See, that's what happens when I get a job. I don't watch the shows live, have nothing to bitch about because I watch nothing but recaps that cut out all the negative things, and am satisfied.

The best part though is I was reading the recap of the show last night during my break when I suddenly realize that the dude sitting right across from me was watching clips from the show. He hadn't yet seen the Ellsworth/Jericho thing and so I was able to share that and how hilarious I thought it was. We then both agreed that in terms of how long they've been utterly entertaining, Jericho might be the most charismatic wrestler ever.

Good times.
There were some bad moments last night. Like the Sasha and Charlotte locker room bicker. It was absolutely awful.

Chris Jericho was and has been the best part of any wrestling show every week for a few months now. Scarf of Jericho try it on maaaaaan. Great. Soccer mom hair cut....YOU JUST MADE THE LIST!!!! Great

And as great as AJ is, it was apparent last night why I rank the likes of Seth and Owens ahead of him. His mic skills. He went toe to toe on the mic with Owens and Owens murdered him.

I guess that adds to it since I was only watching parts I heard positive (or cringeworthy) stuff about.

I just saw a clip from Talking Raw when it aired after Hell in a Cell and Owens and Jericho were on it. They were AMAZING. It was hilarious. They both only showed respect for Booker T for no reason, kept making fun of Renee, put Lita on the list for because she was being nice and gave up her seat for Jericho so she didn't end up on the list, and kept defending that it didn't matter that Jericho got involved in the match and that anyone who thought otherwise should be ashamed...and he eventually told Booker "you should know. You're not a saint" and Booker had to agree because he knew he was right. They are awesome together.

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
In this particular case, better do it than to just let Goldberg go away forever and taking away the Lesnar victory.

I expect Brock to cost Goldberg the Rumble, though. And that would lead to a third match for WM.

As for this Raw, I only saw the 3rd hour. Really liked the Owens vs Rollins match.

I don't want Goldberg to go away forever because I think his larger-than-life persona is something wrestling is missing a lot of, but he's doing almost literally the same thing Rock did...Rock came back and out of nowhere announced that he would be in a WWE title match for no reason other than he was The Rock. So now Goldberg, just because he's Goldberg, is in the Royal Rumble and will more than likely be in a main event-level tier storyline because of who he is and it'll be based around him wanting to be champion.

I'm not saying this in a way where I think it's bad for him to be in the spotlight, but they should be away from the championships. Let the weekly guys handle the titles and feuds and let the part-timers squabble over other stuff. They don't need the championship. Goldberg doesn't need a title to be great.

I hate how the people on the Internet bitch and moan about big guys taking main event spots when they come back just because of who they are. I've said it before and I'll say it again, they are who they are for a reason. They earned it. They are a big deal. Seeing them wrestle feels like a big deal. I wasn't a fan of The Rock winning the title but do like when he returns, he's easily better than anyone else currently there. Triple H and Brock Lesnars title reigns however were perfect. Made title matches feel like a bigger deal then they do now. People like to complain for the sake of complaining. And complaining about all time greats returning and getting main event spots is ridiculous. Shows are 3 and 4 hours nowadays. There's room for everyone for fuck sakes.

RAW was spectacular this week. Even the slow down matches and segments that are usually bad were good this week. Like The Clubs match, not bad. Cruiserweight triple threat, although sloppy it was good. Women's tag, although sloppy was good. Tag Title Match was really good although I'm not a fan of New Day constantly cheating to win and always losing non title matches. Goldberg announcing he is in the Rumble was good.

Now for the great stuff on RAW. The Highlight reel. I know each week I praise Chris Jericho and he was great again. But how about Kevin Owens. The Universal Champion deserves his fair share of credit too. He was hilarious. And these two guys have the crowd right where they want them right now. At this point I think they could even make this a WrestleMania match.

And the main event was one of the best TV matches of the year. I think Owens and Rollins are the two best wrestlers in the world not named Chris Jericho.

