Is Nakamura still the favorite to win the Rumble? If so, I'm not entirely sure how people are coming to that conclusion. As enticing as a Styles versus Nakamura match at Mania might be, I feel like a Raw wrestler is going to win this year. What're the odds that Braun enters himself in the Rumble match after failing to capture the Universal Title from Lesnar earlier on in the show?

I still don't how I feel about two royal rumbles on one night, I've always enjoyed the Royal Rumble, maybe I'm just worried that having two in one night will some what dilute the event a little

Since Elimination Chamber is a Raw PPV, then I can see the Royal Rumble winner being from Smackdown. In terms of caliber matches, AJ could carry a broom to a 3.5 star match. Cena/AJ might be the match. Safe, lock to draw, compelling story with Cena attempting to break the record.

Rey Mysterio just returned in the Rumble. He looks to be in absolutely incredible shape.

2012 ROYAL RUMBLE WINNER MOTHERFUCKERS!!!
I'm gonna start at the pre-show with this one.

Kalisto/Metalik/Dorado v TJP/GJG/Gulak wasn't a bad way to start the show. I felt a bit bad due to the fact that the arena was like, a quarter full. These cruiserweights have a lot of talent that isn't fully being utilized. I knew that Kalisto's team was going to get the win but it was a nice way to start the show. I enjoyed the match.

The Revival v The Club was good. A much needed win for the Revival after looking silly last Monday. I thought they were officially going to bury them but it was good to see them pick up a win. Hopefully they will start a feud with the Club or some other tag team that gets them over. The Club are at a point where a loss doesn't affect them nearly as bad as it would the Revival. Solid match.

Roode v Mojo was meh...mainly because Mojo is trash. I'm still bitter that they're pushing Mojo more than Ryder. He can't wrestle at all. Glad Roode made short work of him for the win. Not a good way to kick off the Glorious US Challenge.

AJ v Owens/Zayn was good. These three can make poo shine really bright. A predictable ending though that wasn't sneaky or clever. I noticed it right when it happened, but my wife, who isn't as die hard as I am, called it out right away saying that Kevin wasn't the legal man. What gets me though...is when this happened during the Usos v Shelton/Chad match back on Smackdown Live a few weeks back, the Usos argued the call and another ref came out to confirm what had really happened and the match was restarted. Why didn't this happen here? Especially for the freaking WWE Championship match. I get it, it's to further the storyline, I know. But they need to be consistent with crap like that. Still though, I enjoyed the match.

The Usos beating Gable/Benjamin 2-0 was a shock to be honest. I'm glad it happened because I actually don't really like the team of Ben/Gab at all. Turn Gable heel or something. Hopefully though, they're setting up a Usos/Bludgeon Brothers feud with Harper/Rowan going over. I think that's the only tag team right now I'd be okay with ending the Usos title run. The New Day doesn't need another title run right now and it would help build another great tag team.

The men's Royal Rumble was great. I loved it. First of all, we have to give a lot of damn credit to Roman Reigns. Seriously, a lot of us hate on the guy but he's always willing to be the massive troll to the WWE Universe. He's always willing to get that bad heat and get sh** on just to put someone else over. He does....what's best for business. That's two years in a row where he was the last one to overly put over the rumble winner. Having Finn be number 2, I knew instantly he was gonna be in the final 4. Poor Heath Slater, love that guy. It was great have Almas enter and last for 28 minutes, not bad at all. Made sense as to why Sheamus only lasted 2 seconds, with his whole neck injury. Seeing the Hurricane make an appearance was fun, wish he would have chokeslammed someone. Rey was awesome, unexpected and he still has it. I wouldn't be surprised if he was announced as 205 Live's new GM. I think with Dolph...they should have done more with him obviously. If they wanted to troll...have Daniel Bryan's music hit and then record scratch...Dolph walks out. Give him some damn heat, don't do him like that. The final 4 was awesome because we legit didn't know who was going to go over. Would it be Finn for his much deserved rematch for the Universal title? Would it be Super Cena so he can break Flair's record? Would it be Roman to easily set up Roman v Brock at Mania? NO! It was freaking Shinsuke! Who eliminated both Cena and Roman. I thought Cena tossing out Finn was perfect, create some heat against him. Hopefully, this helps Finn more than hurts him. Great rumble, I enjoyed it. AJ has pushed so hard for him and Shinsuke at Mania to Vince. He practically begged Vince to even do the stare down at MITB last year. This is a product of AJ assuring Vince that what the fans want at Mania, is AJ v Nakamura for the WWE title at WM. I'm glad to see Vince has so much respect for AJ Styles, the former Mr. TNA.

