As noted, John Cena announced on Twitter this evening that he will be undergoing shoulder surgery tomorrow in Birmingham, Alabama. PWInsider reports that Cena is suffering from a torn rotator cuff and is expected to miss WWE's WrestleMania 32.

At one point, Cena had been scheduled to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32. This would be the first WrestleMania since Wrestlemania 19 without Cena wrestling.

As noted, his last match came on December 30th at a WWE live event against United States Champion Alberto Del Rio. He did not appear on RAW but did appear on SmackDown but did not wrestle.

Gonna actually change this to the General Injury topic because MY GOD, there have been so many sidelines as of late, and the list keeps on growing.

Sasha Banks is reportedly out of action with an undisclosed injury. Her last match came on the December 28th WWE RAW, a win over Becky Lynch.

Really am bummed out by these last two. Cena just returned from hiatus and Sasha's probably the best in-ring skilled diva of the division.

i wonder if this string of accidents has more to do with people getting hurt more or if (in this law suit happy, smj world we live in) less people are working through injuries that wwe would normally expect them to so we just notice more people being hurt?

sucks about sasha. not as much for wwe since they barely use her, but sucks for me as a fan of hers

Sasha is claiming that she isn't injured on her Tumblr. She's apparently still booked to work a pair of house shows over the weekend.

Sin Cara was injured last week during his match against Big E.

Also, there has been rumors about Paige being injured too. But that might not be true.

If Sin Cara being injured means that Kalisto is in line for a singles run, I'm all for the Lucha Dragons being gone for a bit. Kalisto had a real solid non-title match with Del Rio on SmackDown this week.

Will kalisto be called the Lucha Dragon when he goes solo?

And still, will no one care?

No one cares about Kalisto? If WWE starts building him up to be the next Rey Mysterio, I would think that he has a very good chance of getting over. Personally, I'm a big fan of his. He's a natural underdog, has a cool mask, and has an explosive moveset.

I think Kalisto can get over easily with his moveset alone. He'll need to work on the mic skills, but that wasn't something that stopped WWE from pushing Rey Mysterio at the time. He won't be WWE World Heavyweight Champion any time soon, but I think he could take away the US belt from Del Rio without much problems.

i agree with kame and my85. kalisto has the potential to be the mexican star they have always wanted del rio to be. i dont think he will ever be world champion, but he would be one of their most popular stars if they pushed him even half as well as they pushed rey

Yeah Purps, his mask is pretty damn sweet.

As a casual wrestling fan, I don't know much about Kalisto but I looked him up and can confirm that his mask is very cool. I've always liked high flying wrestlers like him, so I'll have to check out some of his matches soon. You guys should recommend some good matches.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE star Rusev tweaked his knee at Saturday night’s WWE live event from Bossier City, Louisiana.

The injury does not appear serious and Rusev should be back in action before the Royal Rumble, so it’s possible he could be an entrant in the match should there be enough spots available.

Hideo Itami has had complications after should surgery and apparently he is nowhere close to being able to return to the ring, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Itami has been out of action since April 30th, 2015.

Also, Nikki Bella underwent successful neck surgery yesterday.

Source: PWInsider

As if the injury bug hasn't ravaged the WWE roster enough, PWInsider is reporting that former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio is now dealing with an injury in his lower back.

Del Rio has not wrestled since the Royal Rumble match, and reportedly wasn't backstage at this week's Smackdown. Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Seth Rollins, Cesaro, Sting, Sheamus and Wade Barrett are all sidelined with injuries, with Paige, Natalya and Sasha Banks all recently returning.

It sounds like WWE NXT Champion Finn Balor may have suffered a leg or ankle injury at last night's NXT live event in Nashville, Tennessee.

Balor was seen leaving the venue on crutches and with his leg wrapped. Several fans saw him being loaded into a car after the show ended, and it was said that he could not move that well on his own.

Balor defeated Samoa Joe in the main event of last night's show. He's scheduled to work tonight's show in Indianapolis and we will keep you updated on his status.

As noted, Neville suffered a broken ankle and broken shinbone on a baseball slide during Monday's WWE RAW match against Chris Jericho.

Neville underwent more tests in Orlando at the WWE Performance Center on Monday and WWE's Dr. Chris Amann reports that he will not need surgery. Neville is expected back in 2-3 months. Amann told WWE's website:

"Neville had some repeat testing done in Orlando today which included X-Rays and a cat scan of his ankle. Upon further review, it has been determined that surgical repair of the ankle would not be necessary. Instead, he will be treated nonoperatively with a cast and crutches. The estimated return for this type of fracture is usually 2 to 3 months."
Neville really dodged a bullet by only having to be out of action for two to three months.

Several people sent in word that Luke Harper possibly suffered an injury during a RAW dark match. According to reports, Harper took an awkward bump and ended up crawling out the ring. After being checked out, he was helped to the back by the Wyatt family since he could not walk. One person said they saw Harper being taken into an ambulance after the show ended.

Okay, it's all beginning to make sense to me. All these injuries as of late is God's revenge for the shitty Backlash angle 10 years ago, isn't it?

If God really wanted revenge, he'd be hunting Roman Reigns... again.

There was no awkward bump involved. Harper's leg buckled out underneath him as he was attacking Reigns in the corner. Pro Wrestling Sheet posted a video. Does not look good, unfortunately.