It isn't complaining for the sake of complaining when this is the exact same opinion and argument I've had for awhile now. Rock vs. Cena didn't need the belt at the time and honestly aside from Rock beating Punk not many people even remember Rock was champion going into their WM 29 match because there was no reason for it to happen that way. Lesnar's reign was good and I liked it but even then you can only go so far with it when your champion doesn't show up for weeks on end. I would have liked it better if the US championship was actually held in higher esteem after Cena dropped it. But they had the right idea. Triple H put over Reigns but that was only done because they thought Triple H would have gotten more heat than he did and WWE underplayed how much people hate Roman...again. So again, him having the title was useless. I don't think Undertaker/Styles happens at WM because it really should be Styles/Cena, but why would Undertaker be fighting for a championship now? Why would he personally, as a character, want it?

I just don't like part-time people getting runs, simple as that. Because they can lose and just leave and not have to face the repercussions of losing the next day. Most of them are only around as long as their reign, so I don't feel like there's any real incentive for them to hold it because it's obvious their characters don't want to stay on top or else they would stay after and challenge for a rematch. So why should I care if Rock wins because he'll just go right back to Hollywood if he loses. Why should I care if Lesnar loses because he'll go back to his farm. Why should I care if Undertaker loses because he'll just disappear until next WWM. Why should I care if Goldberg wins then loses because this is all just a nostalgia trip anyway and he'll be gone soon enough.

Every other sport has minimums...you need a certain amount of plate appearances for the batting title numbers to count. In NASCAR, if you run full-time in one series you aren't allowed to earn points in any other division. You aren't allowed to be part time and contend no matter who you are. So I don't think wrestling should be any different.

Jericho has been in

Owens and Jericho no more? :(

Roman vs Owens for Roadblock. I guess RR wins KO's title and vacates the US title. OTOH, we'll get Rollins vs Jericho.

I know New Day will break Demolition's record, but I could live with them losing the belts at WM if they turn heel at Roadblock. The problem is, who should beat New Day for the belts? Seems like Shaysaro will do it sooner.

Anyone noticed Foley's teeth falling off while he was yelling at Sami?

Sasha wins the belt again. Nia Jax is next?

I just realized I never even finished my part-timers rant because Jericho was going to be involved as an example of the opposite, BUT it has a lot to do with last night, so...

Jericho came back not looking for any distinction other than his personality. Yet because he's so strong at everything he does, and made Owens look better, gave Ambrose his most worthy feud he's gotten (even more than AJ which in reality has exposed his weaknesses a lot), was AJ's first major WWE feud, got both a piece of paper, a scarf, a jacket, AND a list over, he can now be in the title hunt and has a legitimate reason as to why he wants the championship. Owens held onto the belt arguably because Jericho helped him. Owens can say he didn't and that he would be where he is no matter what, but Jericho would say it's all because of him, so it should be his and he deserves it. Bam. Perfect. That's a REASON why, even if Jericho might eventually leave again, why he should be in the title hunt and possibly get another run. He deserves it. He wasn't "I'm Chris Jericho so I deserve a title shot," he was "I'm Chris Jericho the best motherfucker ever so I'll hang out around long enough until it organically happens."

That's part-timing done right. Not two part-timers in a storyline about how both are going to enter the Royal Rumble and destroy one another but both also want the title just because WWE feels like their feud needs the title to make it more important...which it doesn't.

Okay but OCD rant out of the way, I can't believe they did the Sasha/Charlotte switch again, but it isn't even surprising anymore. Is this now the point where they can maybe probably hopefully move on to another main event feud, or at the Royal Rumble will there be a triple grudge OMG one more time for the last time seriously win the title and I'm done with you lumberjack match where the loser will inevitably get themselves in the title match at WM anyway?

I was a bit disappointed the title flipped hands again but hopefully it's the start of something new. Maybe Sasha/Nia and Charlotte/Bayley have feuds?

And I'd be 100% okay with Jericho getting a Universal title run...even if it is short lived.

I'd like to see the titles on Enzo and Cass more than Shaysaro. I think Cesaro should be in either the US or Universal title run.

I did not notice his teeth falling out, I'll have to re-watch.

Absolutely. Trish and Charlotte can feud, and it can be built as a huge thing, but any scenario where Trish is either contending or winning the title, absolutely not.

Also, hypothetically, Charlotte and Sasha are seen as even, so Sasha going into WM as champ and having her own feud over someone like Bayley or Emma or someone would give two high-profile women's feuds as opposed to one huge match for the belt and some random women's match that won't even be half as important.

