Anyone check out the Oscars last night? Mad Max: Fury Road won like 6 or 7 Oscars. Great movie. Seen it in theaters and was blown away.

Leonardo DiCaprio finally won for best actor. Alot of people saying he didn't deserve it and he only got it cuz he's never got one. Well that's bullshit. The Revenant was an amazing movie. I'm large part to his and Tom Hardys great performances. Not only did DiCaprio deserve is, but Tom Hardy deserved to win over that old guy from the average Bridge of Spies movie.

Spotlight won for best picture. I'm gonna check it out tonight. All the scenes I've seen of it give me goosebumps so I'll probably love it.

I also want to check out the big short. It won some Oscar's last night and I've yet to see it.

DiCaprio did not deserve it over Fassbender and Cranston. People decided Leo deserved it before the movie was even released. Revenant was about forty minutes too long, and way too full of itself. So happy it did not win best picture.

Are you kidding!? The Revenant was awesome. My favourite part was when his severed head could only communicate via a dildo to the throat.

It's the opposite actually. People like you decided he didn't deserve it beforehand. The Revenant was amazing. And all the greatest movies of all time are a little too long.

I watched Spotlight last night and it was really really good. But The Revenant was much better. In my opinion.

lol. I didn't decide anything before watching it. I love Leo and I love Iñárritu. The cinematography was beautiful, and the first hour and a half is phenomenal. Leo was very good (Hardy was better), but he just wasn't the cream of the crop. I saw over 100 releases last year. I obviously do not have authority to state any opinion as fact, but I'm guessing I have more to reference when formulating an opinion on performances last year than you do.

CRSHFBRCTN, you saw over 100 movies that came out last year? I didn't even know that many films were released in 2015. :shifty:

Anyway, I definitely think DiCaprio deserved to win the Oscar for Best Actor. He was definitely one of the highlights of The Revenant. Michael Fassbender was excellent in his role as Steve Jobs, but DiCaprio played a much more dynamic character. I have no interest in watching Trumbo, but I'm sure Cranston was great in it.

Sylvester Stallone got snubbed of the award for Best Supporting Actor. I will go out on record and say that Creed displayed what was probably his finest acting performance.

Trumbo was a hot mess, but Cranston was phenomenal. Idris Elba is up there for best lead performance as well.

Cranston is phenomenal in anything he does. Elba for Beasts of No Nation?

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
Elba's character is a supporting type in Beasts Of No Nation. Actually, Elba should have won Best Supporting Actor over Rylance and Stallone. Rylance winning was a real shocker since nearly everyone expected Stallone to win. I can live with that happpening.

Also, really glad Spotlight beat Revenant. As far as Leo goes, he's only better than Eddie Redmayne from the nominated folks (haven't seen Trumbo yet). That should have been Damon or Fassbender's award to win. I would have replaced Leo and Eddie with either Abraham Attah (BONN), Shameik Moore (Dope), Jacob Tremblay (Room) or even Michaell B. Jordan (Creed).

Hell, even when Leo was nominated for Wolf Of Wall Street, I still had Joaquin Phoenix (Her) and Mads Mikkelsen (The Hunt) way ahead of him for Best Actor.

Also, Miller or McCarthy should have won instead of Iñárritu.

My tally for 2015 films: 98.