The Bar v Rollins/Jordan...I kind of missed most of this match due to me cleaning up my kids after dinner. But seeing Jordan just sitting on the steps while Rollins got picked apart and demolished...kind of cool. It saves Jordan from having to do much due to his injury, it furthers the storyline between him and Rollins (looks like they'll be feuding) and it gives yet another title reign to the Bar...even though it might be short lived due to the injury of Sheamus. Maybe the Revival can be next in line? Hopefully!

I'm gonna have to go back and watch Brock v Braun v Kane. It looked like it was every where but it was during this time that I was putting my kids to bed and they're a damn handful. But I came back to see crap everywhere from the steps, a broken tables and chair shots...I think I actually got to see the last like, minute or two when Brock finally came in and finished off Kane. We all knew it was going to be Kane to take the pinfall. He was always going to be the scapegoat for this match to save Braun. Thankfully it was a short match and I'll be able to watch it when I get home from work.

And finally, the main event. Wow, this rumble did not disappoint at all. My wife and I were both shocked and excited when we found out that the men's rumble was first. I even thought that the Universal title match was going to be the last match but thankfully, it was not! Everything about it was great. Sasha being the ironwoman in the match lasting just shy of 55 minutes. Becky Lynch lasted the second longest at almost 31 minutes...so that shows you the gap between the longest and second longest. Kudos to Sasha. She definitely showed heel intentions in the rumble which was fantastic. Hopefully we get the heel turn we all want. Was very hyped to see Lita enter in the rumble but was also very very bummed that she didn't get her stare down with Trish. That would have been amazing, but I'll definitely settle for Trish/Mickie. Lita was close to botching her moonsault. After that, I was hoping she wouldn't last much longer despite me being a huge fan of hers. Seeing Kairi deliver two Insane Elbows was awesome. Lots of guts doing that in a rumble. Seeing Torrie Wilson back was fun. I would have preferred to see Mighty Molly come out since we saw The Hurricane, but I still geeked out when she came out. Beth Phoenix was absolutely great. Jacqueline was awesome. I was naming all the women back during the old days that could actually wrestle right as the rumble was going, to help my wife understand (there were divas and there were wrestlers) and it was great seeing almost everyone I listed as a wrestle make an appearance. Naomi's spot was fun. Man, Vickie G was so damn annoying...I loved it.Michelle McCool with the surprise of most eliminations of 5 women. I never got to see her wrestle but it was great seeing how she won her battle with skin cancer though! She looked great! Ember Moon was amazing, really selling her arm injury from TakeOver and still kicking @$$. Her and Asuka were awesome, I loved it. Sasha directing the Bellas at the end was awesome, a classic heel move, only to have them turn on her. Having it come down to Nikki and Asuka though...very obvious Asuka was going to win...even from the start. Still, an incredible match, it deserved the main event slot no doubt about it. Best match of the night.

As for that stupid ending with Ronda? Come on...it was pointless, it sucked, it wasn't needed. It totally took away from Asuka's moment. It was her damn moment, she's the FIRST EVER WINNER OF THE WOMEN'S ROYAL RUMBLE!! And they do her dirty like that? Ronda killed what would have been a perfect ending. I would have loved it so much more to see Ronda debut tonight on Raw to ruin Asuka's moment then. I know Vince had an image in his mind of how he wanted the show to end and thought it sounded great, but it fell very flat on it's face. Bad bad timing for Ronda to debut, but it is what it is. I don't agree that she should just be inserted into the main event spot in the women's division. Build up her character, have her beat some notable names. Of course I think she needs to go through the roster and beat them to prove herself. Why not? She's already going to be bypassing NXT and leapfrogging all of the talented women there. She has 0 experience in a wrestling ring, 0 experience on the mic...she needs work.

All in all, fantastic show. There is a reason the Rumble is my favorite PPV. This year, it didn't disappoint at all.
