good segment. Match was pretty good and the ending of the match was really cool.

Really good Smackdown.

I was thinking about whether SD would be as good or better if it became 3 hours, but I realized how perfect 2 hours is considering Talking Smack comes on after. Nothing feels rushed even though they have less time and a card with others that aren't even involved each week. The only reason I brought that up is because I kinda realized after the tag match that I was really sad there was time for only two more segments because I was enjoying the shit out of it, something I don't ever feel while watching Raw.

Based on what I've seen it kinda looks like Becky is being somewhat active again so that's a good sign. Maybe she had an appendix problem or something. I can't wait for her to be back and see her and Alexa.

I'm hoping the Ellsworth stuff kinda dies after next week though. Like I said, I thought the segment was awesome, because it gave Ambrose a way to be himself and be overly funny (which he isn't given much time to do anymore), but if they do anything with Ellsworth after next week it would be overboard. WWE found something and capitalized on it, I just hope they don't expose it more than it should. I fully expect AJ to kill him in the ring and maybe Cena comes out for the save or something but AJ will get his revenge out on Ellsworth.

I also love Daniel Bryan's character, especially on Talking Smack. I think TS is a way to keep Bryan off TV except in a few short segments to keep the show going, yet give him the exposure people like me want to see of him. Also the way Bryan has been coming off is almost completely like an asshole to the heels, and the heels are able to play off of that extremely well (Styles, Miz, and Alexa have have had a direct benefit from this). WWE hasn't had that in a really long time, not since Austin was co-GM. Long was a face, but generally he played it down the line. Bryan is being biased for the sake of being biased which pisses off the heels more.

Who the hell knows. They didn't write him off TV so I'm not even sure. But even if so, then it shows how good the booking is that you can have a great show without WWE's most popular guy.

AJ is on another planet right now, talent-wise. There's no other way to describe it.

He's also the perfect heel. He lets fans cheer for him and does it by making them (so I guess us) feel bad for being peasants at his feet.

I'll be honest, I wasn't too thrilled with Rhyno coming back to the WWE. I never really cared for him and having another old veteran make a return wasn't appealing to me at all. I cringed at the thought of Rhyno being Slater's tag team partner...

But wow, was I wrong. They have such amazing chemistry together, Rhyno has been killing it too. Sure, Heath is the star of the duo, the talker etc, but got damn, these two are great together.

It'll be funny though, in a few years when we're looking at the history of the tag titles, we'll see Beauty and the ManBeast as the champs and probably think..."The fuck? Such an odd tag team, why was that a thing?"...I do that all the time, lol.