I would enjoy the hell out of that match (though I don't see it happening), but there's no reason to add a championship to it. And to play Devil's Advocate I'm trying to think of any situations where adding a championship to a part-timer actually ended up working well or a case where it could be cool to see it, but I can't.

Okay okay, MAYBE Shawn Michaels. But I think the only reason it doesn't count is because I think most fans still thought he was part-time, when in reality at the point of Survivor Series everyone in WWE knew he was going to be working closer to a normal schedule. Cause I think when he did the SummerSlam match in 2002 it was done as a one-off where he wasn't going to come back, but was pressured into and finally came back for real. The title switch was random as hell, though.

Trish Stratus is regarded by many as the greatest women's wrestler ever. So here coming back and wanting to be the champion during the best Era in women's wrestling makes total sense to me. And her vs Charlotte is like a dream match. But yeah she's 40 and has a family, probably won't happen.

RAW was good again this week and has slowly began to edge out Smackdown each week in quality.

The opening match was pretty good. Was glad The New Day retained the titles. I missed the bit where they sprayed Steph with the beverage during the celebration, so I was a bit confused about Owens talking to a drenched Steph.

I didn't pay too much attention to Braun and Curtis. Funny how Mick Foley says he doesn't want to put Sami in a match with Braun but fuck these jobbers though!

I thought the bit where Jack Gallaher (or whatever) came out and was like "I'm going to interfere in this match", him announcing that was pretty funny. Are they trying to build storylines in the Cruiserweight division that isn't around the title? Whaaa? Eh..let's see how that goes.

TJ Perkins, first ever Cruiserweight champion. TJ Perkins, fucking idiot who fell for The Brian Kendrick's fake knee injury. TJ Perkins, cruiserweight jobber.

Why is Bayley "feuding" with Alicia Fox over some jobber Cruiserweight? Is this necessary? "I'm going to beat you this time !" yells Fox...everyone else, yeah okay.

Squash match for Sami Zayn, get him hyped for Braun on Sunday. The bit between him and Foley...I thought it was funny how they're dragging Eva Marie in the mud like that, especially because I couldn't stand her on Smackdown Live!...I got a chuckle out of that trade bit but do we have to build this match up so Sami can lose?

I liked the second triple threat match, would have been great to see the swerve of the year and have The New Day lose, but I'm glad they won.

I'm sad that JeriKO is somewhat coming to an end (or so it appears) but all good things must come to an end, no matter how great it is.

I had to rewatch the main event though as I fell asleep with my boys sleeping on me...I was a bit bummed but still enjoyed the match, even though I knew who won.

FINALLY. Something to work with in the way of discussion here on Six Star Wrestling.

I have to agree. I was happy the New Day got the record. As annoying as they can be, they are better than Demolition. Demolition sucked. And to have them lose one day before the record, as funny and shocking as it would have been, it would have been a bit of a waste of year and a half title reign.

Do idiots still hate Sheamus and Cesaro? There great. I hope they win the titles sooner rather than later.

Yeah the Braun, Sami thing, kind of a silly storyline. But I understand why they would want to have some sort of story going into Brauns PPV matches. He needs to fight a bigger name, not a jobber. That is Sami Zaynn. And Sami is the type of character that can lose and still move forward. Braun can win, and keep building this monster character that I have surprisingly become a fan of.

Jack Gallagher is so awesome. His debut two weeks ago, I was like yup. This will work. And him claiming his intention to interfear and calling Davairi a scoundrel was the best.

I haven't looked, but I bet you Perkins beat Swann on 205. The way they book the cruiserweights is that anyone can win, in any match. The champions lose all the time and no one goes on big winning streaks. Am I right? Did Perkins win? Fuck it, now I gotta look. Fucking knew it.

I skip the Bayley stuff now. Ive been proven right in my assessment of her and no longer need to watch her boring matches.

I wouldn't give up on Team Kevin and Chris just yet. I predict them to help eachother at RoadBlock and get back together. Of course itll only be for them to fallout again going into WrestleMania, but still. Itll be great this Sunday. If I'm wrong.....pfft unlikely.

I think the friendship between Jericho and KO will be done soon. I'd expect KO to maul him to gain heat. I'd like to see a friendly split, but that rarely happens in wrestling, unless I'm mistaken (injuries don't count).
