Okay, so, H. Jon Benjamin—the guy who voices Bob on Bob’s Burgers (and Sterling Archer on Archer)—is releasing a surprise jazz album, Well, I Should Have…, this coming Friday, November 27, on Sub Pop. (Pre-orders are on sale now.)

In a mini-documentary of sorts, titled Jon Benjamin: Jazz Daredevil, the comedian virtuoso reveals the method behind his madness. “I don’t play piano at all and I’m not a huge fan of jazz, never was. That’s why I thought it would be funny to make a jazz album.”

Benjamin isn’t the only star featured on the LP, as Aziz Ansari and Bob's Burgers co-star Kristen Schaal make appearances alongside various professional jazz musicians.

Brilliant.

The vinyl sold out before I got a chance to buy a copy. Kind of shocked the album is doing so well. Benjamin's recent interview on NPR probably helped with sales a lot. I'm hoping Sub Pop does a repress.
